Mind control? Like calming people or whipping them into a frenzy? Or do you want people to go and do things for you? There's followers for that. And turning people into gold coins? I can't imagine how mental you'd go on the forums regarding such a game breaking feature.

I mean literal mind control, hop into their body for 30 seconds to do whatever, maybe trigger a trap, lead people away, start a fight, something interesting.

So long story short you want a game that has so many new and improver features it can no longer be accurately called an RPG?

No, I want a game that tries something new and deviates from the normal path of things. Like maybe instead of that same old boring heal you summon a flying angel thrall that as long as she's alive will heal you, or something on that level. I don't want something that will ruin the game like the ability to fly or some garbage, just a fantasy game that's willing to take major advantage of the fact that they aren't bound by petty things like physics and logic.

Dave, The Quiet One.
Can't you use the Transmute spell to turn iron ore/ingots into gold? I might be wrong on the exact function of this spell, as I've never used it.

The Transmute Spell turns Iron Ore into Silver Ore then turns Silver Ore into Gold Ore. After you have converted all your Iron & Silver Ore into Gold Ore you then use the Smelter to make Gold Ingots.
I've used it a lot on past characters.

Jersey Dagmar

Just in time for the fiyahworks show! BOOM!
Damn, wish I knew about that earlier! Now with the Smithing nerfed. That's a great way to get Gold Ingots to make Jewelry to boost up Smithing. Thanks Dave!

Waitwaitwaitwait... You said you made a few characters on the console up to level 50-60, showing that you liked playing enough to get that high up? And then to do it again, as you said? And you also bought it TWICE for Pc and console? Sounds a lot to me like you like the game and are just trolling us...

No, like I said before, I am not trolling. As you can see, Skyrim is truly a huge game packed with content, the reason I am criticizing it is because I want it to be great. I am holding it to a higher standard in the hopes that it eventually will truly earn and deserve those GOTY awards it's getting left and right. Does that make sense?

Also, if I like this game enough to buy it twice, why on earth would I go around saying all it's flaws with no reason behind it?

That's what I want to know...

Earlier, you claimed that this game had little content. And here you are saying it's packed with content.

As I have mention before, and if you will be as gracious to reply this time, Skyrim is a Role Playing Game. An RPG. It is built to be played in your mind and in your pc / console. When you fly over the thinking, and the development of your character, you just missed an entire spectrum of the game.

Regarding your "the game is boring!11!1!!", it's very commonplace to create your own fun when a game becomes bland. :coffee:

Actually I said a lot of the content is repetitive, and I still stand by that statement.

I agree with Mr1cammando I just don't see why someone would waste their money on a game for two different platforms and spend endless hours to reach level 50 and above on a game they apparently don't enjoy just to say that this game sucked and it didn't provide enough content to your liking, but somehow enough for you to waste so much of your time.

I also agree that it probably got repetitive after a while of playing it with little purpose but to level up, so in that regard it's probably not so much that the game sucks but that you're rushing through it too much. Although some of what you say could have some factor into it.

- The world has no variety whatsoever. When you finish the intro sequence and escape from the dragon, that very first view you get of Skyrim... that's ALL you are going to see for the rest of the time you play the game.

- The combat system is shallow. All the melee weapons feel exactly (aside from the obvious weight/speed difference between a dagger and a hammer) the same. The monsters in the game barely react to your hits, each weapon type only has a couple moves and a majority of the time you will simply be spamming the same one because otherwise your stamina will go to sh!t and so will your damage output. There is absolutely zero reason to use one weapon type over another. It's all the same sh!t. Each hit feels week and unsatisfying, like you're fighting against air.

- The story is extremely bland and there are 0 interesting NPCs/quest lines. Oblivion AT LEAST had the Dark Brotherhood and a couple of other awesome quests.

-The dungeons all feel exactly the same, and are only slightly better than Oblivion's.

