    undead
    ʌnˈdɛd/

    adjective
    1. (of a fictional being, especially a vampire) technically dead but still animate.
"an undead monster from a movie"
    zombie
    ˈzɒmbi/

    noun
    1. a corpse said to be revived by witchcraft, especially in certain African and Caribbean religions.

When they came back, we weren't ready. We heard it over the news, all over the world the Undead were rising and we were stupid to think we were safe. The government said they would protect us, the army were mobilized to the borders. Martial law was instated, and anybody sick with the mysterious diseases symptoms were to report to their nearest military hospital. The one's who were tested false, were able to return however for the ones that showed signs of the disease were never heard from again. It was like they were erased from history. Soon the number of undead rose, and the military did not have enough power to stop them and so they retreated, and they hid, and they left those they promised to protect to fend for themselves. It has been three months since the military fell apart, and it has been five months since the first accounted infection.

Welcome to the thread, and welcome to my attempt at a rather unoriginal idea. Yes, an Rp where we have to live and survive in an zombie apocalypse. I will be looking for all types of CC's, with a deep history and background. It's important that at least if you don't want to reveal it to everybody, you PM me with that info. I will be accepting five to six people, you are also welcome to create other minor npc's, or other family members, or even Rp as two people at the same time. Remember there is going to be dull moments, points where your characters would seemingly want to give up and have to learn to live with their fears to be able to survive in this new world. Also Realistic and Unique characters are going to be accepted more than overpowered zombie killers. Also please mention what important skills and hindrances your characters have, also a possible back story or summary on why they are who they are. Are they skilled or not with weapons of any sort. Also remember that ammo, guns and food will probably be scarce.
The world will evolve with the characters, as the characters grow so will the ones around them, and possibly the zombies.

    All standard Rp rules apply.

Hmm. This is interesting, but I'm unsure whether or not I will post a CC. Definitely interested though.

You're welcome to, but I doubt there is going to be anybody else.

Is this Rp still open? I'm definitely interested in using a new character I've come up with recently. Does this take place in modern times or in the Elder Scrolls universe?

Yes it is still open albeit slow moving. it's also in the modern times.
Think the location it takes place is either Uk or USA, I still haven't really gotten to that part as people seemed to lack interest.

I'll try to get a CC up tomorrow but I have an awful lot to do so it may have to wait until the weekend

Ahh so this is happening (as it seems :D). Okay guys what do you prefer between USA or Uk for location, or perhaps you have other suggestions?

Also don't worry if you take some time to get your CC's up, get what needs to be done and then come back ready for Rping.

Well being a uk resident I know the uk better, but the difficulty of obtaining weapons and firearms could make things interesting.

hey I'm going for as much realism as possible.

Well it would make for a more improvisational way I taking on the apocalypse, using weapons like hammers and screwdrivers, but that's not to say that firearms aren't to be found.

I down for whatever, however considering that both of the walking dead franchises are in the american south I suggest we keep anything in america to the north or west. America is also bigger which gives more room for travel. I do like the idea of there being a lack of guns and such.

There's a good argument for either side and I'm fine with whatever. I would however say my preference is slightly toward America because that's where I'm from, but I won't complain if it's in uk.

Also there's going to be different tiers of zombies as the rp goes on, plus the guns should only be used in certain circumstances as "sound" attracts them.
I'll basically rank them from Stupid to intelligent.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and suggest an apocalypse in Colombia. Just coz we can.

I've finally decided that it takes part in the USA, mostly for the space to travel. For the weapons part, You can start with a gun if you want to but do remember how ammo is low and everything is mainly about being self sufficient to be able to survive in the new world. Try to use close enough weapons but I'm going to add another danger. The virus spreads through the contact of blood, and other bodily fluids like saliva.

There is also going to be two types of starting zombies. The generic slow ones and the more rare sprinters, 1 in every 5000 are sprinters. All zombies will give chase regardless of their own well being, all they know is to "spread" and "eat". All zombies mainly rely on sound and smell for detection and won't give chase unless they are sure you are not infected. Suggestions are also welcome. Starting at San Francisco, Los Angeles and Nevada. Travel will take place due to personal reasons for people in the RP and for the better of the whole.

What I also want to see in CC's are your characters combat experiences(if any) and to what extent have they trained with it.
The characters have heard about a "safe haven" for the uninfected, be it through radio or through rumors and have decided that it is worth checking out. They say the centre is well protected from everything and that it is a true solace from the outside world. However things will not be as it seems. The centre is located in some make shift military bunker near San Francisco.

So I had a couple of questions

    1. So if the disease is passed through bodily fluids, doesn't that kinda make melee weapons useless? IDK if you know this but you get blood on your face field dressing a deer, let alone plunging a knife into the skull of a animated body.

Also, wouldn't that make it impossible for the whole cover yourself in zombie blood to sneak through a herd?

    2. I was wondering what your opinion was on my character having a pet dog. I think it would be cool, but it is really up to interpretation whether a dog could survive in a zombie apocalypse, so I thought I would ask you.

    1. That is why we have should have goggles to cover your eyes, masks for your mouths in combat. You should also cover up any serious wounds. Our characters could perhaps be immune to the disease but at the same time be a carrier of the disease or be at risk. You do not have to cover yourself in zombie blood (don't you think it would dry up?), I'm sure any decomposed thing gives off the same smell as zombies as it's practically dead. Also if you do take a look at The walking dead, I think in the first season they used other clothes to cover themselves in blood and organs and had nothing on their bare skin.

So at first there would be maximum rise, but the rise would fall dramatically over the course of the Rp. That's why I'm going to have the virus mutate, also over the course of the Rp.
The reanimated's blood would eventually dry (lack of working heart, hot conditions, clotting) as I mentioned and soon would only be spread by bite or to say if you were to eat the infected's flesh. It's been five to seven months already, so i'm probably sure they don't have liquid blood anymore.

    2. It would depend on the dog really, is it trained or not? A dog could survive in the zombie apocalypse. We could also say that at first the virus doesn't affect animals at all. Then it mutates, and evolves to infect animals.

Okay thanks, that clears a lot up.

The dog would be trained pretty well yes. I was thinking that it would help out if it was say one stray walker (attack the legs so my character could take it down more easily.) but it would need to hide, run, or follow from a distance if there were more than a few.

He would be similar to having a child character, and almost be a sort of handicap for my character. I am also playing with the idea of the dog being almost it's own character and following things from it's perspective at times.
