  • Now You Can Play Zero Escape For Real, If You Dare zero escapeLos Angeles residents will be able to experience the horror and thrills of the Zero Escape virtual novels this spring when the attraction Real Zero Escape: Trust On Trial opens in the city’s Little Tokyo area. It’s expected to work much like the rooms in the game do: you enter a room, the door locks behind you, and you have a limited amount of time to solve a series of puzzles hidden throughout the room that will let you escape.

In case you’re wondering what happens if you fail, a giant trap door opens up between your feet and you fall ...

  • Bethesda Now Cooking Up Something “Big And Crazy” fallout 4So after the wild success of their Elder Scrolls and Fallout properties, what’s next for megastar game studio Bethesda? Today at the DICE summit in Las Vegas, Fallout 4 director Todd Howard was asked what his team had planned for the future. Howard answered by pointing out they’re not quite done with Fallout 4: the DLC content has to be created, and they’re working on previously reported material like a beefed-up Survival Mode and user mod tools.
    But then he spoke further….
We actually have three kinda longer-term projects we’re doing that are all—we’ll talk about them at a much future date, ...
  • Fallout 3 Is No Longer Banned In Germany There was a time when it was illegal to sell Fallout 3 in Germany. That time was about a few hours ago.
The nation has historically had stricter laws on the portrayal of violence in the media, at least they have since that time their country was about nothing but violence. Out of fear they might once again raise another Hitler, they’ve enacted strict regulations regarding content in movies, TV and especially video games.
A government-funded organization called Germany’s Federal Department for Media Harmful to Minors originally banned Fallout 3. This was after Bethesda submitted a sanitized version where much of the ...
  • Fallout 4 Survival Mode To Get More Dangerous fallout 4Survival Mode is the most brutal difficulty setting Fallout 4 offers, but it might not be enough for some people. The setting increases the stamina of enemies while reducing yours and making you more vulnerable to hits. But the previous Survival Mode, which was part of Fallout: New Vegas, also added permadeath and removed the ability to heal by sleeping. From a tweet Bethesda sent out yesterday, it sounds like they plan to add these bits:
We’re also doing a complete overhaul of Fallout 4 Survival mode. Food, sleep, diseases, danger and more. Stay tuned.
“Food” and “danger” could imply even more ...
  • Fallout Fan Told To Destroy His Special Edition To Get Refund falloutBethesda recently came out with the Fallout 3 soundtrack on 4-disc vinyl, and superfan Paul Watson was first in line to get one. However, when the records finally arrived, Paul opened the box to find one of them was missing from the package.
He called up the company to see if he could get a refund. “Sure,” they told him, “if you can provide photographic evidence.” He did, and he later checked his bank balance to see…..a refund of $25, or one-fourth of what he had paid for the whole set. They had only given him back the cash for the ...
  • Mother 3 Rumors Running Rampant mother 3There have been rumors, but nothing like this. Everyone seems to be certain we’re just one announcement away from confirmation that Nintendo is putting out Mother 3, aka the third Earthbound title, officially in English on the Virtual Console. Unlike every other irresponsible news outlet on the Web, we’re not going to say to your face that Mother 3’s English release is absolutely a possibility. Because you can’t say that. Yet.
The latest round of insanity began when Nintendo insider Emily Rogers tweeted ”Don’t be surprised if Nintendo celebrates a game’s 10th anniversary this year,” coupled with a screenshot from Mother ...
  • If You Want Adventures Of Mana On Vita, Now is The Time To Tell Square adventures of manaFor those who never played the original Mana game Seiken Desentsu, aka “Final Fantasy Adventure” on the Game Boy, trust me when I say it is a truly excellent game. Square has now created a shot-for-shot remake of FFA for iOS, Android and PS Vita, and just put out the English version — but only for phones. Square now says that could change if we speak up.
This morning Square posted a tweet directing to a blog post about Adventures of Mana. “If you’d like to play Adventures of Mana on PS Vita let us know on the SE Blog! The ...
  • Here’s What The Fire Emblem Fates “Petting” Scene Was Changed To fire emblem fatesIn the original Japanese release of Fire Emblem Fates, you could take characters that had grown fond of you into private quarters for a while and….pet their heads. You did this literally via stylus, in a minigame with the porn-like name “Skinship.”
It was reported last week that the head-petting had been removed from all versions outside of Japan. But what did they replace it with? Until today, nobody knew, until the website Polygon took their review copy to the place in which “Skinship” might have happened. A girl named Sakura expressed interest in meeting their Corrin in private, which they ...
  • Issues Reported With Tales Of Symphonia’s PC Port tales of symphoniaIf you were looking forward to playing Tales of Symphonia on PC at last, you might want to hold off on that Steam purchase if you haven’t already made it. Numerous complaints are emerging from unsatisfied customers who say the port has quite a few problems — and not all of them are bug-related.
Some people are miffed that the game is locked at 30 FPS and doesn’t run any faster even if your rig is capable of it — it would seem that an RPG that originated on the Gamecube would have no problem pushing 60. Others have reported the ...
  • Bethesda Will Once Again Speak At E3 bethesdaThe E3 of 2015 was the first in which Bethesda Softworks held an entire grand press conference, the type of which you usually got from console makers, or veterans like EA. Today Bethesda announced they were going to try to make a tradition out of it. They will be back on stage this June!
Last year Bethesda had good reason to need an entire conference of their own: the impending launch of Fallout 4. What could they have up their sleeves this time that’s huge enough to necessitate another conference? The reason could be Doom: the company has been working on ...
