How do you backstab a Dragon?
Yeah, I realize that's pretty high, but it's time.

Blackthorne - Nord - female - spellsword: 430 magicka/430 Health/170 Stamina: 100 Destruction, 90 Conjuration, 89 Illusion (others in the 30's): uses either bound weapons or a Dragonbone Bow - 41 shock and soul suck & dragonbone battleax - 21 health absorb and 41 shock damage. Wearing dragonscale armor, boots and gauntlets with necklace, ring and circlet (and occassional falmer mask) although considering changing to Aetherium Crown with Ritual and Lady stones. (magicka regen is at 325, 96% fire resist, +60% health regen, -104% destruction cost w/perks as well in the schools to reduce as well).

I realize she seems a bit OP, but am wondering if y'all have any suggestions for her on becoming Volkahir. Playing on Master and still getting served if I'm not careful.

Thoughts all?

Go Dawnguard or Go Home! Vampires are for elf weaklings, not the noble Nords of Skyrim! I mean seriously, they are terrorizing your people! :p

Well... so am I! Blackthorne is a real B****! One of her favorite activities is killing people then raising them and killing them again. I've never done vamp and I figured she'd be the perfect choice. Besides, I've done DG side before and have 2 characters I'm working up to there before too long as well (Redguard dual wielding werewolf and another Nord lady spellsword).

Looking at your character, I would assume you should do just fine. I've never done the vampire side of the storyline myself, so let me know how fun it is! :D

Try this: toss all the trinkets and armor. Use light armor, steel weapons, hunter bow. Got guts, go iron weapons. When you get to the chance take vampire armor. Then you will really have fun

LOL Actually, I like to enchant the finest jewelry I can find/make. My favorites are gold diamond necklace or ruby emerald. Sapphire can also command a high price. They are so valuable with such strong enchantments the vendors can only buy them only after you buy alot of their stuff. Nothing like basic armor, enchanted iron weapons (and the guards berate you for having it), and wearing a ring worth 4000 septums.

Actually I would consider keeping the trinket game save on the side and not overwriting it, then adopt the play style of the game characters. Either side.

Maybe you do, but I find being scared is frightening!

When in doubt, follow the fox.
So if you want to level up, switch to sword and board and enchant jewelry and gauntlets accordingly. In your current situation, my guess is you won't level up unless you make some switches. I'm curious to hear how it turns out to go Volkihir. I'm chicken to do that. I suppose you still go get auriel's bow, but you want blood arrows to darken the sky? I wonder what those snow elves will think of you!

Fortunately I still have a lot of growth to do on the weapons front and I've been legendizing enchanting like crazy to keep on leveling. Of course, what I'm going to do with 20,000 2K daggers, I have no idea, but I suppose I'll figure it out. Will let you know how it is being Volkahir. I just have to "liberate" Winterhold and take Windhelm (I wanted to get the war over with as a non-vamp, I figure I can always complete the main, TG & DB and Solstheim as a vamp). Just thought that, since Blackthorne is such a B**** anyhow, becoming a blood drinking monster wouldn't be much of a stretch.

How do you backstab a Dragon?
Update: finished the Civil War last night. Next steps getting the Ritual Stone on the Aetherial Crown and keeping my Lady Stone. Have to get Falmer Blood first for my Transmundane quest first so I'm off to Shimmermist this evening. Then off to Fort Dawnguard.

I might wait until the weekend as, somehow I saved over my Ingin Thorne (another spell sword, but far prettier and less violent & evil and my mage Den Moria) have to recreate them. Don't know what happened to my online saves of them either. They just seem to be gone. Boo Hoo!

Query re the book I get. Is there any way to retain it after using it? I realize that the glitch has been fixed, but I was reading that, after you read it, if you drop it you can pick it up and retain it. Has anyone tried that?

I have always been able to pick it back up and put it in a bookshelf, no worries.
Cool. It'll make a great prize, even if the glitch doesn't work anymore. :)

No, never drop down that far. I was playing on what I thought was Adept, only to find out that my son dropped it to Apprentice. Adept is more enjoyable, and I am thinking of stepping up to Expert with my warrior.

Being a Vampire Lord gives you amongst the greatest sense of power you can get in the entire game, Their are a lot of people who underestimate the power of a Vampire lord and dont truly understand what they actually are, I say you best join the Volkihar

For some skill sets, I have heard this. But what about a warrior? What benefit does becoming a Vampire Lord provide to a warrior?
