I wanna do that Aetherium Wars quest again with a different character but it takes so long to get to that end part and it's quite challenging at the end.

It really is one of the larger quests in the game and if your not fast traveling than it can take a lot of time and energy to complete. I'm trying to amp myself up to do it on my current character actually :p

I like the Shield of Ysgramor for the added health and magic resistance.
There is no greater honor for a Nord than to wield the Shield of Ysgramor.

My biggest issue with the Shield of Ysgramor (apart from not liking the Companions questline), is that it's really no better than a shield I can smith and enchant myself, whereas the other shields have unique enchantments or powers.

It works for me, when I do the companions quest line I normally do it early. Like one of the first things. Plus I hardly ever use enchanting seriously, or smithing much really.

So what is your favourite? It took me ages to get the Dawnguard Rune Shield and I really thought I would love it. For me though it drains my stamina way to quickly (I shield bash often) and I find casting Stendarr' Aura before battle is way more effective when fighting undead.

So my favourite is easily Auriel's Shield, it looks cool and has a very useful ability.

It was hard for me to decide between Auriel's Shield, the Spellbreaker, and Autherial shield. They all have their usefullness, especially the spellbreaker when up against a bunch of pesky mages. The autherial shield is good for covering your ass when you're about to die. But in the end... I think the most unique is indeed Auriel's shield. There's not another enchantment like it that I've found, plus it looks nice. I hate the look of the Autherial shield, it looks awkward with most types of armor to me. And the Spellbreaker just looks... incorrect to me. I think it's a very interesting design heading in the right direction, but it just looks like its facing the wrong way....

So yep, I'd have to agree with you. Auriel's Shield.

I like Auriel's too, but I tend to be a guard at heart, so the simple, round shield is my fav. Spellbreaker does indeed look backward.

Spellbreaker. Works great against dragons without sapping your magicka. Pair it with Dawnbreaker for an amazing combo against vampires and draugr.

Shield of Solitude, by far. It has a great enchantment, and looks awesome. Plus it's a heavy armour shield, and I rarely use light shields. So it's perfect for me. It can't be tempered, but that's a minor downside.

Spellbreaker looks ridiculous, if you ask me, and the enchantment is more of a hindrance than help.

I never, ever take anything from the Tomb of Ysgramor (least of all Wuuthrad), so I've never had that shield. It also looks kinda silly.

The others I've never used, because I find their enchantments more or less useless.

Bleeding damage? Meh.
Power bashing causes a cool effect? I never take any of the bash perks.
Enemy becomes ethereal? Useless.
Dawnguard Rune Shield is just meh. I always leave it, along with other Lost Relics, in random containers in Fort Dawnguard.

Power bashing with Auriel's shield is...er...a little different. Normally, without perks, you can do a quick 'jab' bash. With perks, you can hold for a power bash that staggers them and may knock them down, but in my experience the windup often takes too long and they're 'out of your sights' by the time it goes.

With Auriel's shield, a power bash is very much like an unrelenting force shout. Picture being shield bashed by Superman.

I know what the bash does, I've seen it used. :)
My bad on the power bash. Hving to hold the bash button doesn't sound too great, though, so I still won't bother getting the shield.

Auriels Shield (for my bad a** undead slayer orc). Second best would be Shield Of Solitude cause i like the Wolf and Effects (not so much a fan of how small it is though)

This isn't smut. This was simply explaining why I don't generally carry (or display) Ysgramor's shield. Looks too much like the business end of a blow up doll.

I am absolutely terrified of your blow-up doll then.
