My Imperial, Arcturus, is a 27 year old descendant of the Hero of Kvatch and one of the last of his bloodline.

Before the great war, his father Tyrellius was a Blade living in Cloud Ruler Temple while his mother Livia lived nearby in the city of Bruma as a priestess in the Great Chapel of Talos. When Cloud Ruler Temple was destroyed by the Thalmor during the great war and the Blades virtually wiped out, Tyrellius managed to escape and fled with his wife to Leyawiin, taking up completely new identities.

Over time they had three children - Alessia, Arcturus and Percius. Eventually all three children moved out to pursue their careers. Alessia was a born warrior, and eventually became a highly respected member of Chorrol's Fighter's Guild. Arcturus, always fascinated by stories of the Dwemer, became a scholar in the Imperial City, frequently making trips to Skyrim and Morrowind to study the ancient Dwemer ruins there. Finally Percius, after always getting in trouble with the law in his adolescence, joined the Thieve's Guild.

Arcturus was always quiet but friendly, and valued friendship and love above all else. He was never willing to turn his back on those who needed him, and was always on good terms with almost everyone in the Imperial City. He did, however, have a nasty temper, and knew how to hold a grudge. Like the rest of his family, he firmly believed Talos belonged in the Imperial Pantheon, but due to the Empire's laws was forced to worship him in secret, and was unwilling to risk either his life or the lives of those he cared about by angering the Thalmor.

Unfortunately, through unknown means, the Thalmor had finally found Tyrellius and Livia. Arcturus heard the news first: his childhood home had been burned down with his parents still inside, and he knew all too well that the Thalmor were coming for him and his siblings. He sent word to both Percius and Alessia, telling them to flee. Praying to Akatosh that his siblings would make it through this dark time, he departed to Skyrim. Alessia fled to Hammerfell, arriving safe and sound. Percius, however, was intercepted by Thalmor agents on his way to Morrowind and was never heard from again.

Arcturus arrived in Skyrim depressed, hungry, and alone. Making his way to the nearest city, he found himself in the middle of a skirmish between Stormcloaks and Imperial Legionnaires, and ended up on a cart to Helgen with the other prisoners. After escaping Alduin's attack and making his way to Riverwood, he made his way to Whiterun to inform the Jarl of Helgen's fate. He had no idea at that point he would soon find out who he really was, Dragonborn, Ysmir, Savior of Skyrim.

Starting off as a noble if not heartbroken warrior, he served Skyrim and her people, joining (and eventually leading) the Companions as well as the College of Winterhold. It was at the College in fact that he met his future wife, Brelyna Maryon. With the knowledge he gained from these guilds, he helped the Dawnguard prevent the Tyranny of the Sun prophecy from coming to fruition and saved Solstheim from Miraak's shadow. And in honor of his parent's memory, he struck a blow against the Thalmor whenever and wherever he could.

When he had gained enough strength and confidence in himself, Arcturus felt it was finally time to face the World Eater and fulfill his destiny as Dragonborn. With the help of his friends and the dragon Odahviing, Arcturus succeeded and Alduin was banished from Nirn. Arriving at the College of Winterhold in triumph, he proposed to Brelyna, and the two were married soon after. But his work was not yet done, as the civil war still raged in Skyrim, and Elenwen's secret dossiers in the Thalmor Embassy had opened his eyes to the Thalmor's intentions. To end the bloodshed and hinder the Thalmor's plans, Arcturus joined General Tullius and the Legion, culminating in the final assault on Windhelm and Ulfric's execution by Arcturus' thuum.

Unfortunately, the straw that broke the camel's back eventually arrived in the form of Molag Bal, who imprisoned Arcturus and only agreed to release him until he brought Logrolf the Willful to the alter to be beaten into submission. He did these things for Bal, all the while praying to the Divines for aid. He received none, and as Logolf fell dead at his feet, he realized that the Divines no longer held any love for him or this world. From that point on he served Molag Bal and himself, joining the Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild with one goal in mind: to rule the Empire like his fellow Dragonborn Tiber Septim. To complete his fall, he became what he once swore to destroy - a dreaded Vampire Lord.

