Last night, the last thing shown off during the Final Fantasy XV Uncovered event was a new story trailer for the game. As you’ll see, we really weren’t kidding about Stand By Me being used as the theme. The classic was originally sung by Ben E. King, but this is a new cover done by Florence And The Machine exclusively for Square.
Before the trailer showed up, one of the event’s surprises was the announcement of a 5-episode anime series featuring the game’s characters, called Final Fantasy XV Brotherhood. According to Square, the series will “delve into the extraordinary friendships between crown prince Noctis and his three comrades, setting the stage for the adventure players will set out upon in the action-packed RPG.” Translation: it’s a way to get to know the characters before playing the game, which is a pretty smart strategy for the company. How much will these cartoons cost to view? Nothing at all: Square is broadcasting them on YouTube for free. The first episode went up upon the conclusion of the event last night.
We’ll let you know when more episodes of Brotherhood appear. Final Fantasy XV comes out for Playstation 4 and XBox One September 30.
