Nintendo has announced that a new Nintendo Direct will be broadcasting tomorrow, and this one will be all about Xenoblade Chronicles X.
Xenoblade Chronicles X is the sequel to the criticially praised JRPG from Monolith Soft which was released for the Wii in 2010. The game’s English version was almost a European exclusive, but fan demand and GameStop’s agreement to purchase all copies brought the game to America in limited quantities in 2012. Those quantities sold out quickly and the game was reprinted — and sold well enough to convince Nintendo to launch the New 3DS with a handheld port of the game, this time available everywhere.
Monolith Soft previously created Xenogears for Square and the three Xenosaga games for Namco. You might be noticing a pattern, but officially the games are not connected despite various similarities. The sequel will feature larger areas, an even more extensive amount of content to find, and customizable characters, not to mention for the first time since Xenosaga, giant mechs are back. We will know more tomorrow.
After the Direct, keep watching for a Nintendo Treehouse presentation featuring a live playthrough of the game. The next Nintendo direct will broadcast Friday, April 24, at 11:00 a.m. PT / 2:00 p.m. ET, at http://www.nintendo.com/nintendo-direct.
