The true meaning of taking an arrow to the knee! How could I be so blind?! It is a nordic slang for getting married (you fall to one knee, as if you were shot by an arrow!). Man, I feel like an idiot now!

I think I'd rather take an actual arrow to the knee. Seems less detrimantal to your health.;)

I will forever refuse to believe this is true unless I see a 100% reliable source confirm it is so. Whoever came up with it must be beyond pleased at the popularity their "fact" has gained.

PS. It's "arrow IN the knee"
PPS.

You can all rest easy. There is no evidence that it was actually ever used by ancient Norse peoples to describe marriage. In fact, women were held in very high regard as home makers back in those times. It's purely a "Nordic" saying the developers made up for as a joke.
Although it definitely now has been ingrained into modern day society as a reference to marriage :)

There is a really nifty mod bringing down divine intervention after someone says this, the line gets really trying after about 500 hrs of play. There is one for " has someone stolen your sweet roll", but I would rather give a good kicking.....