He wasn't without love for his fellow man however. Indeed, he believed what he was doing was in fact for the greater good of Tamriel. He led all the guilds, had fulfilled his destiny as Dragonborn and had become one of the most powerful figures in Tamriel's history. All that remained was to claim his rightful throne, and end the Dominion...

My Argonian has a name but most lesser people cannot understand it. He goes by "Listens-to-Roots" and he is a shaman type mage. He was sent to Skyrim to investigate the civil war and in the process he ran foul of an Imperial squad who grabbed him in order to interrogate him about the current situation within Black Marsh. He gave them no information and as such they decided to have his head take a stroll, but as fate intervened (or rather Alduin) he made his escape with Hadvar whom he had before had a vision about.

He cares nothing about this "Dragonborn" mess. He longs to return to his home but until the dragon situation is finished he is bound to Skyrim, as she is bound to him. He has no permanent home, he resides wherever he feels like whenever he feels like doing so. He faced down Harkon, Miraak, completely ignored the Dark Brotherhood, the Companions, the Thieves' Guild and only goes to the College to buy and sell things. It is far too cold for his liking to live in Wintehold, and he is quite fond of the areas around Morthal and Riften. He took all the Deadric artifacts that he could and keeps them away from those who would use them to unbalance the world, the same reason he dealt with Alduin, Harkon, and Miraak. He is sworn to stay in Skyrim until he can set things right with the Empire and the Dominion...if that means using his voice to tear their souls from their bodies then he will certainly to it...happilly :D

My name is Ralius Grekis. I was born in a small village just east of the imperial city of cyrodiIl on the 10th of suns height in the year176 4th era. My parents came from skyrim to pursue a life for themselves. My father Hatius was an imperial who moved to skyrim in his youth to be a black Smith's apprentice under a master Smith named Meros Stone-hammer my father fell for the daughter of Meros, my mother. My mothers father didn't approve of their love because he wanted to keep his family pure with only nord blood. So my mother and father fled in the middle of the night for cyrodiil. My father used his skills as blacksmith to raise enough gold to buy a small house for the two of them. When I was born my father and mother had a good reputation for being master Smiths when it came to forming steel. When I was 8 my mother told my father that she felt guilty for leaving her family in such a way so she decided to return to skyrim to settle things with her family. The days turned to weeks and the weeks turned to months. My father grew very concerned and sent a letter to her family but received no response. My father figured my mother would return when she was sure things were alright with her family. After a few years my father grew colder and colder towards my mother. He said that she had abandoned us. To pass the time as a child I would play with the daggers my father had forged, but as time passed the daggers became swords and play became practice. My father told me that to understand a blade I must know how to create one I spent many weeks trying to forge the perfect sword. My father was impressed with my dedication. After finally forging a perfect steel sword I resumed my practice. At the age of 25 my father's shop was raided by a group of bandits, my father was slain in cold blood, left with nothing I decided to head to skyrim to find my mother and confront her. On my way I was attacked by group of nord soldiers and taken prisoner they thought I was an imperial spy. A few days after my capture their leader Ulfric stormcloak decided to release me. After my release I asked to follow them because I didn't know the land of skyrim they agreed. Only a few short hours later we were attacked by the imperial legion, I was unarmed and defenseless I tried pleading that the nord soldiers were decent people but I was hit across the head with an iron shield and rendered unconscious. I awoke days later on a carriage, my hands bound my spirit broken. Headed for a place called helgen. where I faced execution and survived because a dragon attacked as my head was on the chopping block

I have two, but do not know how long I will keep them so:

Villea, my imperial knight/paladin/crusader/whatever you want to call her, is a noblewoman from Cyrodiil. She and her younger sister were quite wealthy, but also helpful of others. While her younger sister took to diplomacy and probably stealth work, Villea learned the art of sword and shield combat. The sisters were also incredibly close, and did everything together. When Villea had a tourney or a contest to compete in, her sister was there to support her, and when her sister had to go to stupid parties, Villea went. This made some other nobles wonder what was really going on behind the closed doors of their home. Rather than subject her sister to any backlash in the diplomatic/nobility functions, Villea left, wandering the province in order to find a place she could call home. Villea ended up in Skyrim where she took up mercenary work, helping the local citizens with anything they needed, while also adopting some defensive magics into her arsenal.

