Very true, That is less of an issue for me since I have a slightly older computer. And there seem to be a few for both consoles that seem worth the investment.

I am interested, how is this generation more outdated compared to the other releases of the other consoles?

I know when I was first looking for a computer a few years back, Alienware would have the newest, top of the line components that were not even completely tested so if you weren't careful you could fry your entire system. Consoles to me always seem to be the "pragmatic" hardware choices. It may not technically have the best stats but they can last and run the longest without creating major issues.

As for resolution the only joke I got is "Maybe your Television sucks." I do agree you can get better on PC, if the developer is developing around PC. It is funny, cause Developers don't make their game for the best rigs most of the time. So you get modders actually making the game the "Higher graphics" you describe.

Few games run really in 1080p. Most rendered lower resolution and then scaled to television resolution. Even if those games run 1080p, then FPS is usually 30 not 60. If you look resolution, framerate, textures and effects, those are not match to PC. Even some companies try hide that fact (enabled 2013 E3 settings from Watch dogs and remove Depth of Field, Way more better than X0 or PS4. Sadly runs even smoother than without those settings in my PC, get better graphics and min FPS raise about 10 frames. Worse mod did not add anything, it just enabled settings that was disabled.)

Usually when consoles were usually above PC in release day. Now consoles are technically behind. Offcourse always top tier PC is better, but now even 400 - 600 PC get even or beat console.

Give it another year, developers will learn how to use the system efficiently.

You think the first games out on Xbox 1/360/PS2/PS3 used the system well? Lol Newsflash, every console has outdated specs compared to the best PC's. The only difference is is that its a standardized platform that the developers can work with more effectively instead of designing a game that works on 10000000000 different combinations of computers.

Honestly though, I don't understand all the plops being talked about the difference between 720p or 1080p. Not much difference at all.

Anything above 35 FPS will look just fine. I played PC at about 50-70 FPS constant and when I played GTA V (30 FPS/720p) it still looked good.

All depends really on what you're looking for.

Skip the headaches? Save cash? More exclusives? More mobile? Get a console.

Otherwise get a $1000 PC at least.

There is big difference in 720 vs 1080 (Even textures seems blurrier in 720). There is difference between 30 vs 60 fps. You feel thet even controls, 30 fps controls are laggier than 60 fps.

here Xb one is 450 euros, so many need PC too. 900 euros is not too much from gaming/working station.

Only game that give me headache from out of box is Watch Dogs, but problem is not PC, its Ubi coders who inserted even line "This is PC who cares" in code.
Other games run much more smoothier. In pc AMD and Nvidia have programs that put settings in games, no need to fight graphics settings any more.

Dont get me wrong, I still buy and play games in mys PS3 and xbox360. I even buy Borderlands 2 first to Ps3.

Hmmm Xbox one or PS4? The Answer Is PC, Did you know a GTX Titan Graphics card has more graphical power then both an XBone and PS4 combined.

Some might say a PC is more expensive....but PC has steam and steam games are extremely cheap by comparison (Sure the system costs more but the games are cheaper so it balances it out) and with steam you won't need the game's disk so their is no risk with accidentally scratching a game and it not working anymore.

Also if you want to buy a new game you don't need to go to a shop, you can download the game from steam and that is not even mentioning that the steam library is far more vast then any game store so you are more likely to find the game you want.

Hahaha thank you for the well written response. I know strictly speaking if you can afford a good pc it is better. But alas I am but a college student. But since the PC crowd seems to love its own drum even when strictly speaking it isnt an option I suppose you should be happy to know asides from consoles plans are in place for me to start working on a tower.

But c'mon if it ain't on the list of options it ain't on the list. Simple as that. And the title isnt so long y'all can't read it.Hahaha.

A year ago I was asking myself the very same question, which one should I go for? I had no preferences as I've owned a PSOne Xbox Xbox360 and had studied details of the XboxOne and PS4 hoping one would leap out and sway me towards them. But all the arguing between Mircosoft and Sony not to mention fanboys kind of put me off. Plus both machines had turn offs for me, not to mention the price of new games made me look elsewhere. So I began looking at building a Pc seeing if that could be a viable option for me. I'm not a student and have no real ties to stop me. But still raising that kind of cash is hard for most people these days. The more research I did the more I wanted a PC. I saved and saved and with a little good fortune raised the money to have a decent machine built. I don't regret it at all, in fact I believe I made the right choice. I had also looked at the SteamBox but it not being available at the time and my impatience put a end to that.

If you decide to go down the PC road don't lose patience get the machine you want. You'll not regret the choice.

Oh to answer the question, had I seen No Mans Sky was coming out on PS4 first I would probably been too impatient to wait for it on PC and bought a PS4. I still might buy a PS4 in the end if NMS doesn't come out on PC that is. ;)

That's not me beating the PC drum either! ;)
