For sure! I actually went out and bought a wired 360 controller just so I can have the plug and play features. A ps3 controller would work as well, but the fact that skyui natively supports the 360 layout makes me so happy.

Oh god. We need to get giga SKSE and SkyUI immediately.

giga, you are going to lose your mind when you see the awesomeness that is SkyUI.

What is this SKSE and SkyUI you speak of??

SKSE is the Skyrim script extender. It is necessary for a ton of mods. It used to be quite the process to install, but now it is very simple.

http://skse.silverlock.org/

go there, and click on the very first link, the one that says "installer"

Once you do that, it will create an Icon on your desktop thay says "Skyrim (SKSE)" and it will have the skyrim logo. So now, you will use that to launch skyrim. Make sure you are already logged into steam first, but then close all of the steam windows and click that new shortcut.

Then go to the nexus mods site and download SkyUI. Right now, it is far and away the number one mod on that site (or any for that matter), and you will never look back.

Okay thanks for all the info on your other post too! I'm going to try now, will let you know how it goes!

I would not suggest removing SkyUI ever since most mods use the MCM (Mod Customiser Menu) for you to get everything the way you want it to work. :) Also I would recommend using Nexus Mod Manager for a while because Mod Organiser is very confusing.

Uhh, can I tear this post down without being thought of as a pariah?
You can try if you want, but I fully reserve my right to consider you a pariah at some future time if upon further review it is determined that such moniker is appropriately bestowed upon person(s) either directly by myself or an agent acting on my behalf.

Okay sorry it's been a couple days. I'm sure you've guessed where I've been... playing Skyrim lol.

Sooo! I have successfully installed:

1. The Nexus Mod Manager
2. SKSE
3. SkyUI
4. Frostfall (fl*ffing amazing)
5. Climates of Tamriel or whatever is (also damn amazing)
6. And more mods effecting anything from followers, horses, graphics, blood, etc etc. Adding cloaks and all that BS for Frostfall.
7. Loot to organize load order like you said.

And.... I AM SO GODDAMN HAPPY! I feel like I am in Skyrim wonderland LOL :p

I had made a random character just until I got the hang of everything. Today I erased her from existance and made my first real character. I just got the Frostfall today, and I have just been having a blast doing the most stupid plops like collecting firewood and making a tent. I never thought I'd be that happy about getting hypothermia and making a fire.

All the mods just add all those little details I always wish my xbox had. Like the water dripping off when you get out of the lake, the snow collecting on your garments in the north, etc etc.

And holy plops are some things just easier. Today I also learned how to take screen shots and posted them on my tumblr for Skyrim!

You should be very proud of me! I truly suck at computers. AND THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR DETAILED HELP!!!!!!!

Only problem I've had: Sometimes when I launch Skyrim through SKSE, after I load up my save just fine, I get an Error 01 (I think) telling me that SKSE is not running and that SkyUI will not run properly and blah blah. Then I close down Skyrim and load up again, then I don't get the message and everything is just fine. Any thoughts on this??? THANKS! Everything else runs perfect.

And just for plopss and giggles, on my experimental character yesterday I downloaded one of those mods that perks up the female body and allows them to be nude and voluptuous, then I got the skimpiest DB armor out there, and paraded around Winterhold. I was very happy for a while. But then got bored and got Frostfall and decided it wasn't a good idea to be running around Winterhold in the nude. But I still laugh everytime I loot armor from bandits and they're all naked... it's the little kid in me :D I'm so used to video games shutting that down.

I haven't seen that particular error myself but it could be something like Steam not being fully loaded yet or something.

Now if you totally want your mind blown, get one of the utilities that let you take screenshots and vid-caps. I use Fraps myself, though there are a handful of other good ones too. Steam also has a built-in screen-cap function too

Prediction: Gigapact will need glasses in 10 years. I thought mom warned us all about that.[/quote]

No I didn't install any of the three you listed. Racemenu I'll look into for sure. But I don't want my health bar to disappear and I still want some kind of direction as to where I'm going. I'm saving mods that add more quests, areas and people until after I get my character started up. I'm really interested in installing Falskaar or whatever it's called. Looks interesting!

For the females, I installed UNP and then the armor mod that adds armor for UNP bodies. But now that I have frostfall that was a waste of time because Frostfall is way kickass and I'd rather play that than run around in skimpy outfits lol.

I can't remember which mod I used for the female faces though...

We should of warned you! When you mod Skyrim, you'll never want to play Vanilla Skyrim again!!!!
I agree with that totally. Of course considering how Bethesda has openly encouraged the mod community dating back to their earliest TES games, I'd argue that "modded" was the developers ultimate intention.

What is amazing though is that there are some modders that do work that far exceeds many things made by professional developers. Of course there is a fair share of crap too, but there are some real gems out there.

Actually iHUD isn't actually as bad as you think. Within the MCM you can make it so when you get hit you're health bar is shown for a specific time period same with your stamina bar when you run, or your Magicka bar when you cast spells. And I've set mine up so when I press X it displays my compass, so I can choose whenever I want that to be shown. And I've also set it so it always displays my active effects. Great little mod, but it's not for everyone :)