Jerian Ashcroft, my resurrected Breton Nightblade, was simply a mercenary and a thief. Nothing important about his life at this time.

I use Random Alternate Start mod which means no more Helgen on a cart for me.

"Zu'u Alduin. Zok sahrot do naan ko Lein!"
Yngvar Heart-Fang has yet to be created but I have his story mostly mapped out. He was born in the Imperial City twenty five years ago to a merchant couple. Being the youngest of three children and born after the Great War, he was born without the prejudice of his older siblings and couldn't understand why his parents would forbid him from speaking to any of the local elves. The truth of the matter was his father Ulfgar was actually one of the last members of the Blades, having survived the attack on Cloud Ruler Temple and had, along with his wife and several other sympathizers, been waging his own underground war against the Dominion. Prisoners arrested for Talos Worship would escape their captors, and High Elven Justiciars would be found dead in their beds.

Knowing that his actions if discovered would mean the deaths of his family, Ulfgar taught his children how to defend themselves in the style of the Blades as they grew up. By the time he was an adult, Yngvar had become an esteemed member of the Fighter's Guild in Bruma. Unlike his siblings who joined his parents in their mad scheme of revenge, Yngvar decided to use his strength to protect men and mer alike, though his deeds mattered little to the Dominion. When they had found enough evidence after years of espionage and murder to convict the Heart-Fang Clan, the Thalmor moved in to make their arrests. Rather than become a prisoner and face death on a chopping block, Ulfgar and his family stood their ground and took as many Justiciars with them to the next world as they could.

Learning of his family's demise and knowing the elves were coming for him, Yngvar fled to the closest province he believed could keep him safe: Skyrim. Soon after arriving, Yngvar was caught up in an Imperial ambush and before he knew it he was stripped of his possessions and tossed aboard a cart bound for Helgen. While the horse thief panicked over their impending doom, Yngvar could only stew in his own rage over all that had happened. Against all odds, he escaped the headsman's axe and the dragon's wrath along with his unlikely ally Ralof. He emerged from Helen a different man, aloof and stern. His sense of justice remained though, and he took it upon himself to deliver it upon Skyrim even if the Imperials wouldn't.

More to come on his life in Skyrim and the choices he made regarding Alduin and the war.

I decided to try two (three actually, but I only have two with backstories) "new" characters and see what I can come up with:

My Nord, Jorunn, was a small farm boy in Cyrodiil. He decided to try his hand at mercenary work, and was quite successful. He even fell for one of his female companions until she betrayed the company to a group of bandits. Heartbroken he joined an adventure to Skyrim only to find that the people of Skyrim are suffering under the Empire. He will join the Stormcloaks at some point.

Ysara, my Breton, is the illegitimate daughter of the queen of Daggerfall. She was not kept a secret, but her birth to the queen was. She was a mere serving girl when the crown princess, a "sister" of hers, chose her to become her personal handmaiden. The princess to a shine to her, and left hints for her to pick up. Ysara noticed and tried to nip the issue in the bud without revealing her bloodline. Things did not go that well and she got seduced by her sister. She then left in the middle of the night one day, disgusted with herself, and left a note revealing the truth. She then found her way to Skyrim. Not sure which side she will join.

Lurknir

There's only one hell, the one we live in now.
This looks like a fun thread.

My character is called Lurknir and he is an Argonian male. Before he came to Skyrim, he was a thief in Morrowind and also assisted in raiding villages with his brethren. However he wanted to return to his home in Black Marsh but he was a wanted man there and in Morrowind as well. So he decided to travel to Skyrim and hopefully live a quieter life there. But he was captured by Imperials and, well you know the rest...
