Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch was released in 2013 for the Playstation 3 and became a sleeper hit due to its throwback RPG gameplay, its refreshingly light storyline and its gorgeous graphical style, helped in part by Studio Ghibli handling the cutscenes. Today during the Playstation Experience keynote, Sony was pleased to announce Ni No Kuni 2.
While the prior game revolved around an outsider to the kingdom of Ding Dong Dell, the sequel’s main protagonist will be a citizen: Evan, the area’s reigning monarch who, at the time of the game, happens to be a small boy. This causes a problem when he’s easily overthrown by some kind of weasel creature. The outsider this time is Roland, a man determined to help Evan grow up and reclaim his throne. There’s also some girl in warpaint but we don’t know who she is yet.
The trailer is below, and it’s in full English already. Though there’s no American or Japanese release date for Ni No Kuni 2 yet, I can’t see why it would already be dubbed if we weren’t getting it at some point.
