How do you backstab a Dragon?
If those plot details made you feel dumb, Dark Souls would blow your mind! xD

I would say for the most part though, I always overestimated Skyrim. I cannot remember any particular moments off the top of my head because it's been awhile. One was that trap in a Dwemer Ruin, with that floating glowing ball in the center of the room... I really should have seen that one coming. Afterwards I was like, "Oh Skyrim, you clever gal!"
How is Dark Souls? I understand it's very, very difficult for those of us that don't play Skyrim on Master or Expert. We have no context for all the dieing you have to do to do DS well. Opinion? My other 1/2 is trying to convince me to get it. The best I could do is get a couple of used copies of Final Fantasy X-X2 and XIII.
It is difficult, especially for your first playthrough. It is a game of risk and reward, and punishes mistakes very hard. As long as you learn from your mistakes and pay attention, it is a very enjoyable game.... most of the time. You can get invaded by other players at any point when you are in your human form unless you are offline. It is nothing like Skyrim. Even people who play Skyrim on Expert, Master, or even Legendary would probably get owned, because it is a different KIND of difficulty and a completely different kind of game.
WHAT! I'm an American! I refuse to learn from my mistakes! :)

In thein the Lord of the Rings, Eowyn told her brother that "It's their heart that matters." Or something like that (similar to what Kodlak said), and Eomer muttered, "And their arm." That was Vilkas' exact dialogue!

I assume that's the movie? I've just about got the books memorized and def not any line like that there.
There's a line like that in movie only (as well as the character). I've read the books over 400 time too and know that to be true. The Hobbit movie, after all, has very little in common with the actual book other than a very general plot. We can't forget that they added over 40 characters that were never in the book and a number of plot lines that were nowhere to be found in books at all.
I am going under the assumption that Jewel is basing the ideas on the movies. Can't wait to see what they come up with after the 3rd movie!
Of course, since there aren't any hobbits or dwarves (dwemer are not Tolkien dwarves after all) in TES, it would be kind of hard to work them in.
Ikr!! I wish there was a Hobbit or lotr based plot on a DLC, but the Hobbit came out after Skyrim did. But wouldn't it be cool if you go on an adventure with a wizard and a follower of your choice to go slay a dragon??? Think about that money ⊙.⊙ I am sure a kidder may have made a mod like that before though, or at least they tried. But Skyrim is an old game as far as video games go, so it's a bit too late for a new mod or DLC. butthe new Elder Scrolls is coming out soon (or did it already???) So I'm a bit excited!! I heard it's going to be in Adkavir.... Or something spelled like that. I can't wait for it!

Are you going to try the Shadows of Mordor game? I know I am. It looks great! We play War in the North all the time (no hobbits as playable, and not open world, but we still love it!).

I'm still gonna get it tho!! Thx for mentioning, cause if you didn't, I would be missing out On a bunch of fun =D

Actually there was a modder project a couple years ago to recreate Middle Earth as a total game makeover. It was shut down by whoever currently owns the Tolkien properties. Search MERP for more information.

the fire off the coast in front of Yngvild Barrow area, I always assumed it was a dragon leftover.... and then finally investigating I realized it was just a mage and there was a deleted quest about looking for this mage along with others.. I felt kinda dumb because I didn't investigate until I made my like millionth character since the game came out :/

mostly I just keep finding new things.... then I feel dumb because I passed the location/area like 1000 times!>_<

Same here!! Yesterday I found an Easter egg (you can tell I know a lot of Easter eggs!) of the movie 300... There was a sabrecat with this spear thing through its jaws, lodgedin two rocks. Like the scene when they spear a wolf.... Believe, I know lots of Easter eggs!! I think that Markarth glitch I posted was a CSI egg because in one episode I watched, everyone just fell down and died.... I might be wrong though....

Sometimes. I just realized a little while ago, after making my second character I believe it was, that the Redguard dude - Rodvir or something? - when he ran off and got shot down by archers I realized he was running toward the horse. I felt so stupid that I didn't notice that on my first character, I mean like he tells you he's a horse thief. Little things like that, you know?

So normally Skyrim makes me feel pretty smart. But sometimes.... it makes me feel like a dumbass. For example, I just put this together in my head: The reason Ulfric has a cloth around his mouth in the beginning of the game is so he doesn't shout his wait out of his execution. I just thought the imperials didn't want to hear his bitching. I just now put that together.... oh boy.

Took me forever to realize that, too.

Back when I first started doing Alchemy, I had misunderstood one of the loading screens ("Eat an ingredient to learn its properties and slightly raise the Alchemy skill."). I thought it meant that if I ate let's say four Rock Warbler Eggs, I would learn all four effects for that particular ingredient. Later I discovered the "Experimenter" perks... and finally understood why I had only ever learnt the first effects.

Yes, when I try to reach something right in front of me (but a mountain is in the way) and either I am able to reach it or not then I turn and find the stairs just feet from me.

Here's another thing I NEVER KNEW until a couple days ago (this one is really sad):

In the very beginning, right when you start a new game and Alduin is attacking Helgen and you just got out of your execution. At first you follow that stormcloak guy, but then you jump through the roof and start following Hadvar. After all that, you get a choice to either follow Hadvar or that stormcloak guy. I NEVER KNEW THERE WAS A CHOICE!!!!!!!!!!! I always thought I had to follow Hadvar. WTF Alyssa come on. (that's my name). I always just blindly followed Hadvar because I'm always trying to hurry up the helgen process because I've done it way too many times.

Hahaha, I always followed Ralof. Just recently I decided to follow Hadvar for a change. (btw, I like your name;))

it was my second play through of the mages guild that I realized the 2 mages at the end were the friends.

It was my third play through that I realized you could choose either Hadvar or Ralof to escape Helgen.

My WTF is wrong with me moment was realizing how to unlock shouts....... after 100s of hours of game play.

Hahahaha, yep I never knew for the longest time and kept using the same 2 shouts over and over through the game. You aren't alone!

After over a year & a half, and multiple characters, I finally found out how to unlock shouts today......

I went a really long time (and it seemed even longer . . . you'll see why) before I realized you could tab through dialogue to cut the speaker off and get to the next set of dialogue options. I was sitting there listening to everyone say everything, every time. It took forever to furnish Breezehome!

Oh lord... I feel so bad for you! That's miserable. As many characters as I've made, I skip through so much dialogue. I couldn't stand listening to the same plops over and over again. But at least you know now!

Sometimes now I do the opposite: I forget that you don't have to tab through every dialogue. I keep subtitles on and even when I am talking to someone I haven't encountered before I have the habit of just tabbing as soon as I've read the line, usually barely a word or two into the spoken dialogue. I have to remind myself that the voice actors are part of the experience and to sit back and listen.

Unless it's the Farengar voice actor. Eff that.
