CC
Name: James Teller
Alias:Vex
Age:39
Birthplace: A small town in Oregon
Gender:Male
Laterality:Right handed
Sexuality:Heterosexual
Martial status:Single. Love is a dangerous game
APPEARANCE:
Eyes:Brown
Hair: Long brown hair to the top of his shoulders
Scars:Right side of his face extending from his right eye to the right side of his mouth, a few on his back from and more on his chest thanks to years on the field. Other scars you can't always see
PERSONALITY:
The good: Smart, caring once you know him, acts like a father figure/mentor, quite wise, calm, practical, respects his men, the alliance, and would kill and die for both, respects the chain of command, most times. Any alien he fights with is blood to him. No matter what race, creed, sex, or species. A soldier is a soldier, regardless
The bad: Doesn't do politics, stubborn in his ways and war can change a man. Strong opinions in music, reading and military endeavor.
Likes: Reading, sparring, weapon handling, keeping the recruits and marines in line music, a good drink, The alliance, all Aliens, gazing into the void of space.
Dislikes: Arrogance, any strong discrimination towards a person and Alien alike. The only scum in the galaxy are the ones he fights, and the ones in prison. He despises generals who sit up in a high chair, orders around their subordinates like chess pieces, takes all the glory and deals all the blame for a failure. He would die for his men and women, and he takes full responsibility for a failure, and celebrates a victory as a whole.
Combat skills/gear: A standard issue M8 Avenger with some scratches to indicate wear. Simple can be oh so beautiful. Along with that he has an old military issued knife back from earth that passed down in his family from a time long ago. Made with carbon steel and worshiped by him. The knife as a whole has been used in every major war since Earth's World War II.
He also carries a predator pistol, liking getting multiple shots off in quick succession
As for armor he has alliance issue combat fatigues that he prefers due to movement and weight. (Think Anderson's fatigues in ME3) He also wears an Alliance Helmet that has blue eye sockets with Vex written on the side along with scratches. The helmet goes on when needed
He also wears a bandanna around his head during battle to keep his hair and sweat out of his eyes, the same bandanna around his neck when it's cold, or the climate is dusty or can harm or slightly hinder breathing.
HISTORY:
James had a normal childhood with a normal upbringing; Right when he was born his father left, and it was just his mother and him. He was born in Oregon when his mother was in between tours as an Alliance fighter pilot. The thought and grandeur of service was instilled in him since birth, thanks to hearing of his mothers heroic actions and tales of close calls and battles. Being a military kid, he lived aboard star ships most his life, moving every often, having a new set of friends as well. He got used to not having friends, so he studied and delved into history and literature. As he grew up, he went more and more into military history, weaponry, and tactics, all while passing school. He enlisted when he was 20, going to small skirmishes with the ground force
After years of war and service, he commanded the very group of men and women he fought beside. This time he gets to make the hard choices, to live with his men and women dying, their fate in his choice of action. The history books didn't prepare him for this.
Suceeded: He and his company were ordered out to deal with a siege in an alliance research base by Cerberus. Vex came in, split his company into smaller teams; One team that made it apparent that they were gaining entry at the front, then a stealth team that quietly made their way around to flank the enemy. Both teams slowly made their way deeper, flanking Cerberus on both sides and took advantage of the blind spot, and overtook the base, sparing the hostages while wiping out the enemy. He later found out that the base had plans for a type of an air defense plan, and if left in the wrong hands, could have led to the citadel open for attack
Solved: Operation "Trench digger" During their bigger assignments, they were ordered to help defend a turian stronghold against reaper soldiers, during a stand still in fighting, he had his men dig a trench, with the help of some turian soldiers around the stronghold, deep enough to hinder something from climbing over it, and set a small group of soldiers by the key access points, and some along the walls of the stronghold overlooking the trenches. Soon the reapers came, and fell into the remarkably deep trenches. Like fire works the fine men and women around him let the bastards up with whatever they were holding; rifles, pistols, explosives. It was like shooting fish in a barrel.
Failure: Operation "red rain": He found their way to a lush forest planet with a constant wet climate, like Vietnam in monsoon season. Due to the lush vegetation, the planet's sun was blocked out, creating an evil shadow over the field. Now it was dark and rainy. It was devilishly quiet, only their footsteps echoing around them. He's seen unsettling things and been in horrific battles, but this was nightmarish. Where was the enemy? He had no idea. How could he assure his men that they were going to make it? Then he heard it; a trigger of a mine. Then it happened, a full out ambush "Ambush!" There was no darkness now, only flashes of blue, splashes of red, and cries of pain, fear, and anger. Somehow they set an ambush. They had no time to form an offensive, so he pulled them back. He lost half of his platoon. After all, they responded to a distress beacon detailing light resistance, nothing like what happened.
What happened on that day still haunts him. He has all those names etched into his mind. How could he have stopped it? James struggles with it to this day.
