So what are your pet peeves regarding ignorance about the Medieval/Renaissance eras?

A lot of you may not know this about me as it's an area that always provokes controversy, but I'm an avid biker and in a Motorcycle Club.

as for you're comment on my profile. You're absolutely welcome. Though I'm not the most active member around, your threads are rather interesting. Even though you're a cynical old man. Cheers

If I'm not on here, be sure that I'm either lecturing my students at the University, playing Skyrim or watching Game of Thrones.

Thanks for the rep. I tried writing the RP thing, but I guess I hit the wrong forum. Thought, as an author I'd do a good job, but nobody commented or paid attention. If you know a good RP thread, I'd luv to write some stuff just to get opinion.

Sometimes when you post, I almost wish we could close the thread and say, "Yep. That's done. The definite word has been said." Most notably THE Thread today. You have, as I'm sure you know, a way with words.

I am very humbled at your kind words. The written word is a passion of mine and to have such praise is very kind of you. I can only hope that I make a valuable contribution to this forum. To say I have made friends here, like yourself, might seem very odd...but I believe I have!

Indeed! I value rhetoric, and a well articulated argument persuades me almost as much as a well reasoned one. I particularly enjoy it when I see both together. And I see that in your posts. Anyway, I'm not being kind, really. Just effusive. :)

    University Lecturer - History
I'm 28 years old, I work as a University lecturer on Medieval/Renaissance History. I am Scottish/Danish and Irish/Norwegian in heritage. I have been bald since I was 16 years old and have never spent a day clean shaven since I could grow a beard at the same age.

I own a classic, custom-built 1971 Triumph T150 chopper motorbike and it is my prize possession, third in beauty and perfection only to my wife and daughter. Along with my 5 friends of around 10 years, I have co-founded a Motorcycle Club based in Northumbria where I live and we are growing in stature every day.

Music and books would be another passion of mine, alongside video games, and I have an eclectic taste in all regards, owning titles by Tolkien to Tolstoy and Black Label Society to Bach.

Many people consider me a contradiction in terms and many have used the term "enigma" before - but there is no confusion about my priorities...

Family is everything. In the end, all a man can ask for is to cope. To take care of his family, to be blessed with enough health to survive and to have enough faith to allow himself the chance to dream. If all else fails, he should be granted the strength to rip the beating heart out of the bastard that threatens any of the above.
