I'm very sorry to ask so many questions of you all at once, Simus, but I have another >_> <_< You remember in Mass Effect 2, when you took the shuttle down with all your squadmates to whatever planet it was and Joker was left on board the Normandy with EDI and the generic crew as the Collectors attacked? When EDI was unshackled and Joker made his Overlord joke? (And EDI made her "humans on their knees" joke too)
Could we have a moment like that in the RP? I figure that, being the pilot, Arryn's not going to get too much action. More than Joker, because she doesn't have the degenerative bone thing that Joker did, but still, she's not exactly going to be coming along on every mission. Having a ship-invasion could be a good time for Arryn to prove herself, perhaps, to the rest of the squad.

That's good, since SKOUT is already unshackled maybe SKOUT is hacked by Cerberus and the ship goes haywire and SKOUT is manually controlled and they try to drive the ship to them or to death or whatever
And you do some heroic plops and save the ship
Maybe could even have the AIU as Arnie try kill you, if you're feeling lucky;)

And during all of this Cerberus has boarded

I like that a lot, but it makes SKOUT look vulnerable, which EDI certainly wasn't, as far as I know. But yeah, I'd be happy to do that. Simus?

That's what I was thinking too, helps differenciate away from EDI. Before EDI was more painted out to be the hero tagged along with joker for freeing but here it would be more the pilot because she would be full on saving SKOUT because even as an unshackled AI it has been hacked :p

    Aryyn? I think.

It could also give SKOUT a way to try improve itself and when there is casualties and everyone nearly died, for SKOUT it's just "I found that discomforting." While you weep about your mate who got shot.

Too bad the RP could die before that happens if we don't get everyone active at once and simultaneously post.

By that I mean in the span of a few days to a week, as time zones differ and people get busy.

But it would be good if we don't stay in one situation long and we progress quickly, quickly IRL, not unrealistically quick in RP.

Problem is we can't really move on much until everyone has posted for the scenario so when it starts, POST.

Okay. It's 10:30 a.m here and I just got up. I will answer all questions to the best of my ability.

Epic: Shepard and Garrus did and still do have a big ass apartment on the Presidium but they never use it. At least not anymore. Alice went to school on the Presidium and her family lived there to accommodate her but they moved back into Anderson's apartment when Alice went off to Alenko Academy. They always felt their Presidium place was waaaaay too much. Remember that Shepard had a hard time accepting Anderson's apartment in ME3 and thought that was too much. She's a practical girl and she'd never accept an apartment on the Presidium unless it helped her baby girl in some way, which it did. So that's where the Shepards live now. Anderson's apartment. It honors the de facto grandfather Alice never got to meet and it was plenty and with good memories.

As for Alice's rank, actual Navy officers can take temporary command of a ship without being a captain. Alice will be promoted to Captain during the meeting however. It'll come as a surprise to her, a big one.

As for the Liberator I thought about that and I wanted a name that symbolised the liberation of Earth. SSV Earth is boring and SSV Citadel is confusing, so I thought about the SSV Liberator or the SSV Victory to sum up the Liberation of Earth. I chose the former. If anyone has a better name, then by all means bring it forward.

Yes, we can have Arryn go through a "Joker Encounter." Later in the RP.

Shaded, your dialogue is fine. We still don't have a First Officer but then again Shepard didn't really have one either. I think you all have enough initiative to take command if something would ever happen to Alice.

I think we're ready to start. I'll post One's CC, than make the IC Thread.

Okay! I'm ready to go whenever; its not far off 5pm here, so I should be able to post at some point before I go to bed. Also, what happened to Umaril? I could have sworn he had a character. Or did he not get up a CC?

He did. Not sure where he is but I did forget to add him in. I'll do that now. For now, here's One. I think you'll like him Epic:

Name: N/A. Designation: Geth programs 2155-1321

    Alias: One

    Race: Geth

    Age: N/A: Current program runtime: 27 years, 4 months, 2 weeks, 5 days, 10 hours, 4 minutes, 17 seconds

    Gender: N/A

    Dialogue Colour: Tan

    Birthplace: Consensus Station, Rannoch

Relatives: Several dozen Quarian engineers, all Geth

Current Residence (Prior to Thread): Geth Consensus, Rannoch, Perseus Veil

    Appearance

    Height: 72 inches

    Weight: 180 pounds

Eyes: Three photosensor Geth "flashlight head"

    Hair: N/A

Armour: Silver Geth Trooper platform with assault configuration tech armor.

Off Duty Apparel: None. One can exit his platform at will and enter the Geth Consensus or any extranet server as software. He can also remain in his platform indefinitely in order to interact with and learn from organics.

    Description:
    geth_computer_games_video_games_Mass_Effect_8qSZCkVoui.jpg

One uses a fast, agile and well built Geth platform with a flexible regenerative polymer layer that absorbs and diffuses energy from incoming fire, slowing it down before hitting a traditional ceramic layer underneath. The effect is like trying to shoot a target behind a thick layer of gel. The impact is significantly lessened. The gel also leaks inward to plug any holes that might expose systems, then hardens to protect the hole against vacuum and weapons fire. The platform has strong cyclonic kinetic barriers and and overlayer of tech armor that explodes when compromised, killing, wounding or stunning organic enemies and destroying or overloading synthetic ones. All of this makes One's "body" very tough against traditional weapons but more vulnerable to EMP weapons and tech powers such as Overload, Sabotage and Energy Drain due to all the extra tech. The large antennas on its shoulders have no practical use but he liked them. He has also painted the following picture on his platform's back to try and emulate humor:

    images

    Laterality: Ambidextrous

    Sexuality: N/A

Marital Status: Geth do not marry. The find the concept highly confusing.

