My wow moment was when I was level 27, I had finally killed my first dragon after completing DG and TG questline. I fast traveled to Whiterun, only to find the Ali'kr asking for a woman, a courier running to me to deliver me a letter from a "friend" to find some words because the Guard with the mustache told me to shout and I did, I guess the "friend" was somewhere in a bush. All that topped with the Greybeards screaming Dovakin and a couple of Vampire fledglings accompanied by a "Traveler".

On his way from the Eldergleam Sanctuary to Whiterun my Nord character, Tomas, decided to check out a Nordic ruin he'd discovered earlier (Hillgrund's Tomb). Upon hearing Golldir's story, he immediately agreed to help.

After Vals Veran was finally dealt with, Tomas left the barrow (having taken absolutely nothing, since it was a family tomb) only to come across a double encounter at the foot of the hill.

A dead dragon lay there, and simply handed over its soul. To Tomas it seemed like the free dragon soul was a "reward" for leaving the tomb untouched (apart from killing the undead and their master) - to me it was a genuine "wow" moment. :)

Coincidence, with more than perfect timing.

This is my first time playing Skyrim so I've had quite a few wow moments. One of my first was of course, seeing the night sky. With the aurora borealis and a blood red moon.. It was just gorgeous. The second was when I first entered The Drunken Huntsman and met a fellow Bosmer who even greeted my character as such. I thought that was a nice touch. And one time while trying to find something on a quest I stumbled upon what seemed to be a dragon hunting down a couple deer. The deer were on a mountain plateau and I kid you not, it was hovering above them just frying them with its fire, and the funny part was when I tried to move in and kill the dragon, it turned its attention to me - but as soon as I backed off it went back to hunting like I was never there. I thought that was kinda cool, as before then I never even considered a dragons eating habits. Another was when I first rode a horse (can't wait to get Shadowmere!). And my last one I mentioned in another thread but it was so awesomely odd I think it deserves reiteration. I was on my female Bosmer character, who is a sort of assasin/thief/battle mage/archer amalgam (if it can be used to fight she uses it lol), doing the Thieves Guild quest where you break into Mercers house. So she makes her way to his house and on the way a drunkard asks for change, she gives it to her, then proceeds to the gate in front of Mercers house and, while sneaking of course, breaks the lock. Now keep in mind she has a fairly high sneak level - she's sneaked right in front of hostile bandits before and not been attacked. Next thing I know she's being attacked by the dude who watches Mercers house - he's just whaling on her and she doesn't have a spell hotkeyed like usual so she hits him back with her glass mace. Then out of seemingly nowhere the previously closed gate bursts open and the drunkard lady comes through it and just starts stabbing Mercers helper over and over with a steel dagger. This gives my character time to whip out a fireball spell and finish him off. The drunkard lady then proceeds to make a crack somewhere along the lines of, "You're not going to burn me with that are you?" about the Fireball spell my character had just used, and runs off. I don't know what caused that or if it's normal or what, but it was amazing. The crack about the fireball spell was just epic. Best wow moment for me so far. :)

I've had a few "wow" moments in Skyrim, but one stands out along the others. I was looking to marry Yosalda (not sure if that's how you spell it) so I decided to attack a giant camp. I shouted down the giant and finished him off no problem. The mammoth on the other hand, was a problem. My sword did almost no damage to the beast. But I continued to fight on. While I'm hiding from the mammoth healing my self, a dragon flies by and starts attacking me. So now I have mammoth and a dragon working in tandem to make my day a living hell. So I call Odahviing to help out. So now I'm fighting this huge mammoth with Odahviing and the dragon fighting each other in the air. Soon the mammoth and the dragon lay dead and I bid Odahviing farewell as I make my way to Whiterun.

So I was making my way down the path from Azura's place, high upon a mountain, and a frost troll attacks. Boring right, yes, I know... I quickly dispatch the poor troll. I continue down the path, and what do I see?? A bunny, hurtling through the air. That's right, as if from an unseen force, a bunny was flying through the air from right to left, and to the left was a cliff... Said bunny sailed right off the cliff to heights unknown. So someone threw a bunny through the air for hundreds of feet as I was traversing the path...That bunny got height! What the hell is going on up there? Anyone else seen this?

Call me slow but I only just found out you can have the Dragon Aspect shout while in Werewolf form. Man it is so cool! You don't have the armour but your fur glows orange. Your attacks are stronger and when your health goes below 50% you still have your dragon spirit come and fight for you. Team that with the perks in the Werewolf tree and The Ring of the Hunt (Health regenerates) and you're an unstoppable beast. Very awesome.

So I bought Skyrim for the second time on PC, first was on X360. And then I realised I can mod the PC Skyrim... I will never go back to vanilla Skyrim, ever...

I don't know if this is much of a "wow" moment but, in castle Volkihar, in Velarica's Labratory there are the ashes of someone in Falkreath o_O some how Valerica helped with/stole the ashes of Berit.

^ Yeah, that was one weird glitch.

I knew that NPCs can loot stuff from dead bodies/chests, but today was the first time I've ever seen an NPC use a looted item long after the looting...
A few game days earlier a dragon had chased me all the way to Whiterun stables, and during the battle at least two guards were killed. Ria decided to seize the opportunity, and looted a bow & arrows from one of the guards.
Now, a few days later when I ran into her in Eastmarch, she was still using the very same bow! Maybe she's been taking lessons from Aela. :)

If you free the prisoner that is with the patrols (thalmor/imperials) the prisoner will loot a corpse for weapons.

How do you backstab a Dragon?

And attack you with them if you hit them accidently.

Yeah, but I won't run into the prisoner three days later, and see him using the weapon.

The prisoner rarely lives to the end of the fight. And if they do they don't make it to the next town. Come to think if it they don't survive me, I like to practice my sneak attacks on them.

This one was a different type of "wow" moment. When I started my current playthrough, I did the quest to rescue Thorald Gray-Mane from the Thalmor torture chamber. When Fralia lead me into her house, I got greeted by Avulstein pulling a battleaxe on me, followed by Fralia yelling "Avulstein, put that down!" in the same way that one would tell their kid to clean his room or put his toys away. And he just says "yes, mother...".

I watched a badass, probably 30-something-year-old warrior put his battleaxe away just because his mom scolded him.

I was like "Wooooooow...".

Does that count?

Two first times that I experienced today were pretty much WOW.

- A Skooma dealer was wearing Dragonplate boots (I'm level 44)!
- Melee killcam on a Giant! My Insight spell called it a pushover, so I was confident I'd survive melee. And I did. The killcam was cool, too.

One of my recent wow moments was when I was walking to Riften and stopped at a bridge. Stupid bear tried to attack me. Well I looked up and saw 7 waterfalls. They were so beautiful. Also the red moon with the northern lights always takes my breath away. Seeing the cave the eldergleam is in. And many more. I have wow moments all the time.thewandfaendalwaterfall.jpg

On a whim I decided to visit the Temple of the Divines in Stormcloak-controlled Solitude. I wanted to see if the shrine of Talos had been returned to its alcove, although I was fairly certain it wouldn't be there.

But it was! Yet another small thing that makes a big difference.
