Sorry if they're is a thread for this. I've looked for one like this I couldn't find one. If they're a similar one I may have missed it. If they're is already a thread for this please close.

I prefer Nordic ruins. Druagr are my favorite enemies to kill. I also tend to get lost more often in the
dwemer ruins. I also hate fighting the dwemer machines especially the centurions. I don't have much luck with those.

I'd have to say Dwemer. But then, everything about the Dwemer fascinates me. I agree about getting lost in them at times, but I actually kind of enjoy getting lost in them and being able to explore at my leisure. At my level the only things in them left to bother me are those huge ones, Dwarven Centurions, I believe.
Nordic ruins I'm afraid have gotten a bit to predictable. Kill draugrs of varying levels, get what you came for, leave. Just my opinion but it gets repetitive.
However, I have to say I do have a certain appreciation for the Nordic ruins with Word Walls in them; the set up changes in them it seems and you never know whats around the next corner. Still though, I definitely prefer Dwemer ruins.

What level are you on? Just wondering. I'm level 69 on my main account and I still hate them centurions, the spheres (If I spelled right) are not that hard anymore.

I never liked dwemer ruins. Fighting the ''robot'' inhabitants is kinda dull for me. Plus, when i'm trying to hoard smithing equipment at early levels it gets kinda annoying having to make 3-4 trips to the bigger ones ( even with a follower ) to collect all the damn metal

I enjoy Nordic ruins a lot more but one thing annoys me about them: The game , and often other NPCs, treat them as mysterious places that have been untouched for long passages of time ( either because no-one has found them, or they are afraid to go in ). Yet when you walk in all the braziers, torches and candles are conveniently lit and there is fresh food lying round everywhere. Takes the whole ''adventurer'' feeling away, because its like someones just been in five minutes earlier and left the lights on. Would have been better for me if the player had to light torches themselves as they moved along, and items like staff of magelight would have been MUCH more useful.

Personally my favourite places are the redoubts and forts.

I'm not a fan of the machines. However, I think both are rather interesting in their own way. The Dwemer ruins make more sense to have magical/mechanical lighting. The Nordic ruins and their candles make little sense but I do enjoy dispatching draugr more than machines and/or falmer. Ultimately, I think the draugr give Nordic ruins the edge.

As much as I would rather kill Draugr than Dwemer mechanisms, I would have to choose Dwarven ruins. I just love exploring the place where so much people called home before they vanished, just the sight of tables and chairs arranged as if there was no struggle just fascinates me. It always gives me a sense of how advanced they were and how something so strong can disappear so quick.......plus I like to collect Dwarven metal ingots :)

Nordic ruins, definitely.

The Dwemer constructs are annoying, but Draugr are cool. I especially like the sound they make when they detect you.
Dwemer ruins also tend to be inhabited by Falmer and their pet Chaurus... I hatehatehate both of those creatures.

Also, Dwemer ruins are just so LOUD that that alone makes me dislike them. Nordic ruins are mostly silent, sometimes even creepy.

Nordic. There's plenty of loot in both types, but I can load up on valuables in nordic ruins without getting weighed down. The good stuff in the dwemer ruins is so heavy!

And dwemer dungeons make me really paranoid for some reason. I'm always waiting for some automaton to come at me from behind. I spam lightning runes just to make myself feel safer. Nord ruins are calming to me. Even the really tough ones are a methodical type of fighting that I'm comfortable with. And draugr almost never take me by surprise.

Dwemer. Nordic are way to predictable. Always the same. At least with the Dwemer ruins, while confusing and repeatitive, at least there's some variety in what you run in to.
Of course, I also like soul gems.

I love both Dwemer and Nordic ruins. They both can have beautiful sights. (And since I have a bachelors in Archaeology, the history and uses are just that more fascinating to me). But the Dwemer ruins are more interesting to me. This is because for the most part it's quite obvious what the Nordic ruins were used for (mostly burial rituals) but the Dwemer ruins were full cities. You can find bedrooms, kitchens, armories, and more. And how some of the areas look as if the Dwemer just stood up from the middle of a meal and just walked away is really interesting to me. Especially some of the buildings in Black Reach. I think I look at the dwemer ruins too much with my archaeological logic. :p i just love exploring places like them

Hmm... that's a tough one. My favorite type of ruins or caves to go through have normally been the ones where animals are. Because they have beautiful waterfalls inside and light coming from the top and they're just very beautiful. Like the cave you go in during the quest "I'll met by Moonlight" or whatever it's called.

But as far as either Dwemer or Nordic ruins... I personally think the Dwemer ruins are more interesting, but I hate the enemies, especially the Falmer, and the fact that THEY ARE SO DAMNED LONG sometimes. With the Nordic ruins, fighting Draugr just gets old. They are so predictable and there are never hordes which would make it more fun, there's only always like one or two or maybe three. Only a few times in Skyrim have I ever been presented with an actual horde of Draugr and was hanging by a thread of health.

So I guess it's a tie for me, they both have there positives and negatives.

Tough choice. Both have ups & downs, like previously said. I must admit They both pop up at a near equal amount of intervals throughout quests, perhaps slightly leaning to the crypts.
Tombs are chilling to explore, but they all seem the same. After several playthroughs not even the word walls appeal to me anymore. Whereas dwarven ruins are just so exciting. For example, instead of your typical "precariously placed oil lamp" or "swinging blade" It could be robot spiders popping out of the wall, or insta-death ballistae's, or even those obnoxious, follower-killing threshers... how I loathe them (in a positive way to this discussion:D)

It's not an option, but I'm saying Falmer and Ayleid Ruins. Both are so fascinating. Their magical knowledge is lost, hardly understood and both had more power than anyone likes to give them credit for. No ruin could ever be as beautiful as the Shrine to Auriel in Skyrim, lost to time forever.
