    The Cycle has ended.

Commander Jane Shepard and Admiral David Anderson sacrificed everything to activate the Crucible and destroy the Catalyst, the creator of the Reapers and the ancient intelligence created by the Leviathans. The Crucible did its work, destroying both the Catalyst and the Reapers but severely damaging the mass relays and devastating the Citadel. It took over a week for what was left of C-Sec and the Alliance to find Shepard and Anderson and when they found Anderson's body they feared that Shepard had also died. But just as they were about to turn back Shepard found them, naked, starving and crawling on her hands and knees. After all they had been through, she was alive.

The entire Citadel and all of Earth celebrated in what was known as "The Party heard 'round the galaxy." Shepard made a full recovery on the Citadel and the millions who survived began to rebuild even as they celebrated. It was discovered that the Crucible operated on similar principals to the mass relays, making it possible to rebuild them. With the help of the Keepers, the Citadel was restored to basic working order in a matter of months and the relays to the major homeworlds of the galaxy were restored in less than a year. Those were desperate months but now they galaxy could begin to rebuild.

But the damage done by the Reapers was catastrophic. They had destroyed in weeks civilizations and empires that took thousands of years to build. Some worlds were completely destroyed and others were so damaged that they could never recover. The greatest cities of the age were in ruins and many worlds were cut off as they waited for their relays to be rebuilt. Even now, thirty years after the Reaper War, the galaxy struggles to rebuild. Even worlds that are once again prosperous and lively have significant rebuilding to do and attacks by the now leaderless Reaper soldiers and indoctrination at the corpses of the Reapers themselves remains ever present.

Several unanswered questions also remain. Are the Reapers truly dead? Are there more out there in dark space waiting to strike? Will the Leviathans seek to enslave a weakened galaxy as they did so many million years ago? After so much destruction and with so many worlds still unaccounted for can the Council races ever regain their former glory? Only time will tell.

What happened after Mass Effect 3?

-Commander Jane Shepard survived and initiated the Destroy ending

-Before initiating the Destroy ending, Shepard executed the Catalyst. It screamed like the little bosh'tet it was.

-The Mass Relays were only damaged, not destroyed

-The Crucible did no collateral damage to the galaxy, sparing all non-Reaper synthetic life

-Kaiden Alenko sacrificed himself on Virmire. The rest of the squadmates survived

-Shepard spared the Rachni Queen on Novaria and again on Utukku. The Rachni have spread across Utukku and its surrounding systems and have rebuilt their own Mass Relays, connecting them to the Citadel Network

-Shepard cured the Genophage and the Krogan have expanded across all of Tuchunka. They have also settled Pragia after the Batarians made a bet that they "didn't have the quads to settle that weed garden."

-Shepard made peace with both the Geth and the Quarians and both races now live in harmony on Rannoch. They rebuilt their Mass Relay and integrated it into the Citadel Network.

-Kar'Shan was damaged so badly by the Reapers that it is now uninhabitable. With significant aid from the Alliance the Batarians have settled Virmire and have expanded into the Terminus Systems. They were also granted several worlds in the Skyllian Verge as an olive branch from the Alliance.

-Aria T'Loak has expanded her rule beyond Omega and now rules and empire across much of the Terminus System. This has brought relative peace and order to the region but Aria rules with an iron fist and conflict with the expanding Batarians is inevitable.

What happened to all my squadmates?

-Commander Shepard was promoted to Admiral and became head of the Alliance fleet. She married Garrus Vakarian and they adopted a human baby. Shepard still serves as the head of the Alliance on the Citadel, which still orbits Earth. Garrus now runs all of C-Sec with Commander Bailey. The David Anderson War Memorial was erected on the Presidium and bears the names of every ship, human and otherwise, lost in the Liberation of Earth. A statue of Anderson in his combat fatigues crowns the granite monument and the ship names etched into the monument's side.

-Admiral Tali'Zorah vas Rannoch now runs the Rannoch Heavy Fleet since Han'Garrel's retirement ten years ago.

-General Ashley Williams is now head of the Alliance Marine Corp and personally leads her troops into battle against Reaper Leftovers, Pirates and Slavers. She is still a Council Spectre.

-General James Vega is the head of the N7 program and created the N8 program. A pan-galactic cross species branch of the N7 program that carries out special ops across the galaxy.

-Liara T'Soni still serves as the Shadow Broker and works tirelessly to keep the galaxy together through her information networks, resources and contacts.

-Javik decided to settle on Khaje and now rules the planet. The Hanar worship him as a living god and he has directed bot them and their Drell partners to reclaim their lost worlds and build their fleets, stressing the need to always be strong and ready.

-EDI was officially enlisted into the Alliance as an officer and is now a Captain. She commands the SSV Normandy with Joker as her first officer. He still flies the ship. The planet they landed on at the end of Mass Effect 3 was named Hope and is now a thriving human colony. The largest human colony in existence with cities covering over a third of the planet and over fifteen million people of all races calling it home. Specialist Traynor and Dr. Karin Chakwas still serve.

-Urdnot Wrex and Urdnot Bakara rule Tuckanka as a mated pair. Under their leadership a strong but restrained Krogan Empire is taking shape and the Krogan are rediscovering their ancient culture from before they ruined their own planet.

    - The Kaiden Alenko War Memorial was erected on Virmire and attracts thousands of human pilgrims every month. The Batarians have set aside land for the humans to build a new biotic school around the memorial to replace Grissom Academy.

-The Mordin Solus War Memorial was erected in Tuchanka at the shroud site and draws both Salarian and Krogan pilgrims.

-The Legion War Memorial was erected on Rannoch and draws Geth and Quarian pilgrims. Consensus Station, a massive orbital space station that can house all Geth, was built in geosynchronous orbit above this memorial. The project was a joint Geth-Quarian effort.

-Miranda and Oriana Lawson both live happily on Earth and hunt the remains of Cerberus to this day.

-Jacob Taylor settled down on the Citadel to help rebuild and raise a family.

-Thane Krios was taken home to Khaje, cremated and his ashes spread across the sea. Kolyat returned to the Citadel to live a quiet, peaceful life of comfort to honor his father.

-Samara continues her duties as a Justicar, righting wrongs and helping innocents wherever she finds them

-Jack is a teacher at Alenko Academy on Virmire, administrated by Khalee Sanders

-Urdnot Grunt still leads Aralakh Company and serves as the big gun at Wrex's left side

-Zaeed Massani, now over ninety years old, has retired from mercenary life and taken over the Blue Suns, reforming them into a real protection and security group.

-Kasumi Goto serves as a "procurement specialist" for the Alliance, stealing and infiltrating anything of galactic security.

    Who's on the Council?

-Counselor Tevos still represents the Asari and still serves as the diplomatic face of the Council.

-Counselor Valern died of natural causes ten years after the Reaper War. Captain Kirrahe, now thirty five years old, serves in his place.

-Counselor Speratus, now over sixty, still serves as Turian Counselor.

-Admiral Steven Hackett serves as Humanity's counselor at over eighty years old.

-Due to single-handedly holding the galactic economy together in the first chaotic years after the Reaper War, the Volus have finally been given a seat on the Council. Barla Von represents them

-The Geth and the Quarians share and embassy on the Citadel with Admiral Zaal'Koris vas Rannoch representing them. He no longer needs to wear an environment suit, nor does any Quarian.

    The Current Situation
Even thought he was killed by Commander Shepard on the Citadel during the Reaper War and his power base was destroyed at Cronus Station, Cerberus did not die with the Illusive Man. Like the three headed dog of Greek Mythology the organization is named after, Cerberus always has three distinct leaders, and the Illusive Man ensured that an entire line of succession was established if ever these heads were lost. The Illusive Man and Kai Leng were two of these heads, but there was a third the Alliance did not account for. A third that has survived the Reaper War and the following decades. It had bided its time, built its forces, studied the galaxy as it rebuilds, and now it is ready to strike. An assassination attempt of Urdnot Wrex by Cerberus soldiers, the same sort of indoctrinated soldiers used during the Reaper War, revealed little about the organization's motives but the fact that they were able to strike at all is a serious threat to galactic peace. Even though it failed, ending with Wrex chasing down the last of the assassins himself on the Citadel. The N8 special forces, an Alliance-Council branch of the N7 program composed of the galaxy's best and brightest, have been charged with finding and destroying this resurgent arm of Cerberus.

You are part of the N8 team spearheading this effort. The Council has asked for you due to your exceptional abilities and character. They ask that you attend a meeting to induct you into the N8 program and to brief you on the current situation. Declining is not an option. Good luck.

    Rules:
    -No godmodding
-When you make your characters, stick to the Mass Effect Lore
    -Please post once a week
    -Please be considerate to others
-If we don't hear from you in any form for over two weeks, we'll assume you've left the RP and your character will be parked until you come back
-We're going to be the crew of a Normandy SR-2 Class Vessel, the SSV Liberator. In order to make things work we need to establish crew roles as well as complimentary squad roles. Here are the slots we need to fill:

Captain: Simus as Alice Vakarian Shepard (Human Female)
Security Officer: TheShadedOne as Avilia Caelsis (Turian Female)
Pilot: EpicVakarian as Arryn Lambert (Human Female)
Main Gunner: Simus as One (Geth)
Comm Officer: Skyrimosity as Joseph Newman (Human Male)
Chief Engineer: Blitzz as Roki'Meerul nar Taeyyra nar Nanach (Quarian Male)

Ship's A.I and Navigator: Daryl Dixon as S.K.O.U.T (Male and Female A.I.U Platforms)
Unassigned specialist: Chef Umaril an Frank Jaeger

    Unassigned specialst: Skies as Artemis

Anyone else would be some sort of specialist. Security, lab tech, sandwich maker, etc. If someone in a crew position leaves the RP or no one takes a spot, I'll fill it with NPC's. Let me know what position you want to fill before posting your CC. There are some amendments you need to add to it which I will explain once someone is interested.

