A limited edition version of Fallout 4 was announced during Bethesda’s E3 press conference. It contains the game in a special metal case, a player’s guide, a poster, and — probably the very thing that’s creating such a demand for it — a real Pip Boy model with its own display stand. The Pip Boy can be made functional by inserting a smartphone running the Pip Boy app.
Fallout 4 itself is in high demand after Bethesda’s reveal brought down the house, and if you want the Pip Boy Edition, now is your one chance to buy it at retail value. That value would be $120, twice the normal price of the game (probably), but the prices set by eBay scalpers will be much higher.
As this report is being written, Best Buy has the XBox version of the Pip Boy Edition available. The PC version is sold out and the PS4 version is listed as “coming soon.” Wal-Mart also has just the XBox version up. GameStop has all three listed as buyable, but if you go to their individual pages they are listed as sold out. (Typical Gamestop incompetence, harumph.)
Both the special and not-so-special editions of Fallout 4 will be released on November 10 for xBox One, Playstation 4 and PC.
