  • New Final Fantasy XV Footage: Dungeons, Malboros And More final fantasy xvSquare-Enix has released three new screenshots from Final Fantasy XV (which they’ve promised we’ll get in 2016).

This is a shot taken within Restalm, a city within the region of Duscae. Wonder if this city follows a major battle and you’re supposed to “rest” there. Final Fantasy names tend to be on-the-nose.

Here’s our party, travelling between areas. Who needs horses or airships when you got a sleek black sports car?

And this is Ido, a dungeon area. Looks awesome.
There’s also new gameplay footage, released for Gamescom, that shows the party’s encounter with the dreaded Malboro. Show any Final Fantasy veteran a picture ...

  • New Mod Gives Skyrim Pixar Visuals skyrimA new Skyrim mod from a man calling himself UniqueUses has been making waves in the Elder Scrolls fan community. He’s showing off something he’s been working on called “Toon Skyrim” that turns the graphics in the game into cartoon scenery.
When applied to Skyrim, the visual makeover is surprisingly effective. Mountains, trees, cabins and piles of rocks all look like they would in a CGI animated movie. The mod hits a wall, though, when it applies the same render to humanoids, monsters and NPCs. In that instance the loss of detail makes faces look smudgy and awful. He’s working on ...
  • Final Fantasy XV Is Targeted For 2016 final fantasy xvHajime Tabata, director of Final Fantasy XV, told Gamespot that he was pushing toward a 2016 release date for the long, long, long-awaited game.
Well, he didn’t say it specifically, but he “said” it in about as specific a manner as he could without actually saying it. “At the very least,” he started, “I can tell you that it isn’t going to be released this year. I think we’ll be able to tell you when we’re making the announcement around PAX Prime, at the end of this month.” He continued, “We can certainly say to people: it’s not going to be ...
  • You’ll Be Able To Play Fallout 4 Forever fallout 4Fallout 4 developer Bethesda revealed something new about the game today on their Twitter account. People have been wondering if Fallout 4 had a specific ending point, and the response was:
“To our fans who’ve asked: Fallout 4 doesn’t end when the main story is over and there is no level cap. You can keep playing and leveling.”
So if you want to, you can play Fallout 4 forever, or for as long as your console will last before it wears down, or as long as the Fallout 4 software remains compatible and playable on a modern PC. Or until you die, ...
  • Witcher 3’s Patch Getting A Patch We reported last week that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt had received a patch, 1.07, that wound up introducing as many problems as it had come to fix. Developer CD Projekt Red hauled major overtime, and now they’re releasing patch 1.08 just one week later to plug all those holes. Let’s hope it doesn’t drill some new ones.
This patch, in addition to fixing the framerate issues from patch 1.07, fixes some glitches and repairs an Achievement that was previously impossible to get. It also lays the coding groundwork for the New Game Plus feature that will be added to the ...
  • The Final Fantasy 7 Remake Will Feature Different Combat The director of the upcoming Final Fantasy 7 remake, Tetsuya Nomura, spoke in an interview with Official Playstation Magazine that was published this week. Yes, there is still an Official Playstation Magazine, but only in England.
Nomura revealed his team was looking at making “dramatic changes” to the game’s fighting style, then dialed back those words by adding, “That being said we want to clarify: We’re not going to be changing it into a shooter or something like that. We are going to be bringing dramatic changes, but we want to make sure it’s still recognizable.”
This isn’t that surprising when you ...

  • Sign Up For Your Fallout 4 Loot Crate loot crateFallout collectors may want to keep an eye on the game merch delivery service Loot Crate in the coming months. Loot Crate and Bethesda have announced there will be a special Fallout 4 edition of Loot Crate delivered to the lucky few who can get one.
