Great Music to add to Skyrim

I've got 900 hours logged in Skyrim, and I still have never finished the main quest, the thieves guild questline, the College of Winterhold Questline, past the first mission or 2 of the Storm Cloak Civil War (I always join the Stormcloaks, someday I'll try the Imperials), and never gotten past the abandoned shack for the Dark Brotherhood (mainly because I like playing characters in the early stages).

Now I'm in it to see all that missing content, plus my several quest mods I added.

But music, music has gotten quite dull. First off medeival sounding, or nordic music isn't really my thing, and 900 hundred hours of the same 60 tracks or so, yea I've heard everything music wise this game has to offer to the point that I often no longer wear my headphones when I play which probably hurts immersion.

Now that I'm using the Personalized Music Mod, I've decided to put a small list of songs I'm going to add and if anyone else has some ideas, feel free to add them.

Carmina Burana - This song is so epic in nature and I believe it's one of the few songs that is truly "old" in that it predates Bach or Beethoven, that most people still know of to this very day even if they don't know the name. THink the intro to Jackass the movie (the first movie) if you need to know what song I'm talking about. Probably a song that's only appropriate for dragon battles.

Theme to Conan the Barbarian - I edited this track to skip some of the quiet parts at the very beginning to just get into the action stages. I think this is a great addition, it's so loud though that I'm probably only going to use it for dragon battles.

Theme to Dr. Zhivago - This song, Lara's theme, well I watched all 4 hours of Dr. Zhivago, and the director really gave you a sense of the coldest regions and war torn parts of Russia around the time of the Bolshevik revolution. I think this song may be ideal for The Pale and maybe the Winterhold reaches of Skyrim. Has a bit of an icy sound to it IMO, albeit kind of upbeat (I can attest that virtually no songs in Skyrim are what I consider upbeat except maybe Tavern music).

Theme to Monty Python and the Holy Grail - This has been my intro song for the longest time, but I never put it into the game. It has a total medeival sound to it, once again it's also much more upbeat or energetic than any other Skyrim song. To me this is a must have for any Skyrim Character playthrough. It's great music for exploring just like King Arthur and his men when they went in search of the Holy Grail.

I've been looking into other pieces, I'd like to implement the theme to Lawrence of Arabia, it has a sound to it that makes me think of endless deserts, so I think it would be more befitting to someone who did the country of Hammerfell for a mod rather than Skyrim, but I may figure something out. I'm looking into Ben Hur's theme and the theme from The 10 Commandments.

A lot of people recommend music from the production company of Two Steps from Hell, however, no piece has really stuck out to me like Conan the Barbarian's theme or Carmina Burana. I may have to spend more time listening.

I may have to check out soundtracks from 300 and The Lord of the Rings, and for fun, I think I may add "Go Where Eagles Dare" since that was used in the WoW Funeral Raid youtube video, I think for me it now is a must have song for any Medeival Fantasy world game even if it doesn't quite fit the lore.

I've played this game since release and still absolutely love the music. In fact it spurred me on to really start listening to classic. I listen to classic about 30% of the time I have music on now.

Every now and then you step outside a hold or something and a breathtaking bit of music comes on and I just stop and listen. I think this is my favourite in the game:

Gigapact

Lollygagging Milk Drinker (according to guards)
This reminds me of something I do sometimes. Do you know the band Depeche Mode? On their newest album, there is a song called, "Heaven." I think it's number 3 on the album. Whenever I'm around Winterhold, where it is snowing heavily, sometimes I play that song and walk slowly along the path and mess with the camera and stuff lol. It just fits so well. Especially wondering around Castle Volknir (spelling, from the Dawnguard DLC). Or I'll play "Down" by Dave Gahan. The song says something along the lines of, "Down, on the ground, no one's around... and the snow keeps falling..." Just fits really well to me. Especially since it looks so depressing and gloomy in the northern parts of Skyrim. Very good if you're playing a darker character.

I'm gonna say that anything by wardruna and agallochs marrow of the spirit album are probably the best things I have ever listened to whilst playing skyrim. Uber viking and uber awesome.

For icey caves, like Frost Flow Abyss and such, I added a piece of music from Star Wars when Luke Skywalker is in the Wampa lair.

I'm not sure if it was appropriate but I took the piece of music when they're navigating the asteroid field for combat music, along with a few other pieces when I'm in combat.

Reason I added that piece is when I had the N64 when it was brand new, oh around 1997 or so, there was a game called Star Wars:Shadow of the Empire, and it used lots of pieces of music from Star Wars and the Asteroid field one, and others from The Empire Strikes Back, stuck out to me in particular.

Right now the theme to "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" is getting a little sickening since I put it into #1 and #2 track slots, I either need more pieces of music, or remove the piece from where it is often played the most, which is exploring in the day time. Due to Frostfall, and I upped the exposure rate in my game to 2.5 on Hardcore mode, I often don't go out at night until I get my winter weather gear so I often don't hear the Explore-Night music.

I'll give your other suggestions a listen to while I'm at it.

One of my all time favorite action scene scores. It just screams intense combat, with a twist of awesome power.

I did a play through with mostly Angelo Badalamenti soundtracks... it gave blood on the ice a nice twin peaks feel.

Forgive me for being a bit of a weeb, but I've been playing with the Madoka soundtrack. while it's not really in Skyrim's style, I kind of got used to it. The music that plays in dragon fights is really great.

All three are awesome. What's that thing he's playing in the Air Force Symphony version? It looks like a battle axe.

A few other good action scores...

The old standby O Fortuna

Crimson Tide theme by Hans Zimmer ( also did the Backdraft music above...Hans Zimmer is awesome)

And if you're feeling Piratey, this always conjures the image of the Errol Flynn type, tearing his way down the mainsail with cutlass in hand.
