So what do you think of Dragon Scale Armor and Dragon weapons

How do you backstab a Dragon?
Am seriously considering upping my smithing perks to the 100 mark so I can create dragonscale armors and dragon bone weapons for my spellsword.

Currently she's using vamp armor and nordic weapons.

Your thoughts? Either way they'll be full tricked with enchantments though (of course I'll have to change over to gold jewelry since silver clashes with the scales :))

I was in the same boat. I wanted to upgrade my light armors, but was never a fan of the Dragonscale look. Too warrior-ish in appearance. Stats are definitely a boon, but the appearance just doesn't suit. I finally opted to install an armor mod that looked better, but still required appropriate smithing perks to craft.

Unfortunately PS3 so now mods. I luv the stuff but it can be a little overwhelming (that's why I stick with vamp on my spellswords since elven & glass just look silly and leather is bland). Besides, she's sneaky and only very rarely gets hit.

I'd probably just rely on perking up my light armor and sneak skills then. But that's only because I'm pretty vain, and place too much emphasis on appearance. Dragonscale is definitely an improvement Stat wise though.

Then too. You have the option to acquire the Nightingale and/or Dark Brotherhood armors, which should have set bonuses. Though I'd prefer to wait until at least level 32 to get Nightingale to ensure that you receive the highest tier set (can't remember if the DB armor is affected by level acquired).

When in doubt, follow the fox.
Dragonscale looks HOT on female Dragonborns. Like little shorts. I wore dragonbone armor forever, then switched to dragonscale. Probably won't ever go back. With enchantments, my armor rating is over 800. That has allowed me to take hits that would otherwise do me in, and now I'm at 100 in light armor. NOTHING beats dragonbone weaponry. Only do so if you like to plow through dragons and Draugr Death Overlords like a hot knife through soft butter.

I like both armors (okay the DB makes you look like a superhero and can't be worn in public), but, as a magic user need to be able to enchant. I luv the Nightingale Hood, but it only has rather paltry enchantments. Doesn't really matter though since, while I will get them both at some point (my Blackthorne is a hot tamale - which is why she wears red-vamp armor), but my character is not going to give up 300% magicka regen, - 130% on cost, protection from fire, + 30% one hand/archery and +70% on sneak for pennyanty armors when she can make better herself. She's getting ready for Solstheim and Alduin so she wants to be prepared.

The only thing I don't like about the dragonscale is the epelauts (sic), their just too 1985 Dynasty looking. I too luv dragonbone weaponry. Sure it's strong, but it just looks really, really cool too. I'm not a huge fan of the helmet, but I have a trick where I can wear it along with a falmer helmet and I think it would look really cool when she's a vamp.

Now then, this is something i have struggled with for ages, and that is the look of Dragonscale armor, however i did do something as an experiment once (just bear with me) that seemed to please my eye very much, but i cannot show a picture of it, so i suggest you just try it and that is, full Dragonscale armor without the helmet but wear this instead, and it looks really cool on female characters, IMHO

And now that you have all stopped laughing, try it on other armor sets too, , honest with the right stuff it does look good, but as i said its more for female characters, , ,

Perkless in Skyrim

Bad to the Dragonbone.
I remember liking the look of Dragonscale. I favor light armor and would only make the heavy version for a follower. I can't speak for the weapons since I didn't get the DLC til after the character that achieved 100 in Smithing was long gone. Question though: Are there Dragon Bone bows? I will be a happy camper if so. Likewise, can you craft Dragon Bone arrows?

I like the dragonscale armor on female characters, but not the gauntlets or boots (so pointy!). And I only wear the helm with my OG Bosmer, because it turns out I like her face much better without her hair.

On my most recent light-armor character I sported the dragonscale armor with Linwe's gray Thieves Guild boots, gloves and hood (only in the rain or snow). I really liked the look. Pics:

If I could redesign the cuirass I would remove the claw-spikes from the pauldrons and chest piece.

There is a Dragonbone Bow and it is probably my favorite looking bow in the game. Just looks awesome. And yes to Dragonbone Arrows, too.

I had a light armored Battlemage, who used Dragonscale armor + Apprentice or Adept Hood. I can't remember.

Farfetch'd is judging you!
I quite like both of the dragon armors. Especially the helmets, they are one of the few good-looking helmets in the game (along with the Helm of Yngol).

Dragonscale armor fits an Argonian really well.

I love the look of Dragonbone armor, and Dragonscale is cool too but it's light so I never really use it, my char prefers heavy :) Dragonbone weapons are WAY better than any others, however, Daedric armor has a higher armor rating than Dragonbone, so I wear Daedric still.

"My char prefers heavy"?

You only have one character? Wow, I could never even hope of sticking to just one... But, to each their own.

You could be right. I like wearing a cowl and have a couple in my storage. Perhaps I could trick it up and see.

Thanks for the thought!

I use the dragon bone bow and the battle axe a good bit. Would use more except I have a few mods for primary weapons for my main characters. I liked the armor overall but by the point you get to have it, for me at least, it wasn't as important to have the strongest armor. I use it a lot though for followers, especially non-essentials

Why is the alto wine always gone?
i don't use dragon armor just for the fact that my characters tend to be Heavy Armor. Daedric beats dragon armor hands down, now when i play Light Armor builds, i usualy wear quest gear example DB/TG armor, again when i can 1 shot an ancient dragon on legendary with mith my ebony bow, i dont need good armor rating, everything dies in 1 hit, and if it does't that why i carry poisons, i have poison that do in accsess of 200 poisoin damge per hit, toss in some paralyze potions and im set. Basically armor is used for looks and not function with my Light Armor builds.

I loathe Daedric. You look like some alien. To me it's just ugly and not at all graceful or attractive.

I can't imagine that all those points, wings and glowing slashes do anybody any good.

It's like: "Hey guys! Look over there! There's some glow-in-the-dark dude coming! Let's get ready to fight!"
