Firaxis Adds Flexibility To Civ VI To Support Modders

Mods are a part of the video game community that are at times appreciate, and other times ignored. Sometimes though, games just have no desire to have mods done. Civilization is a curious case, and the team itself have done moddiing of sorts, but not let the fanbase have the pleasure.

In an interview with IGN, Civilization VI Lead Designer stated, without fully confirming, that they are making the game flexible enough so that modders can have their way with the title.

“We’re going to talk about this in depth later, but what we have done is added a whole bunch of flexibility in terms of how game rules are built, and created, and linked to the different subsystems in our game. And that sort of fresh approach to things is going to make the modders be able to go nuts right out of the gate in terms of adding things.”

If full on confirmation comes, this will bring much joy to fans of the franchise. Civilization VI arrives October 21st.