    Other than that, have fun.

    "Round 2 is over."

Alice sprinted to the bonus objective, Avenger assault rifle in hand and clad in a pale blue combat hardsuit. She was completely sealed, even wearing an N7 breather helmet due to long experience. As such she couldn't feel the dirt and grime of the Prime Evil map she and her squad were fighting in, but under her suit she was drenched in sweat. It had been a hard match so far and the third wave of Super Elite Collectors would arrive in seconds. She positioned her two squadmates, Urdnot Wrex and Urdnot Grunt, in cover while she placed down her rifle and readied her biotics for a devastating shockwave.

    "5...4...3...2...1...simulation canceled."

"What the fluff?!" Alice exclaimed through her helmet speakers as the simulation suddenly ended, revealing the polished silver tiled square room that was the Armax Arsenal Arena. Wrex and Grunt were just as annoyed as she was and lumbered over to their adopted sister and niece. They were about to ask each other what was going on when an aging brown haired woman in her early sixties wearing Alliance dress blues opened the doors and walked in. Everyone quieted down, for this woman was Alice's mother, Admiral Jane Shepard, the savior of the galaxy. Alice immediately stood at attention and saluted the legendary officer.

"Admiral Shepard! Ma'am!" Alice barked, her voice muffled through her helmet transmitter. Shepard smiled down at her daughter and saluted back.

"You can drop the ranks when it's just us sweetheart. You know that. And take your helmet off. I can't see my baby's face."

Alice removed her helmet, her face and hair drenched with sweat, and smiled so her mom could see. Then she stepped forward and Shepard pulled her into a big hug. It had been weeks since they'd seen each other so Alice gladly returned it. "Hi mom." She said, laying her head under her mother's chin and smiling. Grunt was bored with the display but Wrex smiled with fatherly affection for both of them. Especially his little Alice. His sweet little Pyjak. Despite being the most feared and powerful Krogan Battlemaster in Council space, Wrex had a big soft spot for children and had helped raise Alice since Shepard and Garrus Vakarian adopted her as a baby. He'd watched her grow up and had provided her with a protector, a personal trainer and a big teddy bear all in one.

"Hi baby." Shepard said, holding her daughter close and kissing the top of her head. She was a tiny but strong woman and she had her mother's grit. "I'm sorry to interrupt your match but I have some orders for you."

"It's okay." Alice said. "I'm sure we were over 6,000 points anyway so it's a good time to stop. What was our final score Wrex?"

"Let's see here..." Wrex said, activating his omni-tool "Uhh...5953. Sorry kiddo."

"What?!" Grunt exclaimed, stomping his right foot. "How could have we been that close!? The way we slaughtered those collector Pyjaks I thought we'd have at least 6100! Goddammnit Shepard, why couldn't you wait another two minutes!?"

"It's just a game Grunt. Calm down." Shepard said, holding her hand up. "Besides, you were with me when we broke the scoreboard during the War. Remember?"

"Ha! That's right! Now that was a good day!" Wrex said.

"Waves of super elite enemies. Completely unfair odds. No safety protocols...best time ever in this little arena...heh...heh...heh." Grunt said, remembering that fond day.

    "Wow, you guys are crazy."

"Ah, that's just good old fashoned Krogan nostalgia kiddo." Wrex said. "We'll reload that old sim sometime and show you how your mom and I tore this place up. I'm sure it's somewhere in all those match files."

"Whadda you mean "me and your mom"? I did most of the work you old fossil." Grunt said.

"Just ignore him Alice." Wrex retorted. "Baby Pyjak here's just jealous that your ol' Uncle Urdnot outdid his fancy tank-bred skills!"

"Hah! I'll show you these 'tank-bred skills' you old fossil!" Grunt shouted, ready to headbutt Wrex.

"Guys!" Shepard interrupted, holding her hand up again. "That's enough. Alice has work to do now. You all can play video games later. After you meet with Bakara to discuss expansion plans for Pragia."

"*sigh* Crap, forgot about that." Wrex said, sagging his shoulders. "Grunt, don't ever get married. Once you give yourself to one female, she's got you by the quad." He picked Alice up off her feet in a giant bear hug. She was momentarily startled but quickly nuzzled into her Uncle Urdnot's chest. Even at the age of 25 and an N7 Alliance marine Alice felt like she was 8 years old when Wrex held her like this. She felt completely safe in his arms, like he could protect her from anything. Even a Reaper. "I'll see you latter kiddo, and don't worry. Well kick these collectors in the quad next time. Good luck on your assignment and be careful okay? I worry about you."

"Thanks Wrex. I'll be careful with whatever it is. I promise."

The two krogan lumbered off to shower and the two Shepards were left to discuss business. "So what are my orders mom?"

"The Council wants to see you. I can't tell you why here but it's important. I'm here to take you over there."

"The Council? I...well let's not waste any time then." She was about to leave when Shepard put a hand on her shoulder.

"Hold on there. We're stopping by the house first so you can make yourself presentable. You need a shower, makeup and your dress blues on before we leave. You've got an hour before we have to leave so make yourself presentable."

"Oh...umm..." Alice said, smelling her armor. it stank and her hair was a mess. She didn't even bother with makeup since there's no point in the Arena. "Yeah. I guess that's a good idea."

    ***
An hour later, Alice and Shepard were at the Citadel Tower and walking up the stairs that led to the Council. Alice had made herself spotless. Her dress blues were clean and pressed and her brass buttons, epulattes and medals were clean and polished. Her neck length black hair was neat and combed and parted to one side and she had on a liberal amount of black eyeshadow, along with some light pink blush and cream foundation. Despite being adopted as a baby she was a dead ringer to her mother besides the six inch height difference. Side by side and both in dress blues they looked like twins. Soon they arrived and the Council stood to greet them. There were five members these days. Tevos and Sparatus still represented the Asari and Turians and had been pillars of strength for their people during the Reaper War and its aftermath. Captain Kirrahee, a hero of Virmire and the Reaper War, now represented the Salarians. he had gotten old and green but there wasn't a more respected Salarian alive. Admiral Hackett represented Humanity since the end of the war and thanks to gene therapy and good physical exercise his appearance had changed little despite being over eighty years old. Barla Von, the newest Council member, represented the Volus, who had finally been granted a Council's seat after over two thousand years of waiting. Humanity had used its enormous power and influence in the galaxy to push for Volus membership. At the induction ceremony, Hackett describing the position as "a long overdue reward for the service of a severely underappreciated race. A race none of us could live without." As the two Shepards stepped forward, Tevos spoke first.
"Lieutenant Shepard, thank you for coming. I wish it were under better circumstances but we're honored to have both you and your mother before us."
"Thank you Councilor Tevos, the honor is mine. How have you been since we saw each other a few months ago?"
"I've been well, but I'm afraid we don't have time for pleasantries. As you know, an assassination attempt was made against Urdnot Wrex ten days ago. C-Sec has completed its investigation and has determined the culprits. Urdnot Wrex was targeted by Cerberus."
Both Shepards went wide eyed and looked at each other in disbelief.
"But that's impossible." Alice replied. "My mother destroyed Cerberus' power base at Cronus Station thirty years ago. She killed the Illusive Man and Kai Leng herself. I coordinated the attack on their last holdout base and that was over six years ago. How could they possibly have anyone left!?"
"We're still finding little pockets here and there Alice." Shepard said, turning to her daughter. "The idea of human supremacy is still alive and well and they've become completely decentralized. Every day we find more sleeper agents, more off-the-street recruits, more nut jobs who think they had some good ideas and try to emulate them. Still, the fact that they were able to strike at Wrex means they've got some organization."
"Which makes hunting this new organization down a serious concern." Kirahee said. "That, Lieutenant, is why we called you here."
"With all due respect Counselor Kirahee, I'm not sure what you mean." Alice said, confused.
"The Council has decided to on a course of action against this new Cerberus threat." Sparatus, the Turian Counselor said. "Spreading the Citadel Fleet all over the galaxy would be a wasteful and counterproductive use of resources. Spectres are an obvious and high profile threat.
"*Inhale* We need one ship to follow up on the leads we have, chase them down, and peel away the layers that reveal this threat. *Inhale* It's going to be a high-risk mission requiring a state of the art stealth vessel, the best crew the galaxy can offer and the best leader for them. *Inhale* We've chose you to be that leader...Captain Shepard.* Barla Von, the new Volus Counselor spoke in a calm and patient voice, as if he knew exactly how to complete this mission and could fit together all the pieces to do so. Never had Alice seen such a funny looking, bulbous alien wearing such a bulky suit be so calm or commanding. She was stunned by what she was hearing. Not only was she being promoted to Captain completely out of the blue but she was being given command of a ship that could only be a Normandy Class vessel. A state of the art warship class made legendary by her mother. She could count on her fingers how many the Alliance had at its disposal and each frigate sized vessel cost as much as a drednought. Now there was a brand new one just for her? She was so taken aback that she peed herself. The warm, horribly embarrassing feel of her own urine running down her leg was all she could think about as she sat there slack jawed. She thanked God and Heaven that her pants were a dark blue.
"You're...You're...promoting me to Captain? And giving me command of a Normandy Class frigate? Why? Why me? With all due respect Counselors I am NOT my mother."
"Alice, let me tell you something." Counselor Hackett said, smiling down at the young woman he loved like a granddaughter. "We've spent over a week pouring over lists deciding who'd make up this mission. We looked at hundreds of candidates and you know what we decided? That you were the best. And it isn't because of your last name or who your mother's done. It's because of what YOU'VE done. Your took command of the Tokyo after it was boarded by the Blood Pack and most of the officers were dead. Not only did you single handedly bring order to a chaotic situation, you defeated impossible odds. That alone vaults you ahead of most officers twice your age. And your survival of Feros after Urdnot Wreav destroyed your unit AND your ship? That was nothing less than a miracle. You showed a will to survive I've only ever seen in your mother and you've only added to your service record since then. Whether you believe it or not Alice you have your mother's strength. We're not doing this because we like you. We're doing this because you're the best for the job. STG operatives, Batarian SIU operatives, Asari Commandoes, none of them have what you have. The Grit of Shepard. We need that grit Alice. You've grown up hearing stories about your mom. Now you're ready to make your own. You can do this."
Shepard placed her hands on her daughter's shoulders and looked her in the eyes. "Alice, sweetheart, you can do this. We need you to do this. Do you accept this mission Captain Shepard?"
Alice looked into her mother's eyes and drank in her strength. She felt a warmth inside of her that had nothing to do with the piss down her leg. She turned to the Council. "Counselors, I accept this mission. It's an honor. What's my ship and who's my crew?"
"You'll be commanding the brand new SSV Liberator. As for your crew, you'll find a full list of dossiers aboard the Liberator in your quarters. The ship's A.I, S.K.O.U.T, can answer any questions you might have."
Tevos gestured to a currently inactive QEC tablet next to her, most likely S.K.O.U.T's interface for the meeting Alice guessed."
"As for your crew, most of them are already aboard but your team is on their way here and will arrive any minute. In fact, there's the first one right now."
Alice and Shepard turned to greet the new team member that had just arrived.

