I know that the thought of some chick denying the attractiveness of your most beloved Edward might be amusing for you, but that's my honest opinion.

It wasn't about Vampires or Werewolves, but a part of the female form. ;)

I have been reading all the threads of Vampire vs. Werewolf and I DO NOT CARE about mythology! I am trying to understand how they actually work in the game. I am not finding any of that kind of information. I do not want to know personal preferences, just how do they work. Can you control when you change? How do you overcome the sunlight problem with Vampirism? Can someone climb down from their high horses long enough to answer real questions?

Werewolves definitely by miles. While a vampire, you are damaged by sunlight. Werewolves are not damaged, except by the resting bonus, which is never received. As a werewolf, your howl will makes most forms of life around you run off because they are scared, and you can never get diseases. You also gain 100 health. If you're wondering why I know so much, I'm a werewolf, myself. I hope this helped your decision. :)

No need to get cranky

Are you referring to Dawnguard Werewolves and Vampire (Lords) or Vanilla game? This is important as the DLC affects both creatures quite a bit.

Ok no worries. I will just say that this is by no means a complete list as I will probably forget something. Especially the Werewolf side.

Vampire & Vampire Lord Pros: (please note that different abilities and effects occur at different vampire stages)

- Resistance to Frost 20-50%
- 100% immune to poison and disease (some rare exceptions apply)
- 25% more powerful Illusion Magic
- 25% harder to detect while Sneaking
- Many unique powers and magic (vampire drain, invisibility, reanimate just to name a few)
- Opens 'Necromage' exploit
- able to change back and forward into VL form at will
- VL form is very powerful and has potential to be more so with unlockable perks

Cons:

- Weakness to Fire 20-50%
- must feed to return to stage 1 (stage 4 is the highest). With Dawnguard, feeding is not necessary and with the right style of play, I would go as far as to say dont feed as you lose certain powers
- Weakness to Sunlight (15-60 less points in health/stamina/magicka and 0% H/S/M regeneration)
- Attacked on sight

The Cons can be easily fixed by avoiding sunlight and/or using strong enchantments or potions

Werewolf Pros

- Very powerful melee attacks
- Interesting and powerful perks able to be unlocked
- 100% immune to disease and poison (again rare exceptions)
- Increased health and stamina as a Were

Werewolf Cons

- Change once per day (unless you have a certain ring equipped)
- Change length is determined by how many bodies you feed on. This can be good and bad as its usually not hard to keep up the form, but as you cant interact with anything as a werewolf, you may have to let your game idle for several in-game hours to change to human (to open chest, doors etc)
- Your character is naked once they change back every time
- No sleeping bonus
- Attacked on sight

Hopefully this is what you were looking for :) Oh, and Vampire Lords are better ;)

. You're welcome. :) To become one, join the Companions in Whiterun. They are nice fellows and a few of the best followers. :)

Power wise, vampires (with DLC, at least). But if it's based on bada**ery, werewolves. Looks soooo much cooler when you get a visceral kill as a werewolf, plus you don't have the sun damage. I just wish there was some kind of night vision for werewolves, like "Predator's Gaze" or something awesome like that, but it's only available when you're in wolf form, and everything is tinged red.
