Last week Square let the cat slime out of the bag regarding a PC port of Dragon Quest Heroes. Today Square confirmed that it is indeed true: you’ll be able to buy a PC version next month, and it won’t be alone. Dragon Quest Heroes came out in Japan last year and on the US Playstation 4 last month.
What Steam managed to keep a lid on was the additional existence of another recent Square game now ready for PCs: Lightning Returns, the third Final Fantasy XIII game originally released for PS3. Critical and fan response to this sequel wasn’t quite as positive, so it was probably easier for Valve to keep a lid on the secret production of this one.
Here’s what you’ll get with each: The Steam version of DQ Heroes will be a special “Digital Slime Edition” that will include eleven extra slime-themed weapons. Lightning Returns will have some, but not all, of the PS3 version’s downloadable content, including alternate Cloud and Yuna costumes for Lightning. Because adding Cloud makes anything better.