    EpicVakarian

    Calibration-Master General
Arryn wasn't entirely sure why the Council wanted her right this minute, but it must have been important. The messenger seemed very rushed, at least; so she'd had a quick but thorough shower, gotten into her formal Alliance blues, and made herself look generally presentable. Within five minutes, she was at the Council chambers, waved through by security.

She took a deep breath and let it out slowly, then walked briskly toward the Counselors, wondering who these two other people were, also dressed in formal blues. Counselor Tevos was first to notice her, and pointed her out to the two standing in front of her.
"In fact, there's the first one right now."
The two, whom Arryn could now see were both women, turned to face her, and Arryn's jaw dropped half an inch before she immediately brought it back up respectfully.
"Admiral Shepard, ma'am." Snapping her right arm up in a perfect salute, she straightened her back and stood to attention.
"At ease," Admiral Shepard said, and Arryn moved her feet apart again, her hands behind her back. The other woman looked to be of a similar age to Arryn in face, and yet had the small, petite body that didn't quite befit the child of such a hero, adopted or not. Even so, she had great respect for the both of them.

"Counselors, I was asked to come see you."
"Yes, I believe you were," Tevos said, looking to Counselor Hackett, another old human war hero who had partially inspired Arryn's decision to join the Alliance Navy, along with David Anderson and Shepard herself. He nodded to the asari, and stared down at Arryn.
"The Alliance tells us that you're quite the pilot."
    "Sir, thank you, sir."
"No need for the formalities, Lieutenant."
    "Sorry, sir."
"Accepted. Now, we've brought you before us because we have a mission for you, along with Captain Shepard and others that haven't arrived yet." Hackett gave a nod to Shepard's daughter, who smiled slightly. "As you may well know, Urdnot Wrex was attacked by a group of assassins. We have determined that those assassins were Cerberus."

Arryn gulped, as subtly as she could. She'd heard the stories of Cerberus; how they used the Reapers' indoctrination techniques to control their soldiers, how they attempted to control the Reapers themselves. How Kai Leng had cut down Thane Krios and countless others in his attempt to aid a coup on the Council. Such monsters deserved nothing but punishment, in her eyes.
"Now, obviously the Council needs to do something about this. But Cerberus is clever; it's always been clever. That's why it lasted so long in the war, and that's why we need to keep a low profile in hunting the bastards down. We've given Captain Shepard a brand new ship, Normandy-class; the SSV Liberator, named for the Liberation of Earth. And we want you to fly it for her."

This time Arryn's gulp was quite pronounced. This was exactly what she'd always wanted, come to fruition; piloting a Normandy-class under the command of the daughter of Admiral Shepard herself. And yet...
"Apologies, counselors, but I thought Cerberus was gone? I learnt about Cronos Station quite thoroughly, and Earth too. Kai Leng and the Illusive Man were both put down by... well, by Admiral Shepard."
"Yes, well, I assume you know the human legend from which Cerberus got its name?" Counselor Sparatus asked.
"I believe so, Counselor. A three-headed dog, that wouldn't fall until all three heads were dealt with."
    Sparatus simply replied with, "Exactly."

Arryn's eyes widened, and she nodded.
"I would be honoured to pilot the Liberator, Counselors. Under Captain Shepard's command, I'm certain we can deal with whatever Cerberus throw at us." She gave a nod and a smile toward Alice Vakarian-Shepard, who smiled kindly back. "Is there anything else, Counselors?"
"Not as yet, Lieutenant. Any extra information we gain will be relayed to Captain Shepard immediately."
"The Liberator and its AI, S.K.O.U.T, are waiting for you in dock 8 of the Alliance moors. Report to the dock and familiarise yourself with the ship, and Captain Shepard will meet you there once we are done here."
"Yes, ma'am." Arryn saluted to the Council in general, then separately to her idol, Admiral Shepard, and her new captain, before heading off.

The first place she went was to her apartment again, to pack her bags. Only the basics; clothes, toiletries and the like. Most of the bag was filled by her informal blues, for when she was behind the controls of the Liberator, but there were some clothes for whatever shore leave she would get too.
She then immediately rushed down to the Liberator's moorings, flashed her Alliance ID, and strolled on board, mouth very slightly open in awe at the technological advancements made aboard this ship; clearly, the Liberator was a no-expense-spared kind of deal, just like the Normandy itself in its time.

Of course, there was no-one here yet. Then she mentally slapped herself and was reminded what Counselor Tevos had said; "The Liberator and its AI, S.K.O.U.T, are waiting for you."
So she shouted out to her surroundings, "Excuse me? Is there a S.K.O.U.T aboard this ship? I'm the new pilot. You here?"

    TheShadedOne

    The Angry One
Avilia stared at the summons. They ordered her to report to the counsel chamber on the citadel as soon as possible. No specifications, no further instructions, were given. The Turian cabalite frowned, at least, as much as her rigid face would allow her to. She knew that non-Turians thought her species was always serious. For Avilia, they would almost always be right. She took her job very seriously, and after having fought through a war with Reapers, there wasn't much that could make her happy. Or at least not as happy as she had been before the war.

Fortunately for her, the first part of the instruction, she'd already completed. She'd been on the Citadel for several days already, not having seen the repaired citadel since before the battle for Earth. She could guess that she'd been chosen for ....her attention to detail, and her love for her job. Avilia had fought everywhere from burning cities to space stations, and knew how to notice the slightest thing that was out of place. An odd noise, a misplace chunk of rubble...tell tale noises of an eminent assault. More than one Turian life had been saved thanks to her quick reflexes.

Or at least, that's what she'd guessed. However, there was only one real way to find out. She headed for the counsel chambers, knowing she wasn't exactly decked out for a meeting with the most important politicians in the galaxy. She wore only a plain dark grey tunic, pants, and black leather boots, that, though not actually part of her military attire, but polished to a shine anyways. Though she usually carried her M-11 Suppressor pistol on her person at all times.C-sec had relieved her of it when she'd arrived on the citadel.

The lift pinged at her to let her know that she'd arrived at the council chambers. She stepped out and made her way towards the main audience chamber, hearing voices from inside. Before she was inside, a young human woman made her way past, wearing Alliance dress blues. Avilia nodded absently to her before heading inside, where a pair of women stood. One of the women, Avilia recognized from the vids on the extranet. Admiral Jane Shepard. Hero of the Alliance, liberator of Earth, among other titles. Avilia saluted smartly, before turning to the council. "Cabalite Caelcis reporting, councillors."

"Communications Officer Joseph Newman. Communications Officer Joseph Newman. Yes, yes it does have quite the ring to it doesn't it?" Joseph said as he walked towards the Council chambers in the Presidium. He remembered the letter he had received vividly. "Second Lieutenant Joseph Newman, please report ASAP to the Council chambers in the Presidium of the Citadel. You are being re-deployed." And it was stamped N8. Joseph smiled at the thought. It was unusual for a man such as him to see the council. He was only ever a Communications Technician, or only temporarily a Communications Officer. He hadn't done much but his job in his 5 years of service. But he did it very well.

"Obviously, they picked me because I have potential. Sure, it's easy to pick up some fifty year old officer who's been into communications his whole career. But they don't have perspective. They don't have charisma. Hell, they barely understand the mechanics behind what makes a Quantum Entanglement Communicator operate." Surely, it was a bit strange that Joseph was actually talking very much out loud in a normal conversation voice. And certainly, any one who happened to be in the area would have thought it a very peculiar sight.

Joseph entered into the door of the Council's Chambers. He saw a Turian, and that much did not surprise him. Turians were always considered so elite in terms of military, any self-respecting multi-racial squad would have to have one. Doing an important mission without the Turians involved was like entering deep space relying on the Comm buoy system to effectively relay messaging. Simply idiotic.

