There's only one hell, the one we live in now.
There is an Argonian adventurer called Mujarin who becomes Jarl of Riften (This is 7 years after the events of Skyrim, after the Civil War, Alduin conflict by the way).
He takes great pleasure in his new position at the expense of pretty much everyone in his Hold. He bosses his court and servants around like crazy and they cannot legally do anything about it. He teases and aggravates Nords by calling them commoners and puts them in jail for a week when threatened. He also travels to other villages in his Hold (escorted by guards of course) where he annoys anyone who isn't him. He isn't a nasty person at all, he's really just an annoying overlord for his people. While he does act very lazy in his role as Jarl, he does have trusty allies to make sure his court doesn't revolt against him.
I need help thinking of a good conflict for my story. There isn't really any major conflict in it so far.
Can anyone help me or message me please?
Thank you

A Black-Briar with some influence could try to steal said Argonian's position? The Black Briars have connections with the Thieves' Guild, the Dark Brotherhood and the Thalmor. I don't know if, in your scenario, any of those factions still exist, but if they do, having a whole faction after you must be messed up.

He screws up something and gets demoted from jarl status and has now just pissed off everyone and has no power to defend him self anymore.

I'm replying a couple of years after this post went up. How has it gone? My advice in this situation is to dig really really deep into what motivates the characters. Their basic subconscious drives. This is what is behind big epic and classic tales, the conflicts that play out when characters are propelled in one direction by their natures and the world around them changes. Some characters adapt and others cannot. Some are douches and redeem themselves, some are prideful and egotistic and can't see anything wrong with how they act and this comes around and bites them when their world is disrupted. A good exercise would be to sit down and in only a few words write out what has happened to three or four main characters from Game of Thrones on TV, to give an idea of what happens to people and why within a big story.

Oh wow, I completely forgot I made a thread about this lol. I made a start to it then I got caught up in college work and never came back to it. I'm been thinking about to returning to doing it, I have plenty of ideas for it.
