  • Natsume Hits Pay Dirt With Unopened Harvest Moon From Their Shelves Natsume Hits Pay Dirt With Unopened Harvest Moon From Their ShelvesEarlier this year, we reported that Natsume was in the process of selling off the excess inventory they had stockpiled over the past twenty years of business — everything from obscure DS games about cheerleading to valuable SNES titles. Last week, the moment everyone had been waiting for finally happened: a shrinkwrapped copy of the original SNES Harvest Moon went up for auction. The winning bid was $3,783,33.
The Harvest Moon franchise, which went on to spawn many many titles and spinoffs, began on the Super NES extremely late in the console’s lifespan. Coming out in 1997, it was sold at ...
  • This Is The Final Day To Get The Fallout 4 Season Pass For $30 This Is The Final Day To Get The Fallout 4 Season Pass For $30When the Fallout 4 Season Pass was first announced, the cost was $30. Bethesda has since expanded what they plan to put in their DLC, and hence, the price of their Season Pass will be expanding as well. Those who bought it at the original $30 price, however, will be grandfathered in and still get everything for what they paid.
For some reason Bethesda didn’t immediately jack up the price $20 when they announced their expanded plans, meaning you can still get everything the Season Pass has to offer, for the original price, through the end of February. Ordinarily that end ...
  • Fire Emblem Just Had Its Best-Selling Opening Week Ever With Fates Fire Emblem Just Had Its Best-Selling Opening Week Ever With FatesYou can consider Fire Emblem Fates a success! The series just had its biggest U.S. launch in the series’ history, with over 300,000 copies moved in just three days. It’s worth pointing out, though, that Nintendo kinda forced fans to buy the game twice. That figure is the combined total of both Birthright and Conquest.
Which fate are fans preferring? According to Nintendo, Birthright is outselling Conquest, though they didn’t reveal by how much. Birthright is the easier of the two games, as you get an entire Evil Empire on your side. The previous Fire Emblem game, Awakening, sold 180,000 copies ...
  • Fallout 4 Creation Kit Gets A Release Window Fallout 4 Creation Kit Gets A Release WindowOne of the major additions Bethesda is planning for Fallout 4 is the Creation Kit, a set of modding tools based on the same utilities the dev team used to make the game. Though people have already unsurprisingly found ways to mod Fallout 4 on PC, this will be Bethesda’s officially supported method (though they don’t seem to mind any other type of mod).
Until today we weren’t sure when this kit would be made available, but today Bethesda cleared that up. You can expect the Fallout 4 Creation Kit on PC this April, with a release for consoles rolling out ...
  • A New Fallout 4 Patch Is Coming A New Fallout 4 Patch Is ComingFallout 4 will be updated to version 1.4 shortly. Though this version has the usual amount of bug repairs and performance tweaks, its true purpose is to set the coding groundwork for the game’s upcoming DLC content, which has been expanded since it was originally announced. In fact, the season pass now costs $49.99 — but don’t panic if you bought it already; all customers who purchased a Season Pass at its original price will be grandfathered into the new plan at no extra cost.
The patch is currently in beta on Steam, but once they give the OK, it’ll be ...
  • Two Ace JRPG Studios Unite For New Game Two Ace JRPG Studios Unite For New GameHere’s some cool news: Mistwalker Studio, the game developer headed by ex-Final Fantasy director Hironobu Sakaguchi, is now collaborating with Silicon Studio (the guys behind Bravely Default) on a new game.
Details are less than scant. We have no idea what kind of game it is or who the main characters are. The only hint we’ve given is this piece of concept art:

    Look familiar?
I’m serious, it might. Silicon Studio actually first revealed this art to the public seven years ago, and it was never explained what game it was for then either. Artist Kimihiko Fujisaka created it, and at the time ...

In case you’re wondering what happens if you fail, a giant trap door opens up between your feet and you fall ...

  • Bethesda Now Cooking Up Something “Big And Crazy” Bethesda Now Cooking Up Something "Big And Crazy"So after the wild success of their Elder Scrolls and Fallout properties, what’s next for megastar game studio Bethesda? Today at the DICE summit in Las Vegas, Fallout 4 director Todd Howard was asked what his team had planned for the future. Howard answered by pointing out they’re not quite done with Fallout 4: the DLC content has to be created, and they’re working on previously reported material like a beefed-up Survival Mode and user mod tools.
    But then he spoke further….
We actually have three kinda longer-term projects we’re doing that are all—we’ll talk about them at a much future date, ...
  • Fallout 3 Is No Longer Banned In Germany Fallout 3 Is No Longer Banned In GermanyThere was a time when it was illegal to sell Fallout 3 in Germany. That time was about a few hours ago.
The nation has historically had stricter laws on the portrayal of violence in the media, at least they have since that time their country was about nothing but violence. Out of fear they might once again raise another Hitler, they’ve enacted strict regulations regarding content in movies, TV and especially video games.
A government-funded organization called Germany’s Federal Department for Media Harmful to Minors originally banned Fallout 3. This was after Bethesda submitted a sanitized version where much of the ...