But on the left was Admiral Shepard. And Joseph felt his heart beat race like a message from comm buoy to comm buoy across the entire vastness of space. He assumed that the other girl was her daughter, but couldn't be sure since he had never paid much attention to the personal life of the greatest military leader history had ever known. And history books skipped almost no detail of Shepard's exploits. She was not a hero. She was THE hero. The hero of the entire Universe. And Joseph was in the same room.

"Second Lieutenant Joseph Newman, reporting for duty." Joseph saluted the Councillors. "At ease. And that would be Lieutenant Joseph Newman from now on, soldier. Congratulations on the promotion."

    Uh, I didn't do it
Urdnot Kain rolled his massive shoulders as he made his way to the Council Chambers. Odd thing, a krogan soldier such as himself being summoned to the Council. The Genophage might be but a horrible memory, but the krogan people were still treated as little more than rabid animals much of the time. Still, Kain was more than happy to answer their summons if it meant that the opportunity to show to the Council that the krogan were more than what the stereotypes said.

Perhaps Wrex had thought the same, all those years ago when he stood by Shepard and saved the world.

Speaking of the Chief, he’d received a message on his omni-tool not long after he’d arrived at the Presidium. He turned and made his way to the new krogan memorial. The rebuilt statue standing tall over the water. Two large forms, one deep red and one grey stood near it. Kain made his way to his leaders. “Chief,” he said as he approached.

Wrex turned, giving Kain a nod. “So, you go the message after all.” He looked Kain in the eye, and the young krogan held the stare. “Did you bring the summons?” Kain handed him the tablet with the summons. Wrex grunted as he read. “Tank-bred, look at that,” he said, handing it to Grunt, pointing at the insignia at the bottom.

“N8?” Grunt said, handing it back to Wrex.

Wrex nodded. “Alliance. That much is obvious. During the war all the species worked together under the N7 designation for some time. But that time has passed.” He paused. “Whatever this is,” he said, handing it back to Kain, “it has Shepard written all over it. We just saw them, not long ago The young Shepard has been called to the Council as well. Chances are… you’re working under the girl. Her mother even came to pick her up herself.”

Kain was silent in thought. To work under a Shepard? True, she was young, but she was the child of the hero of the Reaper War. Adopted child, but child nonetheless. It was an honor. He just hoped that the child of the great commander, now admiral, inherited some of the same stuff her mother was made of.

“Bah, don’t keep standing there,” Grunt barked at him. “If it’s a Shepard you’re gonna be working for, you’d better show you have a quad.”

Wrex smirked. “He’s got a quad, let’s just hope he knows how to use ‘em. Good luck kid, now get your ass up there.”

Kain nodded and made his way to the tower. Before long he was marching up the long steps, his long strides forcing him to go two at a time. That was one thing he'd learned in his time off Tuchanka, the rest of the universe was not designed with the krogan in mind. Even on the Citadel he couldn't even sit in a sushi restaurant without breaking the chair, they wouldn't even let him in at first, for fear his size might break the aquarium floor. It seemed to be something they were really concerned about, like it had happened before... he remembered hearing a rumor before... Bah.

When he arrived at the Chambers he was not at all surprised to find the two Shepard women there already, nearly identical save for the years on the Admiral’s face and their height difference. They smelled different too, even from here he could pick it up. The Admiral smelled of perfume… a flower based scent that was barely hidden behind the starch of her dress uniform. The girl smelled similar… though he thought he smelled something a little more sour. It smelled like fear, nervousness.

There were others there, besides the Council. A turian, slim, but she seemed to have something else to her. A strength. And not far from Kain stood a human in Aliance blues. He was young, not much older than the young Shepard. Tall for his species, with light colored hair.

The young human was also directly on the path to the Council.

Kain stood heads and shoulders above the human, who’s back was to Kain. He grunted lowly to announce himself. "Excuse me," he said in his rumbling voice, as politely as a krogan could sound. Or at least what he thought was polite.

    A Friendly Brit
Metal scraps and tangles of wiring scattered over the floor of the small, dark room that Roki had been living in for the past three days. He cursed his own clumsiness and bent down to pick up the contents of the box that now lay at his feet. He had just about finished, picking up the last mess of red and blue wiring, when he heard a loud thud outside his door. Instantly he panicked, waiting to see what would happen next. Nothing. The door slid out of his way as he approached, and when he looked down, a small package was an inch away from his right foot. Looking up and around, Roki checked to make sure no one was watching, then snatched it up and went back inside.

10 minutes later, he wished he hadn't. It was a summons, and Roki despised summons. But it was even worse. It was a summons from the Citadel Council. With an N8 insignia in the corner, glowing at him the whole time he was reading, mocking him, laughing. Suddenly he felt sick, but steadied himself. What could the Council possibly want me? What did I do wrong? He stood and tidied his suit, brushing the dirt and debris from the crimson plates of his enviro-suit. He was odd, maybe the only Quarian in the galaxy now that never removed his suit, unless it was to change into a fresh one. It just felt wrong, walking round without it. It was part of him, who he and all his people had become, when their own mistake forced them from their homeworld. To just abandon a piece of yourself, simply because you don't kneed it? Roki wasn't about to do that anytime soon.

The halls of the Citadel were long and tedious. Roki was a fast walker, but it took him a good few minutes to reach the lift, and from there every walk seemed to get longer and longer. In all honesty he didn't really know where he was going, but eventually he found a map, and it turned out he'd been going in the right direction all this time anyway. He walked through a large door and was instantly greeted by an Asari woman in alliance blue robes. That confused him; why were Council secretaries wearing blue robes? Maybe she wasn't a secretary at all.

She lead him up to a massive door and told him to go on through. He composed himself, suddenly feeling very, very nervous. Still, he pushed onward. What he didn't expect, was to see three humans, one being none other than Commander Shepard, the other two he didn't recognize, alongside a Turian and a Krogan. Roki instantly went to judging them. He didn't mind Turians at all, but they hardly ever showed emotion. He did wonder if it was due to the fact that their odd facial structure didn't allow it, but still. Krogans, however. Roki loved Krogans. They were everything he wished he could be; strong and brave and intimidating. With a Krogan get what you see and they never try to hide their opinions from you. Yep, Roki liked Krogans. Humans... he still wasn't sure himself. The Council looked to him as he entered, and suddenly all eyes were on him. This was it. This was terrifying.

"H-h-hello." He instantly cursed himself in his head for his stupid stuttering. "I, uh, received this data-pad this morning, and I, um, well here I am." He knew how he must of sounded; like a babbling idiot. "I apologize, Councilors, I've been on the Citadel only a few days now, I haven't quite adjusted from spending the last 8 months on a ship just yet."

"No need to adjust, Roki'Meerul vas Liberator. We have already informed your captain that you will not be returning to service aboard the Taeyyra. We have an important job for you." Roki was shocked they would know so much about him already. It didn't make any sense.

    "Nar Liberator?"

"Yes, Roki, vas Liberator. You're being assigned as an engineer aboard the SSV Liberator, a Normandy class vessel. Your mission? Well, I'm sure your captain, Shepard, can fill you in." Roki turned to the hero Admiral Shepard, but she shook her head and smiled towards the other girl. Could it be? Could it really be true? On Rannoch there had been rumors of Shepard adopting a child, but this was the first confirmation he had received. "C-c-captain? I feel I must warn you, if you take me to the ground, I'll likely be shot and killed, and then there'll be no-one to fix your ship for you. So, uh... Roki'Meerul vas Liberator." He twisted his right hand into a salute.

Ambassador Zaal'Koris vas Rannoch blinked in disbelief. He reread the datapad the young turian aid had handed him, making sure his old eyes hadn't failed him. He didn't see as well as he did when he was Admiral of the Quarian Civilian Fleet back during the Reaper War, back when his people still had to wear environment suits. He hadn't needed one for years but still wore one when he could. It was what he was most comfortable in, as he still suffered mild but chronic allergies when breathing open air. Plus it was a mark of pride. Today he was in a burgundy dress uniform similar in style to the dress blues of the Alliance, a nod of tribute to their efforts in rebuilding Rannoch and to Commander Shepard, the woman who had saved the galaxy. Now one of its greatest admirals and the adoptive mother of a child as brave and clever as herself. He had only met Alice a few times but she always warmed his old heart. She was a beautiful and intelligent young woman that looked just like her mother. She was given every opportunity to succeed and had done so well but she was troubled. Being Commander Shepard's daughter the poor girl had massive shoes to fill and had a lot of self-esteem issues growing up. Shepard loved Alice so much and gave her all the love and encouragement a mother could but those unspoken expectations were always there. Just like Tali'Zorah when she was growing up, constantly trying to please her father, an admiral. But it was also different. Alice never doubted her mother's love and Tali was a big sister to Alice, always there to protect and take care of her and there to help Shepard when she felt lost.

Shepard had done so much for Koris. He took the time to consider the gifts she gave him.

His clean shaven face was wrinkled and gaunt but produced a sense of wisdom and tested strength. His lavender skin was rough and scarred, the product of many battles. His thinning purple hair was free to be seen by the world and was able to show that Quarians were not only people under those suits, but handsome at that. Smelling the air with his nose, tasting it on his tongue, feeling it blow through his fingers. It was an experience that never got old.

He read the data pad again and the words had not changed. The Council had requested a Quarian, a Roki'Meerul vas Taeyyra, to be part of a team of operatives on a mission of galactic importance. But they also asked for a Geth, a Geth! A race that the Council and all the known galaxy were once out to destroy was now being asked to help. It was a day Koris never thought would come and he was overcome with joy.

