I've traveled to 3 different Capitols and unequipped reequipped, dropped, left in a chest for 24 hours wait time. The effect won't go away. I gotta go to the thieves guild and see how this +9mil % lock picking helps lmao

going into the negative numbers can screw you over. I wouldn't over do it. For one of my files I did the same thing, and after a while the fortify alchemy enchantment of -1359810358159% only worked on like two potions that I didn't need, the others were all broken at 5%.

Well I eventually took it off again (Nightingale hood) and it reset. Maybe it had a ridiculous amount of time stacked? But reloading and not taking it off Im still going strong many in game weeks later.
Never messed with illusion until this glitch. Now I'm addicted!

I agree that alchemy does not raise nicely, especially if you intend to discover ingredient effect by yourself.
One of my toon wanted to be a legit alchemist (no cheat, no guide, nothing but in game information), and she still has to find a potion with good value and common ingredient that would raise her skill.

The problem with your cheat (which use the fact that fortify restoration is applied to your gear) is that combined with a fortify smithing or enchanting potion it allow you to make +100 000 % smithing potions (or enchants). This means weapons doing as much damage as you want. In others words it will destroy your game experience.

If you really want to get to 100 alchemy fast in a non legit way there is a simple way :
Type IncPCS alchemy in the console ;-).

Ah but we don't all have that option as we don't all play on the PC. You don't have to let it mess with your gear. Its not permanent. Well, except for the guy above, which again, is the first time i've ever heard of that in 2+ years.

Simply taking your gear off again once you've reached the desired level allows you to return to "normal", making normal potions, although the temptation of unlimited power may be too much to bear, for some.

I myself use it to apply +225% one handed buffs to my gear. This is roughly the number I would achieve from enchanting 4 pieces of gear with one handed buffs & sneak buffs. Instead of having four pieces of gear enchanted, now I only have one, allowing me to wear whatever armor I want.

Again, if I played on PC, this would be a simple manner of console commands but unfortunately, I refuse to go out & buy a game for a different system that I already own.

You don't necessarily need to make potions this strong. I went up to ~45k% and made a few enchanting potions.
I drank an enchanting potion and created a ring with 70k % better smithing and alchemy(not very much) - but more than enough.

I believe this potion is of max value and the highest % possible.
After I drank this potion all my other potions were giving -1% to restoration but worth the same amount.

This is all very strange. I have version 1.9 (1.9.32.0.8) and yet this exploit no longer works for me. It did, however, work pre-1.9. What is your actual game version in which this is currently working? I have heard of some people downgrading in order to create these items and then re-patching, but that is not what is explained here. I primarily came to this thread for confirmation that the exploit does, indeed, work in a post-1.9 environment (thinking that there was a modification to the original exploit process), but the process has not changed and yet the exploit isn't working any more (for me). Thanks.

Update: I have not confirmed this yet, but it appears as though the latest version (1.3.2c) of the Unofficial Skyrim Patch (USKP) mod is the cause of this particular issue (for me). A post from in the forums at Skyrim Nexus Mods covers this.

Update 2: I have now confirmed that the latest version of USKP (1.3.2c) is indeed the cause of my woes. I have since downloaded and installed a particular 'fix-fix' mod to counteract USKP's interesting fix. That mod is "Revert Fortify Restoration Fix of the Unofficial Skyrim Patch" (version 1.1). I should mention that I find it interesting that there is no particular mention of this 'repair' in the USKP change log. According to a later post from the first link previously given, the author of USKP acknowledged what had been done and did not appear to like the topic. At any rate, I hope this resolves others' problem(s).

As one last re-iteration (clarification) of the solution: feel free to use USKP (if you have, or have not, been), but if you wish for the "Fortify Restoration Exploit" to continue working, be sure to download the "Revert Fortify Restoration Fix..." and be sure that it loads after USKP. I have confirmed all that I have mentioned previously. Take care.

Does the gear HAVE to be at a certain % of fortify alchemy in order to grow? I ask because the first time i tried was when my alchemy was at 15 and enchanting was maxed out. I had to restart due to health going into the negatives but now i have leveled by "sparring" with the first imperial officer and am now at lv 40. I have reset my sneak three times. I am currently trying to do that glitch again, i only gain about 5-8% increase to my gear. And my gear is at 10%. Is this where i am failing?

not to "toot my own horn" as it were, but I found this guide quite helpful when I first learned about this exploit/glitch - and I took it a step further with smithing and enchanting improvements as well.

http://skyrimforum.com/sf/threads/my-fortify-restoration-exploit-experiment.47931/

^^that's all of it there^^ including my final document on my experiment and results and final conclusions as to what I was wanting to use it for. Now the only "crafting" skill I have a hard time leveling is Enchanting. I've powerleveled Smithing and Alchemy quite a few times, along with Speech from selling some of the over-powered items. Got me from 50 to level 87 in about 2 hours.:Dragonborn:

What all of these guides seem to be forgetting is that you need 40 alchemy for this to work now...and in my opinion that's a pretty big detail to leave out.

If you take a look at my guide, My Fortify Restoration Exploit Experiment I state what levels my character was for my experiment.

Beyond that, getting to level 40 minimum in alchemy took me all of 6 hours with my khajiit. He basically walked from Riverwood to Solitude, collecting ingredients to the point he was overburdened by the time he got there. Through his poisons and potions, he was level 40 easy once he got into the alchemy shop in Solitude and made them. He also went from level 1 to level 16 in that process too, using Faendal as a trainer for his Archery to level 50 in the process.
