This is why, when I got PC, I became console command happy. I always drop 4-6 extra guards into town, so there are enough blades to keep these mothergrabbers back.

I've not had to do that yet thankfully, though recently another NPC died in Riverwood after a Dragon attack, on the plus side I did get some inheritance off him. I had no idea we were even related!

When Adrianne died I went to see her husband, the dialogue gave me the option to ask who now makes your weapons and armour? He replied that he has it all delivered in. What would have been great is, if I had the option to buy the smith off him and sell armour and weapons that I've made! I'd keep him on in a job but he'd sell my stuff, a profit for both of us.

I remember playing on the 360 and a dragon attacked Riverwood, I watched as the dragon cremated a child right in front of me only to see that child turn towards me its body enveloped in flames and ask me did I want to play? Very creepy indeed. That's what made the Vanilla game great.

haha! very creepy indeed.

When the smith at Riften dies (mine got mauled by a Gargoyle), his apprentice takes over. He's ok but no-where near as friendly as Balimund.

I witnessed Alvor being used as a dragon's chew-toy once, then said dragon got bored and flung Alvor into the river.

What? Oh. Goodby
I would love to play Skyrim on PC, but I'm just not the mouse and arrows kind a person. I have Oblivion on PC, but hardly played it.

I had a hard time with the keyboard, even though I used it all through my MoH:AA years, but I found that a cheap old Logitech usb controller works fine with it. It's said to accept x-box controllers also, just not PS3.

I bought a wireless adapter for my PC, so I could use my Xbox controller. Cost me £10 and it works great. Skyrim recognises it straight away and its pretty much the same layout as the consoles. I bought a one handed keyboard recently, as I wanted to go back and play Oblivion and Morrowind modded on PC.

The first few times I played this quest I never realized you could save him. I thought he was just meant to die in the torture room.

The ONE time I was able to get Malborn out of that bloody embassy he punches a dragon in the nose! WTF, Malborn!

The last time I played the quest a few days ago I opened the book while on the loft where the Thalmor show up knowing what was going to happen. I had my arrow notched and ready to fire and when I let the arrow fly Malborn runs in front of it! Geez Malborn! Do you want to die?

I saved private Malborn, slew the thalmor guards in slow-mo, we then proceeded to down the hatch into the cave below...unfortunately when my screen loaded, Malborn and the prisoner guy who was in chains were already ahead of me. (Forgot his name, Prisoner #2, cause my orcs THE Prisoner) - The prisoner guy ran past the Frost Troll, but Malborn was stopped in his tracks, and proceeded to get bitch-slapped and died from shock. I was temporarily saddened by his loss, the journey we had been through, the party, the laughter, the alley, he almost got out. But then I realized he was a weak ass who wasn't smart enough to run as fast as the prisoner #2. My temporary sadness ended when I spotted a skeleton nearby with some gold and a Skill book. Ahhhh glorious loot!!!

Malborn definitely has a screw loose somewhere. I figure he's either depressed and trying to end it all, or he belongs to some kind of Elven fraternity and is drunk 100% of the time. o_O

I've had more success in keeping Malborn alive once I discovered Imp Stool+Mora Tapinella+Canis Root = potion of paralysis & lingering damage health. I love alchemy, so by the time I get to that quest it is usually high and often perked. It's pretty damn satisfying watching a Thalmor soldier go down and slowly die without you having to do more than one poisoned hit.