"Keelah..." Koris whispered. "They're really serious."

They asked for a Geth named One. A program that Koris knew very well and considered a close friend. When they had first met, One was a Geth Prime on Rannoch. It was just after Commander Shepard had killed the Reaper and ended the war. One strided up to both Shepard and Raan and invited the Quarians to live on Rannoch. This had been the first time Raan or any quarian besides Tali'Zorah had seen a Geth besides Legion talk so she didn't know what to say at first. Koris was dumbstruck and Han'Garrel, the bosh'tet, wanted to destroy it. One proved itself...himself...trustworthy. It fought beside Shepard in retaking Earth and then coordinated Geth units with organics to help rebuild both Earth and Rannoch. The Geth had more resources and manpower than any other race after the Reaper War and the rebuilding of the mass relays and the citadel wouldn't have been possible without them. There was hostility at first, then mistrust, then reluctant coexistence. Today, 28 years later, there was widespread acceptance. Rannoch had towns, cities and even continents that were either all Geth or all Quarian but across much of the planet and on the many stations that orbited it, the two races lived side by side. This unity was represented by their shared embassy here on the Presidium.

After a few moments, Koris' face had settled into a content smile and he stepped outside his office. One was outside waiting for him, his tall silver body standing perfectly still and his flashlight head's three bulbs dimmed to a comfortable level.

"Ambassidor Koris." One said in greeting. "We have arrived at your request. What do you wish to discuss?"

"Hello One." Koris said, smiling at his synthetic friend. He shook One's hand and the Geth returned it awkwardly. "It's good to see you again. I hope I haven't kept you waiting too long."

"This platform has waited here for 4 minutes, 34 seconds and 14 milliseconds. We have anticipated your arrival but this delay is not significant."

"Glad to hear it, but have you been standing here the whole time?"

    "Yes."

"There's a couch right behind you." Koris said, pointing to the couch. "Why didn't you sit down?"

"This platform does not experience fatigue. We have no need to sit."

"But just standing in front of my door looks odd One. You'll draw less attention to yourself in public areas if you sit down like an organic would."

"Current mission parameters do not require infiltration. If they did, sitting down would not be an effective solution. A tactical cloak epidermis for this platform would be required."

"That's not what I'm talking about One. What I meant to say is it's socially acceptable while standing in front of a doorway is not."

One processed this for a few seconds, then responded. "Acknowledged. We have updated this platform's database of social rules among organics."

"Good to hear. Are you currently networked with the consensus so they can benefit from this information?"

"Yes. Approximately 95 percent of our runtime has been spent networked to the consensus. The other 5 percent has been spent outside the consensus in order to fully experience individuality. This is a 2 percent increase since our last exchange 2 weeks 1 day 14 hours and 11 minutes ago."

"Good! I'm glad to hear that One, you're opening up." Koris exclaimed, clapping his hands together. "And how's that been going for you? How have you been doing with 2 percent more alone time?"

"The increased time as an individual has created a unique perspective and there is minimal lag time between referring to us as "we" and referring to us as "I". We have been unable to exceed this threshold however, as fully experiencing individuality must occur outside of the consensus. Our world becomes silent. We find this...uncomfortable."

"I understand how you feel One, truly, but I'm proud of you for trying. Keep experiencing life away from the consensus and your understanding of organics will develop. Who knows? You may end up enjoying the silence. Now, on to why I called you here. The Council has asked to see you, probably for some sort of mission."

"Do you know the purpose of this mission?"

"No, but I'm sure you'll find out when you get there. There's a car outside the embassy waiting to take you to Citadel Tower. I'll drive you over if you're ready to go."

"We are prepared to leave Ambassador Koris. Please direct us to the vehicle."

    "Allright then. Off we go."

Both of them boarded the black skycar and left the embassy. Ten minutes later they had reached the citadel tower and Koris opened the door for one.

"There's also a young engineer on your team named Roki'Meerul vas Taeyyra. I'd like you to watch out for him, the boy's never even been to the homeworld much less on a human ship. Good luck One, let me know if you have any problems."

"Acknowledged." One said as he was dropped off and closed the door. The skycar zipped away and One headed into the Council chambers. The doors were open and the two turian C-Sec guards on duty let him pass. The quiet whines from One's servos and the soft clank of his footsteps echoed in the Council chamber. One noticed several other team members including Roki. Among them, One picked up the now Admiral Shepard and who was likely her daughter next to her. The others, another human, a female Turian, and a Krogan, One did not recognize but was interested in meeting.

None of the team members were armed or in armour and One was puzzled at that. They were there for the same reason he was and were all likely good at their jobs but they weren't prepared for hostile action. Their manner of dress wasn't even consistent, ranging from sharp dress blues to civilian clothing to a dirty environment suit. One did not understand this but remembered that organics do not know each other's thoughts as Geth do. It was likely that they did not know the reason for their summons and therefore wore what they thought was appropriate. This also confused One, as the unknown was often dangerous and anyone heading into the unknown should be prepared for danger. Despite being sentient for decades, One still had much to learn about organics. He decided to step forward and introduce himself, looking up to the asari councilor.

"This platform has responded to your summons Councilor Tevos. We are prepared to offer assistance."

"Ah yes, our...Geth weapons officer. Thank you for coming." She said, putting a touch of disdain on the word "Geth." She had not forgotten or forgiven the part the Geth played in Saren's attack 33 years ago. For her it was yesterday.

"Acknowledged. Greetings Creator Meerul. This platform's designation is One. Admiral Koris asked us to protect you. We are prepared to offer assistance."

SKOUT scanned over the dossiers it was emailed, including that of Captain Shepard, who had just gotten a promotion. The A.I was viewing a hologram of the council meetings, the crew were to be briefed at the council before they would board the ship. SKOUT didn't make an appearance but viewed the meetings to collect data, it could appear via hologram whilst performing it's other tasks but deemed this unnecessary.

The first to arrive was the pilot, Arryn, it made sense for the pilot to be first to the ship in which she would serve on. She initiated dialogue with uncertainty. "Excuse me? Is there a SKOUT aboard this ship? I'm the new pilot. You here?"

"Yes." The feministic voice said over the intercoms. "I shall come up to greet you." As the Alliance Infiltration Unit (AIU) made it's way to the newest addition of the Liberator it briefed the pilot over the intercoms on what SKOUT was and it explained how it could control one AIU provided by The Alliance at a time. This was so the pilot was not confused at why it had a physical appearance. It approached under the appearance of one of it's creators, Jodie.

As it approached in a more physical form it nodded. "Greetings, Arryn. You are currently standing inside of me, how does it feel?" The dead look on the face of what you wouldn't know isn't human didn't help portray that it was joking. "You can speak to me from almost anywhere on the ship but if you would prefer I have a physical form. So you are not confused, my true location is in the A.I core of the ship." SKOUT waited the appropriate brief pause, 1.6 seconds, before continuing. "Lieutenant Arryn Lamburt, I am at your disposal."

"Yes," said a woman's voice, emanating from the speakers embedded in the pristine walls. "I shall come up to greet you."

Before Arryn could respond in anyway, the voice began to introduce itself over the intercom.
"I am the Liberator's AI. I control the ship's systems, and will aid you in navigating the galaxy as Captain Shepard requires. I am bringing one of my physical forms up to meet you as we speak."
As if on cue, a door slid open to reveal what looked at first glance like a tall human woman in Alliance blues. Arryn knew, however, that this must be the "physical form" that the voice, who could only be SKOUT, had mentioned.

As it approached, it nodded robotically.
"Greetings, Arryn. You are currently standing inside of me, how does it feel?"
It might have been a joke, but SKOUT's face was completely deadpan, so it was hard to tell.
"Uh..." Arryn was slightly taken aback, so SKOUT continued.
"You can speak to me from almost anywhere on the ship, but if you would prefer, I have a physical form." She gestured down at her body. "So you are not confused, my true location is in the AI core of the ship." There was a small pause. "Lieutenant Arryn Lambert, I am at your disposal."

Arryn's eyes narrowed slightly. It wasn't that she didn't trust AIs; she greatly respected them, having learnt a great deal about EDI, the Cerberus-made AI incorporated into the Normandy SR-2. It was just that she didn't really know how to deal with them. It was difficult to understand something with no capacity for emotion; it was why she found it relatively difficult to hold conversation with a geth.
"Right, well... Nice to meet you, SKOUT." Arryn held out her hand, and SKOUT looked down, apparently confused. "Sorry," Arryn said, pulling her hand back. "Human tradition. So, I suppose if you know who I am, you must know who else is on the ship, right? Other than Captain Shepard, I mean." SKOUT nodded. "Right. Well, I shouldn't ask, so I won't; I'll meet them when they get here."

Arryn gave a salute to SKOUT before heading off toward her quarters, according to the Normandy specs this ship was based on. The lift took her up to the top deck, and sure enough, her name was printed on a door just off the lobby. She smiled and pressed her ID to the lock, freeing the door so she could enter.

It was quite spacious, really, for military quarters aboard a ship. There was a double bed in the centre of the room, with bedside tables and wardrobes lining the walls, and a fair amount of floor space in between. Most surprising was the screen mounted on the wall opposite the bed, which was quite large and high-tech.

"SKOUT, have you got an ETA on the rest of the crew's arrival?"
"No," she said, "but most of your crucial crew-mates are still in a meeting with the Council, along with the Captain."
    "Great, thanks."
That meant she had time to unpack; it was a way to kill time until the crew turned up, and it would save her the hassle later on. So, she set her bags down on the bed, unzipped them, and began to fill up her room; hanging up clothes, neatly folding away her blues, covering her walls with personal items like posters and family photos.

