Kalin of High Rock

Faal Lun Vahdin
He's from a mod. Either Interesting NPCs or maybe Immersive Patrols? Maybe Inconsequential NPCs, maybe? He turned up in my early days of modding, where I was installing a flurry mods at a rate too fast to really keep track of who is from what.

I know he's in my game, usually around Riverwood. I'm not sure why he's not talking to you, though. What a jerk.

Mewness

imaginepageant isn't using Interesting NPCs (which is a shame). I think he's actually from LAL. I'm not sure whether he's directly involved with one of the alternate beginnings or not.

Epic Keith

By Ysmir you're going to FREEZE to death!
Sam is a wandering poison and potion merchant. Not sure why he wasn't talking to you.
Is he normally in the game or is he from a mod? I've never encountered him before so I assumed it was a mod.

He's from the Life another Life mod I guess.
Because when you do the LaL quest there is a part where you have to ask for rumors in Solitude or Windhelm. You will then be directed to Shady Sam who will take money from you to give the rumors. Then you will be directed to Darkwater crossing. (Or you could go directly to Helgen like you did in the video)

I didn't know the part about the poison merchant.

By the way, you contracted Sanguinare Vampiris or whatever it's called when the town attacked you. Might be why Shady Sam won't talk to you. Didn't know if you'd noticed or not yet so.

Oh yeah, I was healed at a shrine awhile back. I keep getting Ataxia so I've been to the shrine of Talos in Whiterun, like, half a dozen times so far.

I really like this! Makes it all the more interesting to see Skyrim played with mods too, me being a console user and all. ):

Tell me about it. My wife plays Skyrim too. We decided that it was time to look at computers, just to play Skyrim and use mods. After going to a few electronic and computer stores we quickly gave up on that idea. I didn't care for the notion of dropping at minimum of $700 (the cpu without changing anything out) just to get the basic requirements to run Skyrim.

I had the idea of of getting the cheaper CPU and changing out the graphics card, adding more memory, etc. Still close to the same price range. So i gave up on it for now.

I couldn't tell you my specs (I can check later if you want to know), but I play on a laptop that I bought brand new a year and a half ago for $500. The only issue I have with it playing Skyrim is that it can get slightly choppy in some areas, and whenever I have Fraps recording video. But it's certainly still playable. And I play with the graphics set to high. Seeing as how this is a laptop that is in no way a "gaming" laptop, you might be able to get a computer that plays Skyrim well for less than you think.

My old AMD pheneom x3, Radeon 4890 and 4 GB Ram runs skyrim pretty good in high/ultra (Mixed) if turn off antialiasing and low shadows. I even isntall some texture oackets from nexus (no 4k offcourse, only 1 GB VRAm and texture mods like more VRAM). it was like 30 - 40 fps.
etc...
Well Now I have I5 3670k OC 4.3 GHz, Asus 780 DC II OC, 16 GB ram runs with ultra, several graphic mods, Realvison ENB... now 45 - 60 fps.

Skyrim runs good even not so high tech computers, but with mods, you can lag every computers.

Laptop GPUs are about half of same desktop GPUs.

Thanks for the advice, but I don't think i could play on a laptop screen. Just way to small, and even though my TV has the laptop hook up for some reason it just doesn't want to work sometimes when we plug my wife's up.

I took my dad with me since he is a big computer guy. I gave him the specs and the only laptops we found that were capable of running it were $700+. I am going to do some digging online, but my hopes aren't that high.

I work in IT and build computers for friends all the time. I just recently built myself a new rig to run skyrim with 4k textures/ENB.

I could help you poke about for an affordable PC that would suit your needs. I assume from your posts you would want a tower, rather than a laptop, and also, would you be opposed to building one?

Before I really take a look, just price out components on amazon/newegg, I think you'll find you can build something that would run skyrim on ultra settings for around $500. Now, with that being said, you could run mods that add NPCs/quests/followers/gameplay changes, but you wouldn't really be able to retexture all of skyrim, or run any ENBs, my new graphics card alone cost ~$700 (EVGA GTX 780ti SC 3GB) and it still struggles with 2-4k textures/Full ENB/2k+ landscapes/Flora Mods. But in reality, vanilla skyrim is not that taxing on a system, and you could run everything she's running with no issues.

I would bet for $500, you could run the HD Texture pack optimized mod and still be fit as a fiddle when it comes to performance.

As far as graphical mods go, unfortunately as you start to creep up towards the highest quality in terms of graphical mods in Skyrim, the system requirements seem to grow exponentially. The gap from a Mid-range ENB and a few texture mods, to a Full version ENB with everything redone with tesselation and 2-4K textures is astronomical.

My old pc was an i5-2500K, SLI GTX 560ti 2gb, and 8GB of ram, and I could run a lite ENB and a few landscape mods and would be between 50-60fps, but anything more, and it would become unplayable. MY new one blows it out of the water, on paper, but still runs into some issues is highly forested areas.

I just might post a before and after video.
