Earlier this year Sega filed trademarks both in Japan and the US for a video game called “Valkyria of the Blue Revolution.” It wasn’t known at the time if the use of the word “Valkyria” indicated a new Valkyria Chronicles game, but now it’s been confirmed as the name of one.
Not only is there a new game coming, but an HD remaster of the original Valkyria Chronicles is also coming to Playstation 4. This remaster was originally released for the PS3 and found its way to Steam last year.
But the new game is what everyone’s psyched about. And unfortunately we know nothing other than one is coming. Not only has an American release not been confirmed yet, but we don’t even know when the thing is coming out in Japan. It’s expected that the next issue of Weekly Famitsu will reveal answers to fan questions; that issue comes out in two days.
There have been three Valkyria Chronicles games released to date; one on the PS3 and two on the PSP; the last of which did not get a Western release due to low sales of the second game.