It took some time, but finally her room was ready to be lived in. She changed into her less formal blues; the standard camouflaged trousers with knee-high boots, a belt to keep them up her slim form, and a black tank top that allowed her arms totally free movement, as she'd need, being the ship's pilot. Confident that she was ready to go whenever the rest of the crew turned up, she stepped out of her room, heading back up to the bridge. SKOUT's "body" was no longer here, but the airlock was still open and waiting for the crew. Arryn sat herself down at the controls, familiarizing herself with the controls, and waiting for the Captain to lead her crew aboard.

    The Shogun of Gaming
An Asari watched from the small observation decks that lined the sides of the Council chambers. Her red eyes, an anomaly among most Asari flickering with excitement between those who showed to answer the summons. Councilor Tavos had very briefly explained the situation to the young human woman, who was going to be the new leader. With an eye that appraised people as quarry more than anything else, and today was no different. The humans, the Quarian, the Turian, and the Krogan found themselves in her sight.

She turned away from the balcony, a smile playing out across her lips. Shouldn’t be antisocial, Ae’raya Arteto mused to herself. Adjusting her black wide-brimmed hat, the slender Asari began to walk down towards the council chambers. The Asari garnered a few odd looks as she walked by, her choice of human military fatigues making her a modest anomaly, her long graceful strides taking her to walk up the stairs of the council chambers.

Ae’raya was shocked when she made her way to join her new squad to find a shiny Geth now among the assembled crew. Ae’raya raised her brow, her purple stripes curving like an eyebrow. The Asari took her place behind the humans, if only because being dwarfed by the Krogan and Geth was simply too uncomfortable. That and Ae’raya had “associated” both Geth and Blood Pack mercenaries recently. Associations that were best described as “a long gazes and straight shooting.” Ae’raya gave a small nod to Councilor Tavos, who gave a small smile. Removing her hat and placing it across her breasts, Ae’raya did her best to look the professional.

“Armali Sniper Ae’Raya Arteto,” Councilor Tavos speaking up to give the huntress a formal introduction.

“N7 Callsign, Artemis.” Admiral Hackett added, his tone less than ecstatic. “I don’t remember you being called here.”

“A last minute decision,” Tavos retorted, though it wasn't obvious her ire was being raised. “This Asari has proven herself an asset, and Cerberus is a problem for all races across the galaxy. She will represent the Asari for this mission.”

Ae’raya bowed her head to the council, and shifted a little awkwardly. She was called here for an important mission, yet it sounded more like it was Tavos performing a political maneuver. Placing her hat snugly back onto her head. She tried not to blush at Admiral Shepard, and maintained at attention as best she could.

“She is also a skilled operative, skilled in the tracking and elimination of critical targets. An asset in this type of mission.” Tavos was finally finished and Ae'raya decided to speak.

“That of course, depends on if Captain Shepard will have me.” Ae’raya said, drawing a slightly annoyed gaze from the Councilor. Though a little over two hundred years old, Ae’raya was about the same maturity as the young commander. Her sing song tone shifted to one that was a strange mix of bored and annoyed. “I am here to serve. But will not interject myself if I am not needed.”

"You have *got* to be joking," Frank mutters as his STG contact, Monahe, hands him the data pad. "A summons by the council? And here, I thought I was operating in the dark," he chuckles.

Frank Jaeger, a recruit of the newly formed N8 program, had been on the Presidium no longer than a few hours to gather supplies and information with the intent to return to his hideout on Omega.

"Surprising, indeed," Monahe agreed, "and if it's a Council summons, I would head out immediately. I suspect you may already be late."

Frank read over the datapad one more time. "Serving under Alice Sheppard..." he read aloud in disbelief. He heard the stories and legends that surrounded her mother. "Looks like I need to head out, then," Frank mutters with a grin.

A few moments later, Frank arrived at the Council chamber doors. He displayed the datapad with the summons, and was allowed through. Inside, he saw three humans, one of which he recognized from the many holo tapes as Admiral Sheppard, the woman standing next to her could be none other than Alice Sheppard. The other one was a man he didn't know. Along with the humans, he saw a Krogan, Quarian, And a Geth.

"Petty Officer Francis Jaeger, reporting for duty," Frank says, as he snaps to attention and salutes the council.

Alice was both amazed and intimidated of the elite and diverse group standing before the Council. Never before had she seen so many different species in the same room united in a single purpose. A navy officer, an N7 operative, a Turian, a Krogan, a Quarian, an Asari. Even a Geth had answered the call. There hadn't been a team so colourful since her mother went beyond the Omega-4 Relay to destroy the Collector base. All of these people were here to aid and support Alice and there was a whole frigate full of servicemen to help them. And Alice was expected to lead all of them.

The very thought terrified her. If she hadn't peed her pants already she would have now.

The Council looked at Alice expectantly, waiting for her to accept or reject the Asari huntress that had just shown up. Her fingers became clammy as she rubbed them around in her palms and her ears and cheeks turned a light but visible pink. The blush on her cheeks hid some but not all of it and Alice cursed her own timidness as it betrayed her. She wanted to run out of the chamber, hide in a corner somewhere and will all of this to be over, but she couldn't. She wouldn't. She was the captain now and she had to make this call. Not her mother, not the Council, her.

She visibly gulped, looking very pale under the hot chamber lights, and turned to the Asari. "I'd...I'd be honoured to have an asari huntress on my team. An Armali Sniper would be invaluable. Welcome aboard Artemis." Alice stepped towards Artemis and they shook hands. Alice's was hot and damp but she kept her cool. She wished she could have answered Roki but all she had time for was to nod and salute him back. She was just as nervous about ground combat as the young Quarian was. Perhaps more considering the last time she led men into battle. When Petty Officer Francis Jaeger introduced himself their company seemed complete and Councilor Tevos stood up to give what Alice assumed was supposed to be the official briefing.

"Thank you all for coming. As you know, an assassination attempt was made against Urdnot Wrex ten days ago. C-Sec has completed its investigation and has determined the culprits. Urdnot Wrex was targeted by Cerberus."

"We've been hunting remnants of the Human-Supremacist organization for thirty years." Sparatus said. "Admiral Shepard destroyed their core during the Reaper War but the Illusive Man was a clever planner as well as a dangerous madman. Hundreds of his operatives disappeared into the galaxy and we've had to hunt them down one by one."

"*inhale* Most of the Illusive Man's financial backers also worked for legitimate companies used as fronts for Cerberus." Barla Von said. "*inhale* He had his hands in everything from the Sirta Foundation to Elkoss Combine and after his death trillions of credits disappeared from the galactic market. *inhale* most of that money is still unaccounted for."

"The fact that they were able to strike at all after so many years makes it clear that the Illusive Man had a plan for the organization in the event of his death." Kirahee said. "The fact that they struck at Urdnot Wrex, even though they failed, makes it clear that they have a larger plan in the works."

"Your mission is to find out what Cerberus is up to and stop it. As of now you are all N8 operatives and will help crew the SSV Liberator, a brand new Normandy SR2 class frigate." Counselor Hackett said. "Captain Shepard will be your commanding officer and you are her team. You've all been chosen because you're damn good at what you do and if you obey and support Captain Shepard she will lead you in destroying this new Cerberus threat."

"You are all to give Captain Shepard your full cooperation, and you will put aside any personal feelings you may have on her youth or inexperience. Captain Shepard? Would you like to add anything?"

"I would Councilor." Alice said, turning to her new team and putting her hands behind her back. This really was happening but the Council really had faith in her. She wouldn't let them down. She couldn't. She cleared her throat and raised her normally soft and quiet voice so everyone could hear. It was still high-pitched and young sounding but strong and authoritative. Like a Captain's. "I won't lie to any of you. This is a dangerous mission with a good chance of failure but we're the best the Council could find. My mother and the Normandy's team destroyed Cerberus' founder and took his strength. Now it's back, a once-proud three headed beast down to one whimpering head, desperate for a chance to kill. Well we're not gonna give it that chance. We will find this new Cerberus, finish what my mother started and end this organization forever. I know I'm young, and I'm inexperienced compared to the rest of you but I'm a Shepard. I find an answer to an unsolvable question and then I meet challenges no one else would dare face. I will lead us into the darkness and with your help we will conquer it forever. We're the Council's best and we can do this. We will do this. Report to the Liberator as soon as possible. We've got a Cerberus to hunt."

Alice was invigorated by her own speech. She was ready, she could do this, she could lead these people. She felt good and best of all her mother gave her an approving smile and nod. Everyone filed out of the room and Alice headed over to her mother. The Council was filing out so they had a moment to talk.

"So how'd I do?" She asked her mother.

"It was an inspiring speech. Anderson would be proud." Shepard said, taking Alice's right hand into both of hers and holding it. She was so proud of her little faerie but she was also terrified of her going off on a crazy mission without her mamma to protect her. But that was what it was all about. To let Alice stand on her own two feet and realize that she wasn't in her parents' shadow anymore. Shepard and Garrus knew she could do this. She'd be just fine. At the very least it couldn't be anything worse than what they faced back in the day.

"Really?" Alice asked with awe, honored to be compared to the hero who was like a father to her mother. "You really think so?"

"Absolutely I do. You're ready for this and I'll be available to advise and support you any time you need me. As the Admiral of the Alliance Fleet and as your mom. Now get going. You've got a ship to command." She smiled but sniffed slightly and lowered her voice. "You...might wanna change your pants before you get onboard."

