See topic.

My current Dovahkiin recently got all 24 Stones of Barenziah, then the Crown of Barenziah; returned all that to Vex.

He was rewarded with the Prowler's Profit perk (doesn't appear on any list, not even Active Effects); what it does is improves the number and quality of gems found in dungeons.

I'll admit: my Dovakiin is level 36; that might have a little to do with the kind of luck he's been having:

After finding the White Phial in the Forsaken Cave, he had the following gems collected from various urns (however, I'm sure he had some left over from previous dungeon crawls):

12 Amethysts
7 Diamonds
10 Emeralds
11 Garnets
11 Rubies
17 Sapphires

13 Flawless Amethysts
4 Flawless Emeralds
13 Flawless Garnets
11 Flawless Rubies
10 Flawless Sapphires

What's he gonna do with all that? Grab a pickaxe. Mine Gold and Silver ores. Smelt them into ingots. Make rings and watch his Smithing skill soar!

If you, too have earned the Prowler's Profit perk and are thoroughly enjoying it, post here!

When in doubt, follow the fox.
I actually don't love it. I stopped collecting the gems after my second round with it. Becoming so rich is demotivating. What am I supposed to do with 100 flawless diamonds and thousands of other gemstones in my strongbox? It got so I didn't even want to check any urns anymore.

Hire a follower to escort you around and role-play a wealthy gem merchant. . .

But I agree, it takes away the joy of finding items of value.

I've honestly never finished collecting all the gems. But my main game has well over 100k gold so she doesn't really need the perk. She can't even sell off all the stuff she has now. But it sounds like a neat perk.

I haven't finished finding all the Stones of Barenziah yet, but I do look forward to an increased haul of gems.

In my latest play-through I haven't sold one gem. I want to pile a mountain of stones into one of my rooms and enjoy my glittery wealth after having risked my life in one adventure or another. With my last character I had the same intention but w/out PP my gem collecting took much longer than predicted and I barely had a one gem layer on the floor. Underwhelming at most.

I've never had that perk, but I find more than enough gems as it is. Especially since I can't use them for anything unless I take a specific smithing perk.
I've taken to keeping every single gem except (flawless) garnets, and by level 30 I always have a nice pile of colourful rocks.

If I ever collect all Stones of Barenziah, it won't be in the foreseeable future. Have absolutely zero interest in the TG - as far as joining them goes. ;)
