The design choice for Nashandra was terrible, and I think Mr. M didn't keep the new guy on a tight enough leash. She was supposed to represent death, and she literally seems to. But the fight was terrible and unimpactful, the symbolism was terrible, everything about it was just terrible. It would have been better if we'd fought a more normal looking queen, imo. She fails in ever respect for the part should was supposed to play.

As for your second comment, I don't think I understand your question well enough to answer it... but the amount of negativity for Souls games on these forums has stunned me. People just want it to be a game that it isn't, I guess.

Gidian, are you still online at this late hour, Gidian? You see, I've put Dark Souls 1 in and gone back to the undead burg, for dueling. I AM MILDRED. I am obliterating folks as MILDRED. Come fight, the drunken Mildred. Really.... people shouldn't be losing to me, but they are!

I wasn't up, lol. Also I don't really play Dark Souls 1 anymore. One day I'll go back to it, but that day is still in the future. How distant it is, idk yet.

Drunk typing... I hate when I do that. Well I did have fun killing people as Mildred. Since the butcher knife is present in DS2, I'll have to make an approximation of her.

Although Dark Souls II is a better game in some ways, it is not as enjoyable as either Dark Souls or Demon's Souls. I can't pinpoint why this is. All I know is lately I've gone back to the first game, mainly to duel PvP, and I have a blast. I've even considered starting a new build on Demon's. And then there's Dark Souls II, and I feel like I should proceed, but I don't look forward to it. Like it's some chore that I'm putting off. This saddens me greatly, because I've long looked forward to this game. How do you folks feel?

I'm afraid I don't relate at all. I love Dark Souls 2, although the story and atmosphere are inferior to its predecessors in almost every way.

Also, I now have a whole new perspective on the storyline entirely, as well as what the First Flame is, and basically EVERYTHING. The second game DID give a lot of insight, but that's about all it had going for it story wise.

I'm glad that you don't relate. I want the game, and the franchise in general to succeed. I still haven't gone back to it though. I will, but not yet. Not yet. I'm active on the first game almost every night. Made a new character a couple weeks ago designed for cos play pvp heavy builds. Smough, Havel, Golem, Tarkus, Artorius, Seigmeyer. It's actually quite fun just going through the game like that. I think to myself: "Ok, who's going to do this level...?" Most of the time it's Seigmeyer. I just love the way that set looks! Obtaining it will be my top priority when getting back into DS II.

Lol. That sounds fun. I can't believe people actually like the look of the Onion bro set xD

haha, it's hilarious! And yet somehow still powerful!

Regarding DS II, if that really is Ornstein, where the hell is Smough? And by the way, I pronounce it "Smuff."

I pronounce them "Oppression and Suffering".

Slough is dead. He is not shown to live in the cut scenes, he just dies. He also did not possess part of a lord soul or whatever that Gwyn gifted to his knights. It is possible that when Gwyn reincarnated, Ornstein came back as well. Though that would not explain where the others went. Did Ciaran and Gough even drop boss souls? It's possible Artorias was too tainted by the abyss to reincarnate properly.

Again, just another theory. I prefer my first one, where he stumbled away from our fight(possibly in much the same way Nashandra stumbled away from Manus) and fofound his way to the new kingdom.

Poor Ciaran and Gough are lost to history. Gough, I suppose, lives on in his carvings. "Very Good!" is my personal favorite. I wonder if there's a t-shirt with that on it..?

Do you know where the Catarina Knight invades? I know it's in NG+, I just don't know where.

Sorry, I haven't done NG+ yet (in either game, actually)

I'll dip my cookies in your tears.
I didnt actually play much of dark souls, the game stopped working on steam and i didnt have the patience to try to fix it, so i bought DS2. I tried to play as a bandit to start with, but couldnt do it, so i started a fresg and intended just to play around and get used to the mechanics as a Deprived. Honeslty im finding it a hell of a lot easier. Granted im only level 16, but im enjoying it so much!

The harder you make it for yourself the faster you get better, typically.

I can understand that. I do feel like I'm playing it more cautious this time, constantly squealing to my girlfriend as i go around a corner or manage to decrypt a message about a boss

Haven't played it in awhile now, are there any patches that I should be aware of? I've been meaning to get back to it, but it seems all I want to do now is play Skyrim!