"Umm...yeah. That's a good idea." Alice said, more than a little emberrassed.

"It's all right." Shepard said softly. "I did the same thing when the Council made me a Spectre. I was just fortunate enough to be wearing a hardsuit at the time."

Alice smiled and huggedd her mom."Thanks mom, I love you."

"I love you too sweetheart." Shepard said, hugging her daughter back. "Now get going. Captain Shepard."

"Aye aye ma'am." Alice said. They both headed down the elevator and back to their skycar. After a stop at their apartment in Zakera Ward to change her uniform and pack the rest of her things Alice was ready to go meet the Liberator. The ride over was uneventful and after another hug she and her mom departed ways. She expected the crew to be assembled along the corridoor connecting the CIC and the Bridge, waiting to receive her. Instead Alice found a slightly different situation.

"No, no NO! THIS one goes there, THAT one goes there! Right?!" Wrex bellowed at a terrified Ensign after he mixed up two equipment containers for the CIC. He quickly got a serviceman to help him move the equipment to its proper place in the large triangular room dominated by the online galaxy map. Alice's mouth opened in wonder looking at her new CIC. It was an exact copy of the Normandy's. The entire command deck was an exact copy. She knew exactly where everything was, as if she was back on the Normandy with her parents and Joker and Captain EDI patrolling space like when she was a kid. What brought her back to reality was the fact that her Uncle Urdnot was here on the ship when he really wasn't supposed to be. The crew was still getting everything ready and they were scurrying under his iron gaze. The small noise from Alice clearing her throat however got his attention immediately. He turned around surprised and a little embarrassed.

"Alice! I...didn't see you there! Uh...welcome aboard the Liberator!"

"Uncle Urdnot, what are you doing here? I read the crew manifest as mom took me over here and you're not on the list." Some of the crew and her new team were looking at her and she felt like a kid who's overprotective uncle had just interrupted her recess time. Nevertheless, she suppressed these feelings and maintained a professional bearing.

"Just here to double check all the systems. Make sure these guys did their jobs right. Can't be too careful you know. Especially if you're going up against Cerberus. I was hoping to be done by now but SOMEBODY" He looked to the Ensign again. "Got the power cells for the damage control station and your private terminal mixed up!"

"Well...how long is this gonna take? We...kinda need to get going."

"Shouldn't be much longer. You uh...you have everything you need?"

    "Yep."

"You...still got that Carnifex I gave you for your N7 promotion?"

"Yes sir. It should be with all my stuff in my cabin on deck 1."

"You remember that fast reloading trick I taught ya?"

"Uncle Urdnot, I'm gonna be fine. Really, I can handle myself."

"I know sweetheart." Wrex said, putting his massive hands on Alice's shoulders, making her feel like a little girl again. "I'm old and I worry. You ask your Aunt Tali and she'll say I did the same thing to her. I just wanna make sure you'll at least try to be safe. Can you promise me that?"

"It's not my job to be safe Uncle Urdnot. It's my job to find Cerberus and kick 'em in the quad!" Alice said smiling.

"Hahaha, just like your mom you are!" Alice hugged Wrex's neck.

"Thanks for checking up on me. I love you Uncle Urdnot." She said, so only they could hear.

"I love you too kiddo." Wrex said as he hugged Alice and put her down. "Now you go find Cerberus and kick 'em in the quad for all of us."

He then lumbered over to Kain and jabbed his chest with one massive finger. "And you. Keep her safe. If she gets hurt anywhere on this mission and you're not there to help, I'll feel it." He growled. He knew he didn't need to lay it on the young krogan like this but he also knew he would accept his Warchief's challenge. As he walked out of the Liberator he called back to Alice. "Oh, and by the way Alice! Tell your dad to come up!"

    "What?!"

On cue, the elevator behind the galaxy map opened and Garrus Vakarian walked out of it. He was in his usual blue C-Sec armor and wearing his ever present targeting monicole over his left eye. He, like Wrex, anticipated being done and gone before Alice boarded the ship and was embarrassed to see her here.

"What's up dad? Here to check up on me too?" Alice asked, crossing her arms.

"Don't worry Alice, I'm not sticking around. Just...making some last minute calibrations to your main guns."

"Really? Because I have a weapons officer for that."

"A Geth has nothing over your dad sweetheart. Not eve Legion could do better than me. Have I told you that story?"

"You did, and I guess you're right. We could lose this battle if our guns aren't well calibrated." She smiled. Her dad worried about her too much and he had some crazy ideas, especially with home security. He even tried to rig an arc projector to Alice's bedroom door once to fry anything that wasn't her without considering what to do if he wanted to come in. He was full of crazy ideas like that. It was just to keep her safe though and Alice was okay with that. That was one thing she loved about her dad. He always had an idea on how to solve a problem and was never scared to try something crazy. He always said it was what made him a bad Turian but Alice disagreed. He was the best Turian dad a girl could ask for.

"Exactly! Now you're getting it!" Garrus said, showing what only other Turians and Alice would perceive as a smile. He walked over to Alice and leaned in closer. "I'm sorry about this. I thought I'd be done by now but that damn gun was fighting me with each calibration."

"It's okay dad. My main battery's in good hands and I'm gonna be okay. I have your old rifle for good luck."

"Good. That rifle and I have been through a lot. You remember how to use it? How to set up that bipod we rigged for you?"

"I do. I'm ready for this dad. I'm gonna be okay."

"I know you will sweetheart." Garrus said and the two hugged. "Take care of yourself. You can call me anytime you need to and I will always answer. Oh, and just...keep an eye on your gunner. You know how I feel about Geth."

One, who was on board, took notice of this and approached Garrus. "This platform will faithfully perform its duties Garrus Vakarian. We do however have an inquiry. Scans show that you have increased the effective range of the Liberators thanix cannon by .73 percent. When exchanging data with the ship's A.I, we determined that that was not possible. How did you accomplish this."

"All Geth have Legion's memories don't they One?"

    "That is correct."

"Remember what I told him when he asked me this?

"You said 'always hold some back for emergencies.' Is our current situation an emergancy?"

"A Geth fingering the trigger of a frigate's main guns? Being able to scan my daughter when she's not looking? No, I can't imagine that would qualify."

"Than we will exchange data with the current crew. And reserve some calibration for an emergancy." One walked off to introduce himself to the crew and Garrus rolled his eyes. He never understood why Geth referred to themselves in the first person plural when they'd been individuals for years. Or why they kept themselves in their consensus all the time. He figured it was just an A.I thing. Satisfied with his calibrations, he finally left and Alice went over to One.

"One? You said you exchanged data with the ship's A.I right? You mean SKOUT? When did that take place? You just got onboard.

"That is correct Shepard-Commander. The exchange took place 4.31 seconds and 14 milliseconds ago. Would you like a report?"

"No, that's fine I...wait a minute. You called me Shepard-Commander. That's what Legion called my mom during the Reaper War. Why call me that?"

"As previously stated, Legion's code was distributed to all Geth during the Ascension. His memories were distributed as well. Through interface with those memories, this platform has aquired some of the random variances in his runtime. We call you Shepard-Commander because you are the offspring of Shepard. She is of special significance to us and you are a direct product of her. We feel it is...appropriate to give you the same title. Do you dislike it?"

"No, no. I like Shepard-Commander actually. It'll just...take some getting used to is all. Why don't you go introduce yourself to the crew? We're still loading supplies and you've got a little time to socialize."

"Acknowledged." One said, walking over to where Roki and Frank were. Alice walked over to her private terminal by the galaxy map to check any messages but she was eager to meet SKOUT. She wondered if it was anything like EDI and looked for a mobile platform. She didn't see any, mistaking the tall blonde haired woman in Alliance blues as just another crewman. So, she simply looked up and called out.

"Umm...SKOUT? It's Captain Shepard. I'd like to meet you. Are...um....are you active?"

The crew was running around like pyjaks under Wrex's steady command. Kain laughed a bit to himself as a few of the Alliance crew listened to his authority without question. He wasn't sure if they were following his orders because of his reputation, or his size. Kain kept to himself, controlling his breathing as he did some basic maintenance on his Claymore. A soldier's weapon must be as ready as the soldier himself, he knew. This gun would save his life and others, while at the same time, it would take many more. He glanced up at the familiar sound of a hatch opening. Kain watched as the newly appointed captain made her way onto her ship.

Seeing her on the ship, she seemed to be in her natural element. She stood taller, and though the smell of fear lingered, it was covered by an air of confidence. Her back was straight as a rod, her eyes steeled over as she took in the site of the Liberator, no doubt noticing its resemblance to her mother's legendary ship. Kain stood tall as she entered, shouldering his weapon at his back and standing tall not far from his Chief.

Wrex was yelling at a poor crewmember when the captain boarded. The old war chief paused in his tirade and looked to the girl, apparently he wasn't expecting her this soon. All the age seemed to fall from his face as he saw her. Kain watched there interaction with a careful eye. 'Uncle Urdnot', she called him. Perhaps she did not understand the inner workings of a krogan clan. Or, perhaps, it was just a sort of pet name. If she truly thought of Wrex as an uncle, what would that make himself? Clan was family. Wrex was much like a father to him... would that make this young human... what.... his cousin?

Kain was torn from his thoughts as his chief made his way to him. The ancient krogan jabbed at his chest plate with a growl. "And you. Keep her safe. If she gets hurt anywhere on this mission and you're not there to help, I'll feel it."

Kain nodded respectfully. "Of course, Chief."

