  • There Is Now Fallout 4 Branded Beer fallout 4New video games having promotional tie-ins with beverages is nothing new, but they’re usually non-alcoholic…at least in the States.
In Australia, a company called Black Ops Brewing has entered a partnership with Activision to produce a beer called “Black Hops Midnight Pale Ale” that they say is inspired by Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 (or at least, inspired by the money from the deal). The beer’s official description says it contains roasted wheat that produces a “deep rich black color without any of the harsh roast or bitter flavors that you might expect from a dark ale.” Black Hops Midnight ...
  • Fallout 4 Will Not Get A Demo fallout 4If you were hoping to “try before you buy” with Fallout 4, bad news. This game won’t have a demo released. Pete Hines, marketing executive for Bethesda, responded to a fan’s question on Twitter regarding a demo for the game.

    NuclearDrifting

@DCDeacon will there be a demo for Fallout 4 or will this be like other times where the were no demos? #changingtraditions

    Pete Hines

@NuclearDrifting no demo. Not possible to cut up the game into a small piece

If he says it isn’t possible to offer a bite-sized version of Fallout 4, then it probably isn’t, though gigantic sprawling games have had demos ...

  • Square Plans To Continue Investing In Their Existing Properties Square-Enix’s new Annual Report says their plans for 2016 and beyond will mostly involve “revitalizing existing IPs.” Elaborating, they have vague plans to “take an IP developed for earlier generations of game consoles and recreate it for the latest consoles.” This also includes “smart devices” like phones.
While this strategy sounds familiar and nothing like actual news, Square seems to be implying they’re interested in reviving more of their older intellectual properties. This could be good news for those impatiently waiting for the company’s dormant properties, like the Mana and Chrono series, to be used again.
    It doesn’t need pointing out — ...
  • New Shenmue 3 Details, Courtesy Of Yu Suzuki The website DualShockers published an interview with Yu Suzuki today. In it Suzuki revealed some new information regarding the development of the long-demanded sequel, Shenmue 3.
Yu said the game will feature four main bosses, and that one of them would be Lan Di, who previously appeared in the other two games (released in 1999 and 2001). He also said the fourth boss would be “an extremely beautiful and sexy, but cruel woman” who focuses more on “cunning than head-on fighting.” How that will translate to gameplay is up to interpretation at this point, but it shows possibilities. As for the ...
  • Sega Files Trademark For Possible Valkyria Chronicles Game valkyria chroniclesAccording to the Japanese blog Esuteru, Sega has filed a new trademark with the Japanese Patent Office for something called Valkyria of the Blue Revolution. The filing was not specific beyond the name and the classification (it’s a video game). Since the Japanese name for Valkyria Chronicles was Valkyria of the Battlefield, the names are similar enough that it could mean Sega is planning to revive the beloved (yet unappreciated) strategy series.
The original Valkyria Chronicles came out in 2008 for the PS3 to wide critical acclaim, but didn’t sell very well. Its sequels were banished to the PSP, and apparently ...

  • New Fallout 4 Trailer Goes For Live-Action fallout 4Fallout 4 comes out in less than a month. Bethesda has put out a lot of trailers for the game at this point. This particular one goes for a live-action take on the events in Fallout 4 — well, as live-action as the settings will allow. Much of what you see here is clearly CG’d into the scene, but it does use a real person and a real dog. If Fallout ever happened — and let’s all pray it never does — this is what it would look like.

The trailer uses the mid-20th century song “The Wanderer” over the scenes ...
  • What Square’s Showing Off At Paris Games Week Every time you turn your head, there’s another video game trade show happening in some country. Next up is Paris Games Week in France, which lasts less than a week (false advertising) from October 28 to November 1. Square-Enix will be one of the companies showing off new footage of their games, and they’ve revealed their full list now.
The first game on the list is a title that coincidentally rhymes with “weird.” Nier 2: New Project is what the title from Platinum Games is currently known as, but that’s because the dev team says the actual subtitle contains a spoiler ...
  • You’ll Be Able To Play Fallout 4 On The Vita….Remotely ps vitaFallout 4 won’t be coming out for the PS Vita. Sony has pretty much written off the handheld as a failure, and most game creators have followed suit except for indie developers and a few Japanese studios. Fallout 4 developer Bethesda hasn’t completely forgotten about the thing, though. While you won’t be able to play a dedicated copy of Fallout 4 from the Vita, you will be able to play it there if you remotely stream it from a Playstation 4.
You might wonder what the point is — your big TV is right there and you still can’t take Fallout ...
