Yup, it was confirmed on another forum. The difficulty will cause all other creatures/NPCs to take less damage, while only the player will take increased damage. This causes a summon to become tankier as the difficulty increases. This is frustrating for me. I wish it didn't work this way...
Hmm. Interesting. I haven't really tried anything other than familiar and flame atronach. I don't think I like that they take more damage from the player. That leads me to believe the whole thing is confirmed. I wish they were affected like the player. Thanks for the response!
Recently I've been playing on Legendary difficulty. At one point I was fighting a dragon priest, which was rough, because he kept 2 shotting me with his fireballs. I decided to cast my low level spell "Conjure Familiar" and let the wolf tank the dragon priest a bit. It seemed to be working...
