The E3 of 2015 was the first in which Bethesda Softworks held an entire grand press conference, the type of which you usually got from console makers, or veterans like EA. Today Bethesda announced they were going to try to make a tradition out of it. They will be back on stage this June!
Last year Bethesda had good reason to need an entire conference of their own: the impending launch of Fallout 4. What could they have up their sleeves this time that’s huge enough to necessitate another conference? The reason could be Doom: the company has been working on a throwback action-oriented remake of the landmark FPS for quite some time, and though we still don’t know how close it is to completion, June could be the month in which we find out a lot more.
Bethesda is also working on Dishonored 2, of which we’ve seen very little. The game was announced at E3 2015. We might be hearing — and seeing — a lot more of it at E3 2016. And what about the Elder Scrolls franchise? It’s been a while; presumably they must have something they’re hiding.
According to Bethesda’s card, which was tweeted out this morning, their conference will take place Sunday, June 12th at 7 PM Pacific. It helps to call early dibs: they’ll be presenting six hours after EA takes the stage the same day.