- Worst itemization of any RPG game ever. Every single item you find throughout the world is completely worthless. There are no interesting affixes on the weapons and they all look bland as hell.

I hyped the hell out of this game ever since Bethesda even released a name for it. I had the app on my phone that counted down the days and I was at the door at midnight waiting for my copy.

I played this for less than 3 weeks and I have not touched it until this morning. I'm level 24 with the best armor and I can craft the best weapons in the game. I put on the hardest difficulty and I'm still slaughtering everybody. The Dragon fights are boring after the 15th time fighting one and the quests are so god awful and easy, way points telling you exactly where you go and what you do.

What happened to the NPCs giving you a vague description of where to go? So when you're doing a quest you have to remember to keep your eyes open and use the area to find who/what you're looking for.

What happened to the mix and matching your armor pieces, looking for the 1 of the 3 daedric helms to perfect your armor set?

What happened to actually traveling on foot and taking a silt strider or boat and not just opening up the map, fast traveling and bam being at the city.

What happened to large open cities that were under constant bandit attack?

What happened to spears?

Where did this casualization come from?

Bethesda has been lazy for a while, providing the basic framework for something that is really crap until the community starts piling on the mods. This game doesn't deserve the GOTY awards it gets, the community does. I just don't understand how anyone can still buy Bethesda's crap in 2012. Skyrim is -barely- an RPG. They are very, very obviously going after the CoD crowd and all their games have gotten progressively more dumbed down with each successive entry. Bethesda is one of the worst companies right now, and if their new steampunk RPG doesn't pull them out of this rut then they are going to be on the chopping block just like Blizzard and Bioware, and just like Blizzard and Bioware, I'm abandoning ship before it fully sinks and I go down with it.

If your didn't like oblivion why did u buy sky

Have you played Portal? Portal's a good game. So is Portal 2. They are both really funny as well. There is also an excellent song at the end. It made me laugh. Have you heard it? It's great.

You should play Portal and after you have played that - you should play Portal 2.

Both very good games Portal and Portal 2.

edit: well of course this post is off topic - it's called 'changing the subject'.

I don't like it when people bicker...

You dont "change the subject" on a forum. A thread is to remain on topic, and nothing else...

I recommend you check out Skyrim "Hardcore" Playstyle | Skyrim Forums It helped me get back into Skyrim. I was getting really bored with it, and felt like I was going to touch it anymore. Throw in some things to make it more challenging. If you're level 24 and have the best weapons and armor, of course it's not going to be any fun -__- Restart, take a different approach. Or just deal with the fact that you don't like the game. Don't really see why you came here to bash this game. Guess people gotta vent somehow

Let me just say that, while everyone is entitled to their own opinion, how many other games out there are like Skyrim? Aside from Oblivion, there's really not much to compare it to. So, what's a good rpg? Final Fantasy 13?? HA! I'm sorry, but I've played hundreds of rpg type games, and Skyrim, despite not having the combat physics of a fps, is one of the best because it's unique.

I hate FF type rpgs, where you're basically led from cutscene to cutscene in a friggin' cinematic movie. The only exception is Star Ocean, the most challenging and customizable rpg series I've ever played, and that's because it isn't turn-based. Skyrim is more open-ended than just about any rpg ever made. If Skyrim is boring to you, then don't play rpgs, because every other one gives you about 50 hours of gameplay, tops. You're never done with Skyrim. That's the attraction to this game.

With all that being said, you do make good points. In other words, ways to make the game better. But you have to be fair. No game is perfect. You could make a wish list for every game ever made and say that, "Because this game lacks the things I listed, it sucks."

Can people stop resurecting the thread? The troll's logic bubble popped long ago, lets not encourage him back.
A thread has to have actually died for it to be resurrected. If you think the OP is a troll then you don't understand the meaning of the word. If you don't like the thread then don't read it. Posting in a thread that you want to die is counterproductive because you just bumped it up the page.