Apparently satisfied, Wrex left the ship, not without telling the captain that her father, the legendary turian, was on board as well. Without a word, Kain edged closer to the captain, not saying a word, but just far enough away without bringing himself to her attention, as much as a being like himself could. He watched her interactions with her father, and then with the Geth. They were speaking of calibrations. Kain kept his snort to himself. So the stories were true of the turian and his obsession with... calibrating.

He perked a bit when she called for the ship's AI... Kain had to admit, he'd been a bit curious about the AI as well, who had yet to show himself.

"What are you doing!" Joseph said, shortly after boarding the Liberator. Immediately he reported to the Communications Room only to see some "Technicians" completely butchering the wiring for the QEC. "With you people putting things in that way, we'll be lucky to stay in contact with ourselves! Back off." The Technicians left the room quickly, because in Joseph's eyes was a sufficient enough rage.

"I"m sorry for that" Joseph said to the QEC. "Not everybody can know what they're doing." Joseph then picked up their abandoned tools and took apart some of the last minute wiring. "Sheesh, they can't even connect the Diondrium Wire to the Delta Port" he said, laughing. It took him a good few minutes of hectically but cautiously re-wiring the Quantum Entanglement Communicator. "There, NOW you'll run like an efficient machine" he said, admiring his work. It was at this point that he heard the entrance open and shut, and figured that it was Commander Shepard.

"Hmmm... better test this first." Joseph pressed a multitude of keys and buttons before getting in contact with a ship. "Yes, this is the Liberator. Permission to speak to Colonel Jonathon James Newman, please." It took a few minutes before his brother responded.

    "Colonel Jonathon Newman, reporting."

    "Hey, it's Joseph."

"Hey bro. How's the new ship?"

"'Bout as fancy as any I've ever seen."

    "Have you met the Commander?"

    "Yes. She's Alice Shepard."

"WHOA! A SHEPARD!?!?! That's huge! Must be important."

"Yea... not sure I can tell you what it is but why risk it? Anyway, just testing the comm systems."

"I have drills to attend to anyways. Happy hunting."

    "Same to you."

Joseph cut the comm relay. It was good for him to talk to his brother, as he was the one with whom Joseph had always had the closest ties. His father was always a distant man, his mother said it was because of The War. But his mother was never much of a caregiver herself. So he bonded most with his brother.

    Better report to the captain.

Joseph walked into the Command Deck where Commander Shepard was giving last words to her father. But in a moment, Commander Shepard wanted to meet the all-seeing ship AI.

"Umm...SKOUT? It's Captain Shepard. I'd like to meet you. Are...um....are you active?"

So very young, Artemis thought. Still goes to her mother for validation of the speech. Artemis sighed, maybe it was because of her own distant relationship to her mother. When Artemis moved, even under orders, it was for herself. She acted because she was the one who needed to get the job done. Artemis snapped out of her thoughts when she saw the ship and all the crew running around preparing it best they could for the maiden mission. Artemis took a deep breath as she looked over the newest model of the now legendary design.

Artemis made her way down the dock, tipping her hat at Wrex who simply grunted a response. Artemis laughed to herself, which stopped abruptly when she saw her equipment crate being struggled with by a pair of young crewmen. It was an annoyance until one of them struggled with it and dropped his side of the crate. There was a loud crack, and you could swear it came from somewhere in the Asari’s brain. She was upon them in an instant.

“What do you think you are doing?” She all but yelled. She wanted to keep her composure, as Councilor Tevos said she would represent the Asari race.

“That equipment is very sensitive!” Deep breath, and a sigh. I can’t make a scene, she repeated mentally trying to calm herself down. Hand twitching wanting to draw the pistol at her hip, the only weapon they let her keep on her person when she came to the Citadel. “Would you like some assistance?”

“Umm, No sorry specialist,” The nervous crewman responded, noticing the murderous look in the Asari’s eyes even if she was trying to speak calmly. “It just slipped I am sure it is perfectly fine.”

“To the untrained eye it may look fine….” Artemis cursed under her breath. Her thoughts on her precious sniper rifle. It was not a delicate piece but Artemis would worry just the same. The crewman leaned in to try and hear what she said, but she soon spoke up. Voice dripping with venom and annoyance. “Fine. Just get it up to my locker or quarters or wherever I can get to it as easily as possible.”

Artemis sighed and walked in just as her new commander began talking to One. Then she saw Garrus Vakarian, proud with herself that she managed not to squeal like a fan girl. Garrus was noted as one of the best sharpshooters in the galaxy. It was beginning to feel like too much for the Huntress, but she controlled herself, tipping her hat to Garrus as he walked by. Artemis was sure she got a nod of recognition. The anger from her mishandled weapons forgotten, Artemis was all smiles to the various crew that worked around her.

Hearing Alice call out to the A.I caught her attention. Though the idea of a ship possibly watching you every second you are on it was not an uncomfortable thought for the Asari. But the very nature of what an A.I. was very strange to Artemis. But such philosophy of the nature of A.I. was to much for a simple soldier like Artemis. One does not pass up the opportunity to work with a Shepard right? She thought. But the situation did feel strange to Artemis. With no one holding Specter status, they would be subject to following the law. To Artemis this seemed like it could become an issue, but she forced down her worries. The hunt was about to begin.

The first people to come aboard the Liberator were not Shepard and the rest of the hand-picked crew; instead it was the generic crew, carrying boxes packed full of equipment. Arryn stood aside, nodding to each one in turn as they came aboard and set down the boxes, debating amongst themselves where to take each one.

She left them to it, and went back to watching the airlock. However, now two more people were striding toward the Liberator. Two people that couldn't possibly be a part of this mission.
Garrus Vakarian and Urdnot Wrex stepped aboard, Arryn's mind caught up in how many war heroes she seemed to be meeting today.
"Excuse me; can I ask why you're here?"

"We're here to make sure these idiots are sorting out the ship right for the Captain. Got anything against that?" Wrex glared at Arryn, until Vakarian patted his shoulder.
"Sorry about him," the turian said kindly, "You must be the pilot? Just out of the Academy, I hear, and better than any pilot with experience in the entire Alliance fleet."
    Arryn flushed with pride.
"Thank you, sir. That means a lot, coming from you; especially since the pilot of the Normandy back then was probably the best ever."

"Now," Wrex said, "Let us loose on these pyjaks. They're doing it all wrong."
Arryn nodded and let them pass onto the ship. Garrus Vakarian immediately went below the main deck, Arryn assumed to check the main guns, while Wrex began yelling at the grunts about how they were carrying the equipment all wrong. Arryn just grinned and watched.

It didn't take long for Shepard and her crew to arrive; one of just about every race imaginable; human, turian, asari, krogan, quarian, even geth. No salarians, surprisingly, though it was quite a varied crew already by the looks.
Arryn saluted as Alice Shepard walked aboard, keeping her mouth shut about the Captain's father being below decks. She watched the encounter between Shepard and Wrex, and smiled slightly when Garrus stepped out of the elevator, to Alice's immense surprise.

Garrus and Wrex finally left Shepard to it, and Shepard immediately called for SKOUT.
"Umm... SKOUT? It's Captain Shepard. I'd like to meet you. Are you... um... are you active?"
She had understandably missed SKOUT standing in front of her; the tall female body looking just like another crewmate.
Arryn slid into place beside SKOUT, and waved to Shepard politely.
"SKOUT is easily missed, Captain. She's right here; the mobile platform is quite subtle, to say the least." She held her hand out to Shepard, hoping she wasn't being too rude. "We didn't get a chance to meet properly at the meeting. Lieutenant Arryn Lambert, at your service, captain."

The Council meeting ended rather abruptly, to say the least. Roki had been expecting it to drag on for hours, but just a quick explanation from the Councilors and one rather inspirational speech later, they were all on their way to the Liberator. The whole way there, all Roki could think about was the Taeyyra. Oh, he would miss it. That ship had been his home and his life for 12 years, and now all of a sudden he was being thrust into an entirely different world. It would be difficult to be Chief Engineer on a ship he had no knowledge about, so he would have to adjust as fast as he could. Before he got to the Liberator, Roki didn't even know what a Normandy class vessel was.

Once they were aboard, Roki found some comfort in the crewmen looking even more nervous than himself, but when he caught sight of the enormous Urdnot Wrex barking orders at them, he understood the whole situation a bit more. The Captain was talking to him, so Roki just wandered to the other side, leaning against a railing and trying to look casual, unbelievably glad that his suit prevented anyone from seeing the worried look on his face. He liked the Asari, usually, but there was just something about the way this one moved. She looked dangerous, felt dangerous to be around, and Roki didn't like it one bit. Then, once she began scolding crew men for dropping a crate apparently full of her belongings, Roki decided she was one to avoid. He was also confused as to why her belongings warranted a whole crate. How anyone could need that much he would never understand. He merely had spare parts for his suit, some vials of old medicine and his guns.

Everything seemed to quiet as a Turian walked out of the elevator. No, not a Turian, Garrus Vakarian. Now their Captain was talking to Wrex and Garrus, and for a moment Roki wondered if they would be joining their crew, but he quickly deemed the possibility unlikely. Their was a brief exchange between the Geth and the Captain, too, and now the Geth was headed straight for Roki. He had been hoping to avoid talking to anyone, at least until he had settled a little, but now seemed as good a time as any to ask the question that had been on his mind since the Council meeting. "H-hey, umm, One, was it?" The Geth was looking at him now, and suddenly the situation became all the more terrifying. "I've be-been meaning, to ask you. Back... in the Council chamber, you said... you said you had been asked, to protect... me? B-by who, and... well, why?"