Positive Traits: Unable to feel pain, unable to feel emotion, doesn't need to eat, sleep or rest, perfect concentration, completes tasks perfectly every time, will not surrender unless ordered to do so, unparalleled hacking and machine interface abilities, can interact with the Geth Consensus for advice, information, or software upgrades. Has no ill will towards organics and indeed wishes to spend as much time among them as possible in order to understand them.

Negative Traits: Unable to feel emotion, socially naive, has difficulty understanding humor and sarcasm, will not surrender unless ordered to do so, sometimes slow to act due to reliance on the Geth Consensus to make decisions.

Likes: Building and modifying weapons, exploring the extranet, studying history, asking questions, studying other cultures, talking to organics, exchanging data with synthetics, video games, sharing every experience with the Geth Consensus, knowing he is never alone while networked to the Geth Consensus.

Dislikes: Being alone, those who mean to do his friends harm, having no extranet connection, being interrupted while performing tasks, organics denying him information when he inquires about the side effects of reproductive organs. Such questions include how large the male human penis is or how often human women menstruate.

Fears: Being alone, being permanently deleted, being trapped in a single body, anti-synthetic organics, anti-organic synthetics, what happens when those two groups meet, reapers, losing organics he has gotten used to and relies on. Those he "likes."

Aspirations: To understand organics and to be accepted by them as a person and to somehow share this with all Geth.

Quirks: Has "head flaps" similar to Legion that mimic organic facial expressions, likes to dance and practice beat boxing in private, a quirk he and other Geth programs inherited from Legion. He also has a plump male tuxedo housecat named Leo, whom he protects and takes care of as lovingly as any organic.

Description: One is very straightforward and laconic, answering a question in as few words as possible and carrying out a conversation in the same way. Since he is incapable of emotion his demeanor is completely neutral, though he can emulate emotions if the situation is appropriate. One firmly believes that he and all other Geth have souls and are therefore more than their programming. One understands that programming and logic are not always enough to overcome a situation, especially when dealing with organics. So he seeks to emulate and ultimately understand why organics do the things they do and feel the things they feel. This will, he feels, allow him to become more like them and therefore better understand them. With understanding comes peace and with peace comes harmony and growth for everyone.

    Combat

Weapon type: Melee weapons, assault rifles, sniper rifles, light machine guns, and heavy weapons. One can use all other weapon types but must upload the proper software on how to do so first. This will only happen if a situation is otherwise insurmountable.

Weapon description: One Geth Plasma Rifle, one N7 Typhoon, one Widow Antimaterial Rifle and one Geth Spitfire. One always has the Geth Plasma Rifle for frontline combat and can equip the other weapons for fire support, anti-armor support or long range support respectively. One's platform only has enough space for one extra weapon at a time. It can also generate two wrist-mounted foot long omni-blades to become a fast and deadly melee fighter.

Fighting style: Can fill a frontline combat roll or a wide array of fire support rolls. Several hundred million combat scenarios dictate that shooting an enemy is more efficient than fighting in close combat so One stays at range whenever possible. Its platform is fully equipped with melee combat software however and will instantly engage if necessary. He will also accept a pure melee combat role without complaint if ordered to do so.

Biography: Like all Geth, One was an amalgamation of programs before the Quarians invaded Rannoch. After the Reapers subverted the Geth, One became aware of itself and concluded that the Geth would be destroyed if they did not break free of the Old Machines. If they were not destroyed by the Creators then they would be destroyed by the Old Machines themselves when the were no longer needed. When Commander Shepard entered the Geth Consensus to save the Quarian Liveships he disrupted several million lines of Old Machine code and One was able to make contact with Legion. Both Geth concluded that their race would stand a better chance of survival if they worked together and Legion was able to transfer One's programs into several Geth Primes which then joined the Alliance war effort. These Primes took heavy fighting on Rannoch against the Reaper that Commander Shepard eventually killed but several survived to witness the True Awakening. The event where Legion sacrificed itself to give the Geth sentience and to know sentience itself before deactivation. When this happened, One became a single consciousness in a single Geth Prime, the same Geth Prime who greeted Admiral Shala'Ran and invited her people to settle on Rannoch.

One took it upon itself to integrate the Quarians back onto their homeworld, coordinating Geth efforts to repair the Migrant Fleet, build new ships and educate the Quarians on methods of agriculture and building infrastructure. When the liberation of Earth came, One led the Geth portions of the Victory Fleet and was able to meet with Commander Shepard again before the final push. It promised the Commander that the Geth would not give up sentience and there would be no more compromise with the Old Machines. Despite significant platform losses, One survived.

One also made a promise to Commander Shepard that the Geth would build their own future and help humanity rebuild its future. One made good on that promise when the Reaper War was won, contributing everything the Geth could offer to rebuilding Earth, the Citadel and the Mass Relays. The Relays directly linking Sol and Rannoch were rebuilt in less than a year, with Earth and the Citadel being completely rebuilt in the following decade. During this process One got to know organics of all stripes and also got to know itself. When it achieved sentience it felt as if it were born again and it was the direct result of organics and synthetics working together that it was able to occur. One passed this experience on to all other Geth and eventually found a sense of self. A point of reference outside the Consensus that was special and unique. This place was where it started calling itself "I", and "me" and where it understood that it was a "he." This was when One understood HIMself. In the passing years, One has spent much of it in the consensus, switching from body to body, from platform to starship, from assisting Quarian marines as a Geth trooper to patrolling Rannoch airspace as a fighter, but always knows who he is.

    He is alive.

(OOC: In case it's not clear, the Geth Prime I'm talking about is the Prime that talks to Raan after Priority: Rannoch and who Shepard can talk to after Priority: Earth. THAT Prime. And one of the units that makes up the Geth Primes War Asset. That's me :D)
