My Orc has the orange gold, but when I made him, I give him red eyes. I wonder if that has something to do with it.
I don't know. I gave my characters the same color eyes; black. I'll find out for sure with my lvl 33. I believe at lvl 40 is when I noticed the red eyes. Looks really awesome.

Am I the only one waiting for the DLC to start said new character? I'm wondering if there'll be new options in character creation, like specialized vampire eyes or hair or something. I realize this is probably not going to happen, but you know, juuuuust in case...

That's exactly why I plan on waiting lol ya never know they might be generous and have a few surprises

How many of you will be creating a new character for Dawnguard? And what kind of character—race, build, faction?

I've decided I will be creating an Altmer named Kalastria, after the vampire Kalastria Highborn in Magic: The Gathering. (Get it? Because an Altmer's racial power is called Highborn? Kind of proud of the level of geekery I have achieved with this idea, not going to lie.) I haven't decided on her build yet, though... I had been planning for awhile to play an electromancer and illusionist Altmer, but I'm not sure how well that will fit in with being a vampire. As for factions, well, she obviously won't be in the Dawnguard...

M'aiq just started his build yestarday. He's a Dunmer vampire and his name is Viktor. He's currently specializing in illusion and unarmed combat. Though M'aiq is considering starting an Orc due to their racial ability.

does any one know if we get more skill points to spend? as i understand there is going to be skill sets for vampire and werewolves? also will the crossbow fall under archery?

i think a witch hunter esque class would be cool, or a paladin??

witch hiunter: light armor, one handed, some magic ?

palading: heavy armor, sword n board or two handed, restoration, etc

they could role play into the new DLC easily,

I think I will create a Nord who lost his entire family to a vampire coven and also got bit himself. He outright refuses to feed and so his only thought is to kill every vampire he can find and only travells in the night for obvious reasons.

By Ysmir you're going to FREEZE to death!
What would you make your character in dawnguard?

Their story and race etc etc

Mine would be:

A Dunmer battlemage who migrate to Black Marsh then Cyrodil after the Red Mountain Incident. He had a large family and most of them were killed in the Oblivion Crisis and the Great War. He then moved to Skyrim where he was captured being falsely accused of associating with Ulfric.

Then he joins the Volkihar CLan

Well seeing allots being said about Dawnguard I thought I'd just add to it all...

Upon release will anyone be creating new characters or continuing there current one?

I've not even peaked my character to the best he can be yet or even complete quests such as civil war/thieves guild etc...
So just wondering when Dawnguard is released should I just continue my character?

My character is currently a level 36 Assassin...

One handed 80/100
Archery 60/100
Light armour 57/100
Smithing 84/100
Enchanting 87/100
Alchemy 35/100
Hp - 300/300
Stamina - 260/(Blank)

That all depends on you. I have 2 vampire builds that I want to use for Dawnguard before I even think about creating a new character.

I've merged three threads I found and kept the title of the most pertinent one.

I am still deciding which characters to use, but these are my favorite options:

1: Nord Vampire Hunter, basically I will be using crossbows and Werewolf when I am detected. He will be joining Dawnguard.

Dark Elf Nightblade, I will be using an Illusion Assassin combo and be joining the Volkihir Clan

2. Nord Crusader/Templar/Knight, this guy will join the Dawnguard, and use Heavy Armor with a shield and sword

Dark Elf Vampire Mage, like legit he will spec into only Vampire and only be a vampire and use their spells.

I need a little bit help picking which one, I even admit I am turning paranoi!

The Shadow of Elsweyr
Just started one. Nord sword and board warrior. Blue face paint and red hair. No magic or sneaking this time. I'll complete the companions then wait for dawnguard. Obviously I'll be staking me some vampires.

I became a vampire in Oblivion. It sucked.

Templar of Talos

Bane of Elves and Vampires
I've just started a new character, Heavy armour wearing, Dual weilding (sword in right hand, axe in left), Marksman (using a Bow but will switch to crossbows) Fem Nord Vampire Slayer. Doing Companions Quests at the moment. Not going to bother with magic.

And no, her name isn't Buffy, it's Athenja the Crimson :p

I look forward to Dawnguard's release, but at least we've all got somthing to do in the run up...

Currently working on my Dawnguard build. PS3 user has lots of time to perfect it. But so far I'm a werewolf, Breton with a nice Magic Resistance, High Alteration for AR while in Wolf Form, Who dual wields Bound Swords. I wear no Armor, just enchanted clothing. I kill rapidly, cause if I don't I'd die
