So, what's the story behind your first time playing Skyrim? Any funny stories, or anything random you wish to share.

I didn't get Skyrim until April 2012. I didn't even know how to play it, since I had no idea how to play Oblivion, which I played just a smidgen before. My first character was an Orc named Hymenpop XD Before I knew it, I destroyed Riverwood because I hit Ralof outside Helgen Keep. I thought to myself, "Well damn, you let me hit you with a sword no problem just a few seconds ago." Benor was my first follower, and he cracked me up all the time for whatever reason. I played on novice difficulty at first. Unfortunately, I killed off too many NPCs to continue that playthrough, so I ended up scrapping that one after obtaining Azura's Star. It was a funny playthrough though. I had my Orc be a mage using fire spells, and his signature armor was an Iron Helmet and apprentice robes. What a pyromaniac that character was. I loved the fact you could revive people and turn them into ash piles too. It wasn't until Dawnguard came out that I purchased it along with a better modem to connect my Xbox to, since I've played that whole time without patches lol.

Oh, wait, first time playing skyrim?

Well, for that I followed Ralof and progressed pretty normally up until I was approaching Bleak Falls Barrow. You see, for whatever reason, there was a giant in my way that I didn't realize DID NOT belong there. So I attacked it, and learned to fly. That character got scrapped a few hours later because I accidentally killed damn near everyone in Whiterun due to learning how to shout and pissing everyone off with my yelling.

It was fun, funny, and tragically, full of loading autosaves.

By Ysmir you're going to FREEZE to death!
I started and ended up trying to master all the skills. I actually thought I had to use all of them until my brother told me. I guess I just wanted to find all the features but I felt so stupid after that.

And it took me an hour to get to Riverwood. Why? Because I didn't follow the roads and was trekking through the mountains and would fall to my death everytime.

And of course, killed a chicken. You know the rest. :p

My first giant encounter was somewhere around level 14. I saw in the Skyrim gameplay that the player was easily taking on a giant so I decided to do the same. It was How to train you Dovahkiin :p

I was a late comer to the game. My husband finally bought himself an Xbox and Skyrim was one of the free games with it. I had no idea how to play it, being a total noob when it comes to xbox gaming..My first character, Leeloo, was naturally a Khajiit and she had to do absolutely every quest. Even the totally evil ones. I didn't have the DLC's back then. She was an archer, and a mage. Married Benor, who was her second follower after the tragic death of Lydia... (I had no idea I could re-load and bring her back to life). She lived in Breezehome mainly but had every other house in the game. She wore mostly Nightingale armour.

Then I got my own xbox and Skyrim came with it to. So I could play it on two xboxes! I started a new character on my Xbox, my beloved Wyldfyre. I took both Leeloo and Wyldfyre pretty far level wise, up to around level 78. That was before I even knew abut the Ebony warrior.

When the DLC's came out with the Skyrim: Legendary Edition I bought them. I now have three characters going at once, the other being stored on a flash drive.. Am I obsessed? o_O

Now I roleplay each character I make. Select what quests I want to do, and what armour/weapons they use. I also love making their character cards and banners.

When I first started playing skyrim, it was my little escape from a pretty rough time I was going through IRL, now, I just play for the love of the game.

I will not tolerate failure...
For me I remember siding with the Imperials and I had no idea that I did which is Ironic because I would have sided with them anyway, My very first Character was an Imperial then I changed characters and began using high Elves for quite some time my most fondest moment of playing Skyrim was when I first ventured across the map it was Unbelievable the detail and the vastness, this was the first time I notice the Aurora in the Sky as well, somehow I made my way to the edge of the marsh and could see Solitude I turned around a Damn Horker attacked me I was like WTF!!????, I also couldn't find the entrance to Solitude

Farfetch'd is judging you!
My first character was a High Elf. No reason other than the extra magicka. I used to play Oblivion a lot, so starting Skyrim, I knew I wanted to try some new things that weren't in the previous game, like dual-wielding. So, he was a dual-wielding mage. He swung around axes and swords, fried enemies with Fireballs (I remember being very impressed by the fireball effects back then, since Oblivion spell effects weren't anything special) or just let his Atronachs deal with them. Also, I had no idea that soul trapping, bound weapons and necromancy leveled conjuration really fast, so I was extremely frustrated by conjuration leveling, bought training from Phinis Gestor all the time.

How do you backstab a Dragon?
For my first time, in Helgen, apparently I sneaked throught the whole thing. I had no idea how to equip a weapon, use a spell, level up or go from 1st to 3rd person. I'm surprised I survived. I took Hadvar at his word and split up with him but it took me a good 4 hours to find Riverwood (I didn't know what the arrow was for!).

I can remember how creepy Bleakwind was the first time through. The first time I ran in to drauger they scared the bejeezus out of me and the boss at the end made me run like heck! (I didn't even get the dragonstone until I came back later - of course Secretfire yelled at me for that).

All I remember is sneaking through life in 1st person holding a dagger for about 10 levels being scared to death of getting killed. Somehow I ended up in Moss Mother Cavern and dead. That ended it for me.

My how things have changed. :)

First time I played Skyrim, I made an Orc warrior named Shrek. I followed Ralof out of Helgen and when I got to Riverwood, I killed the chicken in the middle of town and the whole town tried to kill me. This was weeks before I bought the game and I was playing a friend's copy.

It looked at me funny and it was in my way.
I luv how things get in your way. Even butterflies or dragonflies will stop you dead in your tracks and lords, don't even try to get out of the way of goats, bunnies or foxes - I think their written to get in your way.l

I did the same thing my first time and got annihilated by the 3 bandits in that small tent camp just off the trail. It's rather confusing that Hadvar (and Ralof, for that matter) have that disjointed line of dialogue. I assume that what they mean to say is that "it's best to split up" after reaching Riverwood, but to include the line right after exiting Helgen, and without that extra bit of explanation, is a bit baffling.

Once I finally made it to Riverwood, I talked with Lucan and assumed that the 'find the Golden Claw' quest was a nice, easy beginner quest. I died on the steps to Bleak Falls Barrow twice and got chewed up by Skeevers once before giving up and traveling to Whiterun instead.

Oh yeah. I can really relate. I hate those bandits (not now of course since I know how to handle them) and I had no idea that the folks at Bleak Falls were even there until I started getting hit by arrows and a guy with a warhammer started running at me!

He kept saying that to me to and I thought he really DID want me to leave, but I ignored him and stuck so close to his arse. Then on my way to Whiterun I was petrified that the soldiers coming towards me would attack me I attacked them first, three or four times, dying each time before I eventually just hid until they passed me and then ran all the way to Whiterun..

Oh those bandits, I love them. I frequent their camp when I want more archery/magica/weapon practice.. heh

I played on Master difficulty for a long time before I realized the reason everything was a tank was because of my settings. My robe wearing mage was utterly destroyed by enemies that couldn't fight their way out of a paper bag and I was sure that I was wandering in the wrong areas, since I had heard that some enemies are hand placed.

I swear my game came with Master as the default setting.
