Slaying Trolls and taking names.
Solstheim is the island where the Snow Prince is buried, which is not too far from Skyrim and maybe close to Dawnstar as it is a port, so maybe the Snow Elves (Or Falmer) will attempt at controlling Dawnstar so they can get to their prince and regain what they lost when the Dwemer inslaved them.

So where do the vampires fit into this since they were also in the patch items with the snow elves ?
Could Dawnguard have them as allies of some sort with the cult ?
Perhaps dawn refers to Dawnbreaker , not Dawnstar ?
Bethesda is tighter with their info than an insider stock trader .

Remember that the "Vampire" thing is just a couple of new "Vampire Feeding" animations that were Data-mined. That's the only reason I take the whole "Vampire Expansion DLC" theory lightly. Of course I do like the theory of the "Vampire Hunter" thing (Shooting Stakes to the heart with Crossbows woot!)

Of course all just theory with White-knuckles

Isn't Dawnstar a bit of a port city? What if you take a boat somewhere? Like Falmer-vampire-mythic dawn-Mehrunes Dagon- Island?

I'd love to see some dwemer. They're too mysterious what with all their technology then suddenly disappearing with no trace of where they went.

I sorta already said that..

I agree it would be cool to go back to Solstheim. It's actually pretty ideal. It would be new and interesting to the People that don't know it, and would be nostalgic to those that do.

(eer if that is what you said before that is)

Wait, back it up to the Dawnstar lore. It said the Four Warriors tried to make a deal. Perhaps you are just one of four in the DLC?

From what I remember the snow princes tomb is in Solsthiem (from Morrowinds Bloodmoon expansion) so maybe the DLC is set there? It is a small snowy island to the east of Skyrim. It's mainly ran by nords, had something to do with werewolves which are back, and also had the glenmoril witches which were brought back in Skyrim. Just a thought..

I'd love to get me a reikling blade again!

[oh, someone already beat me to it mentioning solsthiem lol sorry]

why has everyone been taking the title so literally? is bethesda so dull and predictable that "dawnguard" has to relate to the mythic dawn? i for one think these ideas are incredibly silly, especially given the leaked files, which give no hints toward anything of the sort. i'm certain the mythic dawn will play absolutely NO role in this at all, especially since dagon himself says "he and his family have outlived their usefulness". none of us know what this will be about, and elementary guesses like these are a bit of an insult to the writers at bethesda.

Just because there is no mention of something means nothing to disprove it. Though I also feel that the Mythic Dawn are old news.
